Maclean’s magazine just published a huge story called “The Angry, Radical Right," with the sub-headline, “Why a growing number of extremists are lashing out publicly at Muslim immigrants and Justin Trudeau."
What the author did was laughable:
He went to some public Facebook groups — where anyone in the world can write a message -- and he cherry-picked some people ranting politically about the PM and refugees.
The Maclean's article uses the word "extremist" five times — but never to talk about Muslim migrants or terrorists, of course. Only to describe old stock Canadians who are angry about Trudeau.
But those angry words on Facebook that Maclean's is suddenly so concerned about? They’re just words. Maclean’s used to support that sort of thing.
Remember Mark Steyn's cover story ten years ago, warning about Muslim migration?
Muslims took Maclean's to human rights court over that. It cost the magazine a quarter million dollars to fight back, but they did.
Maclean’s would never do that today.
Now they put convicted Al Qaida terrorist Omar Khadr on their cover, presenting him as a victim.
There are real threats in Canada. As I told their writer, the likelihood of being killed by Muslim terrorists is very low. The real threat is political Islam changing our culture.
But to Maclean’s, that’s just too difficult to talk about.
Besides, they know that the online commenters they went after in this article aren't going to take them to court, let alone an unfair human rights commission.
At The Rebel, we know what the real threats are. And exposing them is tougher work than reporting on comments left on obscure Facebook pages.

