Earlier this year, a Chinese billionaire’s overly generous donation to the Trudeau Family Foundation brought a lot of criticism and allegations of cash for access fundraising practices by the Liberals.
For many, the very fact that Chinese millionaires and billionaires were so eager to fill the Trudeau Foundation coffers causes concern, especially when we see cabinet repeatedly approve the sales of Canadian companies to Chinese firms, many with state ties.
There was significant backlash against Trudeau and his family foundation for accepting foreign cash. And it was noted that the foundation didn’t receive many donations until his election as leader of the Liberal Party in 2013 but the money really started flowing in when he was elected Prime Minister in 2015.
This appearance of pay to play and the media storm that came with it, clearly caught the attention of the Prime Minister's Office and the Privy Council.
Watch as I share with you what we discovered in an access to information packet on the PMO’s communications department.
It does appear as though the PMO is monitoring every single access to information request that comes in, and in particular those related to the Trudeau foundation.
Their assessment that cash for access is a “contentious issue” is an understatement, but you can also read the media lines and spin employed to ensure that the public is informed about all of the foundation’s virtuous work.
You won't see an investigation or report like this from the media party though.
Yet again, it's up to the only truly independent and conservative media in this country to expose what this Liberal government is up to as they cover for their cash for access Prime Minister and his foundation accepting foreign cheques.
