The fuel oil evaporated faster than the recovery work. I watched some of the drama, and I mean DRAMA on the local news…my oh my oh my, how this story was squeezed for everything it was worth…and the whining from Ms. Wassername, a city councellor, about how long it took for herself to be informed of the spill. I don’t blame her, I mean corrective action was taken right away; how can this be accomplished without appropriate ecological and environmental impact studies? Sage wind-bagging by university professors? Worse of all, St. Suzi can’t be recalled from the tropics that fast. The figure of 6 whole litres was brought up. It’s newscasts like this that put a heavy burden on my DVD player.

Was just down there walking along English Bay beach and 2nd Beach – looks the same as always. I’ve never seen an oil spill up close but I assume there should be – you know – some oil spilled….

i found it ironic that this fuel spill, not oil, is being reported by cbc in litres…yes 3000 litres does look like a big number on the cbc ticker next to 19 barrels.. and torstar owned cp sub journalist actually called english bay pristine..
