Remember the NDP’s much touted Energy Diversification Advisory committee?
It was set up by the NDP to fix the economic problems they created when they found ways to move away from our natural resource extraction based economy.
We have details on how much the NDP were paying their hand picked panel and how much it all cost.
I asked the Alberta Government to provide all records about the formation of the energy diversification advisory committee starting from the idea through to the organization, set up of the panel, function of the panel, how many members, and the appointment and recruiting of the members.
We also asked the government to provide expense information like travel, accommodation and office expenses.
I got my hands on the pay rates and the overall budget for the panel— $256,000, which was $100,000 more than the NDP told us it was, and saw that their favourite anti-business crony, AFL president Gil McGowan, made a cool $450 bucks per day!
But I can’t tell you what the panel eventually advised Energy Minister Marg McCuaig-Boyd to do.
The government redacted much of that, which is weird because that is the exact work the panel was convened to carry out.
What were they advising the government to do to stimulate business that the Government doesn't want us to know about?
