It was a complete exorcism of Alberta's government last night.
The unofficial seat count results for the general election is holding at 63 for the United Conservative Party, with the former governing NDP reduced to just 24 seats.
Despite attempts by the NDP and their proxies in the mainstream media and at the Broadbent Foundation funded Press Progress to make this election about social issues, Albertans voted for jobs the economy and pipelines.
Today I'll analyze the results in ridings of conservative candidates that were specifically targeted for hit pieces by Press Progress. Let's just say it didn't go the way the NDP had hoped.
Conservative support hardened in those ridings.
I doubt the NDP and the progressive movement in Alberta will reflect much about the failure of their tactics of character assassination.
But I hope conservatives learned a valuable lesson last night about not capitulating to the left when they demand conservative heads on a platter.
