Everything wrong with that “History of Cultural Appropriation Rap”

Gavin McInnesArchive

Two Jewish guys put out a video telling white people not to take part in “cultural appropriation” — by rapping about it.

(LANGUAGE WARNING)

But rap is a black musical genre.

Except it's largely produced and promoted by… white guys.

Wait, what?

I take apart everything wrong with this video, from the myth that “white people stole rock and roll from blacks,” to explaining that Cher gets to dress like an Indian because… she was Indian. Did she culturally appropriate herself?

And of course they mention the Washington Redskins.

It's horrible.

Only a liar would deny the three following facts. 1) The Chinese invented pants. 2) The Ancient Germans where the first people to domesticate the pig. 3) The Viet Namese where the first people to domesticate the chicken. Tell ALL those SJW assholes that if they are not Chinese, they need to stop wearing pants, if they are not German, they need to stop eating pork, and if they are not Viet Namese, they need to stop eating chicken.

MICHEAL JACKSON’S FAVOURITE SONG WAS WRITEN BY A WHITE MANCHARLIE CHAPLIN WORDS BY JOHN TURNER AND GEOFFERY PASONS.
In the final scene of Modern Times, Charlie and the gamine set off down the road to a new life.

When they get up off the grass verge to go, he pauses and points to the corners of his mouth, indicating that she should smile.

The film soundtrack is only instrumental, but the Turner and Parsons lyrics must have been inspired by this scene.
Smile

Music by Charles Chaplin, Lyrics by John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons

Smile, though your heart is aching
Smile, even though it’s breaking
When there are clouds in the sky
you’ll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You’ll see the sun come shining through
for you

Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That’s the time you must keep on trying
Smile what’s the use of crying
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
If you’ll just
Smile

GEORGE DYER;
Pity you could not have added a Pakistani translation to that comment.

I’m a huge fan of cultural appropriation. I take every opportunity I can to encourage folks who have come to Canada from some barbaric shithole to appropriate the culture of western civilization.
