“What is it with Ontario teachers’ unions and their obsession with gender?” (Guest host: David Menzies)

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

(Ezra Levant is in the UK covering Tommy Robinson's fight against police harassment, so David Menzies is guest hosting tonight...)

So, the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation (OSSTF) conducted its Annual Meeting of the Provincial Assembly on the weekend.

I'm sure they speak about really, really important things regarding how kids are taught in Ontario. Well, maybe...

Because a friend sent along a photo about one of the seminars the tall foreheads at the OSSTF took part in:

“Preferred Gender Pronouns: How to Take Important Steps in Becoming a Trans Ally!”

This isn't a one-off oddity, either.

Remember back in 2017, when the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario released their new gender guidelines — and they got one famous-in-Toronto personality trouble on Tucker Carlson's show?

Meanwhile, let's just ignore the fact that less than half of Ontario Grade 6 students met the provincial standard in math for the 2017-2018 school year...

NEXT: Our Alberta Bureau Chief Sheila Gunn Reid joins me with more on her scoop (which has since been picked up, without credit, by the Media Party...) about where terrorist has hidden $3 million of his $10.5 million payout from Justin Trudeau.

LMAO @Stephenson, same old same old.

PROVE YOUR STATEMENT "“A plan that will inevitably result in the little darlings marching alongside the other unemployables in some future version of the Yellow Vests, either because they neglected to notice that some kid in Vietnam has access to the same resources and is just as qualified for a third the price, or because Darling is unable to get along with his non-binary coworker. The bubbled homeschool ones do really badly outside their bubble. ""

It is not up to me to prove or disprove anything “Stephenson” as YOU MADE THAT ORIGINAL CLAIM, prove it or shut up on a topic you know nothing about.
commented 2019-03-15 11:29:14 -0400
Poor educational outcomes (as highlighted by e.g. your Stanford admissions standards) are strongly related to poor economic outcomes. How many of those yellow-vesters hold university degrees? I would bet, very few.

You really haven’t refuted my claim either. A thesis admitting substantial selection bias supports my claim that this is all selection bias, the best do well but the average experience is below average.

LMAO @ Stephenson
Go back and read it in its entirety for I will not hold your hand and baby step you through it for that is beyond a major waste of time as proven time and again. You still keep veering off into the SAT info and NOT DEFENDING YOUR STANCE – Andrew Stephenson commented “A plan that will inevitably result in the little darlings marching alongside the other unemployables in some future version of the Yellow Vests, either because they neglected to notice that some kid in Vietnam has access to the same resources and is just as qualified for a third the price, or because Darling is unable to get along with his non-binary coworker. You keep proving to be a troll of programmed talking points period.

Andrew Stephenson actually it does not prove that, you are making a huge assumption about how many attempted to go there in the first place. Your logic is hugely flawed as usual. And we see how some students get into institutions in the US LMAO! "

It’s not an assumption. (although I do realize I made an arithmetic error, but my statement is still true).

0.5% of student body homeschooled. 27% of homeschooled applicants accepted. Therefore about 2% of applicants are homeschooled. Overall homeschool population about 3.5%. Homeschool applicants are underrepresented.

“Alberta Maga commented 10 hours ago
Andrew Stephenson the percentage of public school educated accepted is lower than overall total quite a bit as well so your argument in this case is ridiculous. "

Simply because they apply at higher rates. This makes application a more competitive – if more people apply, acceptance rates will fall. If fewer apply, acceptance rates rise.

“Quit Cherry Picking and look at all the numbers for a true statement!! "

What statistic am I supposed to look at? I never commented on the breakdown between private and public school. (I was going to, but edited it out once i realized it was irrelevant and my reply was getting too long). This article says nothing about homeschooling that would refute any of my claims. Did I miss something?

“From the link I posted is a link to a research paper. Isn’t leftard dogma “science” above all else? Apparently not! Interesting how the troll veered off into SAT stats rather than defending its/his/her original statement”

It’ a Masters’ thesis, not a paper. (It actually doesnt’ seem to have an accompanying paper in the literature), and further, it’s typical to highlight your point so we don’t have to wade through a 100 page document and make a wild guess as to what your point is. They admit the limitations of a self-reported survey as well (probably why it wasn’t published in a journal), and the primary topic of it isn’t academic outcomes. Which, to use your own Stanford example, aren’t that great. Perhaps they are indeed “happier” but they’re not particularly well-educated. Perhaps they don’t aspire to education.

Also, what does it have to do with religious-homeschooled not being a majority category, when most of the people here would fall into that category?
commented 2019-03-14 07:22:41 -0400
Well what can we expect Alberta Maga, that leftard troll IS a product of the No Child Left Behind Program as it/he/she proves time and again. Had the troll grasped what was in the links it would not have been so quick to defend its total ignorance, but that’s a libtard – all mouth and no brains.

My original posting was in reference to the troll bashing the home-schooled. The troll claimed : ""A plan that will inevitably result in the little darlings marching alongside the other unemployables in some future version of the Yellow Vests, either because they neglected to notice that some kid in Vietnam has access to the same resources and is just as qualified for a third the price, or because Darling is unable to get along with his non-binary coworker. The bubbled homeschool ones do really badly outside their bubble. " "

The troll doesn’t read it merely spews its propaganda. From the link I posted is a link to a research paper. Isn’t leftard dogma “science” above all else? Apparently not! Interesting how the troll veered off into SAT stats rather than defending its/his/her original statement.

This is why Stanford accepted 27% of homeschool applicants and 5% of traditional applicants."