Keep thinking I am Gordo and confirming that you are a retard. It makes no difference to me. Every post you make is laughable.
I don’t demonize all conservatives. I will say that there are sensible and reasonable conservatives – but The Rebel doesn’t really cater to them. Most conservatives here are of the extreme kind that Maclean’s is talking about.
Liberals simply don’t live in fear and paranoia like you do. We also consider the odds, so when you understand that you are more likely to win the Powerball while being hit by lightning compared to being attacked or killed by a terrorist, you don’t spend your days frantically worried that the Muslim boogeyman is coming to get us. That’s the reason why.
We have far more reason to worry about everyday crime in Canada. Like what happened to Mark Ernsting – look him up.
I am not Gordo Steele. That’s how smart you are, which is to say that you are dumb and don’t know what the fuck you are talking about.
Slipped up.
LOL.
Nice brain you’ve got there.
What really scares me is when good people are pushed to a breaking point their response is usually very swift and very brutal and when that happens ,THATS when these people will want to open up a dialogue and discuss the issues. If it gets that far, it will be to late and THATS what scares me.
Let’s start with the idea of fear. If you are not afraid every once and a while after watching what is going on in the world then check your pulse you might be dead. I remember the liberals and their fearmongering of Stephen Harper, ‘he has a hidden agenda’; ‘he will make abortion illegal’; ‘he is a Christian’; ‘he is for big oil’; ‘he hates the environment’; ‘he is anti-science’. All of these accusations and malicious pejoratives were not only unfounded but were immature and reflected badly on those that said them. Stephen Harper had his faults and the main one was that he did not govern very conservatively. That is an incontrovertible fact. He was centrist. He made no conservative social moves, he ran deficits to appease the liberals and NDP during his minority mandates and continued to do so with a majority. (I cut him a break on running deficits since he is an economist and I am not.) The left did plenty of fear-mongering about Stephen Harper and the conservatives. The biggest issue the left had with the previous government was that they dropped the word ‘progressive’ from the party name. What a dumb name: Progressive Conservative! That would be the same as if the liberals decided to call themselves the Evangelical Liberal Party of Canada. Or maybe, the Right Wing Liberal Party of Canada. Liberals fear conservatives because conservatives are grown up and liberals have turned into adolescent brats. I am sure there are some real liberals out there but I can’t remember the last time I ran into one. These kids are scared of not getting there way and tend not to know what is going on in the grown up world. Name calling mitigates their fear. The more afraid they are the more they hurl their insults and cast blame on others.
Anger: well, I remember JT being quite angry and calling someone ‘a piece of shit’ in parliament. If you really want to see a liberal get angry just say Christian or Catholic or if you are willing to risk your life try saying ‘evangelical free trade pro-life oil worker’. Reserve that last one for only if you have a pre-planned escape route.
Are conservatives angry? Well, yeah, when you start talking about Justin Trudeau whipping out his anti-oil, anti-pipeline, admiration for China, Quebec knows best, drama teacher dramatics. Why can’t that guy talk like a normal person!!! Come on, even the most die hard Liberal can’t tell me that they wouldn’t rather have their skin peeled from their limbs than listen to this guy talk! It is excruciating listening to a grown man talk in a half baby, quarter14 year old valley girl, and quarter pretentious high school drama teacher voice.
Aren’t we all just a little scared and pissed off these days? The dollar is less than 70 cents and they tell us it’s good for the economy. People are blowing themselves up to kill others and saying ‘God is great, peace be upon you’. There is a global economic meltdown and I’m not sure I will have a job tomorrow. Iran wants to obliterate Israel off the face of the earth, Russia takes Crimea and invades the Ukraine, the US is 17 trillion in debt and couldn’t stand up to a mild breeze. Syria is a killing field and kids are shooting other kids at school on a regular basis. I am told the world is coming to an end by a massive temperature increase but all I have to do to stop it is give up my job, my house, my car, and most of what I normally eat and wear. I see a large segment of the Islamic world chopping off people’s heads, raping women and girls, throwing gay people off of buildings, killing Christians, and vowing to destroy western civilization. My countries response to the terror in the Middle East is to withdraw the meagre military effort to combat ISIS and the radical murderer’s and rapists and give the victims winter coats. My current prime minister derided Stephen Harper for running deficits while campaigning on a promise to run deficits himself. I hear mayors from Calgary, Montreal, and Burnaby talking about pipelines and trade deals when they are supposed to be looking after their respective cities rather than enviously wishing they had more important jobs. I could go on. In short, I am angry and I am scared. We have a world in crisis and some of the dumbest people we could find running the show. Who isn’t angry and scared? If you are not scared and angry you might be dead or certainly a Liberal.
Yes, it is a minority and no, I am not worried about it being a problem here. I am more worried about crime and murder committed by Canadians against Canadians.
The Rebel’s bread and butter is fear mongering and you eat that shit up. Hell, there are conservatives on here that think YOU are crazy and have stated exactly that, so you are completely delusional if you think you are normal.
“Seems like McLean’s got this one “right”. The extreme right is very angry and has worked very hard to sabotage the modern political structure. The Conservatives moved so far right under Harper they think that the centrist Liberal party is extreme left wing. The Liberals are barely left of center now, if at all. Hate mongering is a much larger threat to Canadian citizens than any potential terrorists because hate mongering is and will continue to implant hate filled ideas in the minds of those that are already mentally imbalanced. This was exactly the same way that the Nazi party worked. "
Your ignorance is stunning, a product of our new educational system with no fails? Liberals have not been centrist since Lester B. Pearson (22 April 1963 – 20 April 1968). Pierre Trudeau moved the party left of center. NAZI – The National Socialist German Workers’ Party.
Short history lesson for you:

“Sean Penson intoned: “The right must learn to master newspeak, and at least pretend to eschew their views. Just at least pretend to go with the flow, and all will be fine. Just be ready to turn in your friends and supporters to the appropriate authorities when told to do so” Spoken like a tyrant! Any relation to Goebbels?”
I was thinking along similar lines Rick, but Goebbels was the Reich Minister of Propaganda in Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945. That comment of Sean’s is more reminiscent of the Gestapo and their reliance on/by informants. However, when you consider all of the propaganda Sean usually types ad nauseam, Goebbels is the better fit.

D.T. how can you ignore what the Liberal party has become. It is unrecognisable as the centrist party it once was. They are so far left that they have made the NDP redundant. The only reason the conservative party now looks far right to the likes of you, is because the left is so far out in left field as to look like one big blur.
Mad and madder, gets entirely too much attention.