Your article specifically claims that it’s not because of the quality of their schooling but rather because it allows them to focus on their extracurriculars. This suggests that they’re exceptional students to begin with, and homeschooled to nurture that talent, rather than because their parents don’t like science

I did a bit of digging: Stanford’s school intake is apparently about 0.5% homeschooled.
https://www.collegecrane.com/en/blog/stanford-admission-statistics

Meanwhile, somewhere around 3-4% of the overall population is homeschooled.
https://www.nheri.org/homeschool-population-size-growing/

This means that homeschooling actually reduces your chances of getting into Stanford.

The reason admission rates are so high, is that the mediocre ones don’t bother to apply. This means you’re seeing selection bias, not better outcomes. If a quarter of them get in, this means that only 1% of your applications are from homeschooled individuals, a third the rate you’d expect were they applying at the same rate as conventionally educated students.

The same phenomenon seems to be behind the “higher SAT” score claim. Very few of them actually write the SATs, and that would be biased towards the exceptional ones.

(This article specifically identifies selection bias as a factor in the finding!)

I didn’t even know the treasonous, murdering POS Islamic terrorist Khadr was married, is his ‘wife’ a retard, or a gold digger, or does she suffer from *hybristophilia?
Oh, she’s a lefty liberal human rights agitator…well that explains it then.

“…Khadr is appealing his U.S. war-crimes convictions. He was granted bail in May by the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench, which ruled he posed NO THREAT TO THE COMMUNITY…”
https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/omar-khadr-marrying-edmonton-human-rights-activist-who-helped-him-gain-his-freedom (from April 2016)

When you speak of justice and Khadr in the same breath Menzoid, the ONLY real justice would be for that murdering POS to be executed by the state…I would settle for anyone killing him at this point.
If he is killed, then can we get our money back?

Not a shocker that the leftard troll is yet again defending the current educational system, but this time by systematically attacking home schooling. Goes to show leftards only know their programmed talking points which really does not amount to much at all.

What got her into the most famous school in the world, one with a record-low 5.3% acceptance rate?
Homeschooling, she tells Boston Magazine.
Dickson is one of the 2.2. million kids homeschooled across the country. It’s a rising trend: According to the National Center for Education Statistics, the population grew by 61.8% from 2003 to 2012.
commented 2019-03-13 13:25:54 -0400
All this to protect what is estimated to be about .03 % of the population, almost statistically irrelevant.
Just growing up is confusing and introducing this level of chaos into their lives will destroy many if them and their parents and siblings.
Sick distorted minds invent and promulgate this corruption into our society and we seem totally impotent in stopping it.

- Way past time to purge the political activists from the education system. A sex ed program designed by a pedophile. Teaching gender theory as fact when it’s clearly a failed theory. These people have no business having anything to do with children.

- Canada under the Trudeau Liberals – millions paid to convicted terrorists but our veterans are asking for too much. Trudeau & Butts (2 White guys) call people Nazis & then fire an aboriginal woman for doing her job too well & replace her with another White guy who is corrupt to the bone. And on and on and on.

You could easily homeschool your children with the aid of the Internet and youtube. We have the resources, but we don’t have the funds. The leftist plan is working out perfectly!

A plan that will inevitably result in the little darlings marching alongside the other unemployables in some future version of the Yellow Vests, either because they neglected to notice that some kid in Vietnam has access to the same resources and is just as qualified for a third the price, or because Darling is unable to get along with his non-binary coworker. You’ll find that the channels that might actually teach you something useful (vs. the latest 45 minute ramble about Soros) all have the same subtle to overt leftward lean.

BIG EDUCATION” is the only industry, that yearly produces a poorer and poorer product ( students) at a greater and greater cost ( teacher salaries). If this ‘industry’ was operating in the private sector it would be out of business and appearing in bankruptcy court. Maybe, like preachers who turn their pulpits into political theatre and then wonder why their congregations are shrinking, teachers should concentrate on their jobs of educating students and likewise eschew the political garbage.

I agree this is part of their ideology and they are obsessed with it.Ideoligy comes before all else as if its the most important thing. They are determined wynnes god awful sex ed stays in place.Nothing must detrack from their liberal sexual ideology.Even if it forces their view on others who disagee its ok.Everyone must conform to the proper way of thinking, theirs.Their must not be any dissent because they are right and others are plainly wrong.

Teachers indoctrinate and in many cases they enforce their beliefs and leftist ideologies on your children.
Case in point ,take the young Roman Catholic student in Utah who was shamed by his teacher on Ash Wednesday for having ashes on his forehead ,a symbol of his faith.
Of course she apologized and lied about her ignorance if the symbology of the ashes on the child’s forehead.
This indoctrination of these ideas is going to poison an entire generation . And that is the purpose and intent .

They could put a lien on Khadr’s property. He won’t be able to borrow against it or sell it. And it acts like a little fly on his arm that won’t go away. It will drive him crazy!!

Canadian courts don’t usually pay out such large sums. Why so high? Ask them? That’s a more embarrassing question than it sounds.

There’s no way the various officers should’ve been in the court while each other is giving evidence.

The globalist plan is to make housing and the cost of living unaffordable to force both Canadian parents out of the home.
That’s why they allowed money laundering criminal organizations from China to destroy housing affordability for Canadians in Vancouver and Toronto and beyond while “our” politicians looked the other way and took their brown paper bags stuffed with cash and skulked away.
Welcome to the NWO and the “benefits” of globalism

Parents are caught between a rock and a hard place these days. Both parents must go out of the home to earn decent living, leaving them dependent on the “public daycare” system, A.K.A. public school system. You could easily homeschool your children with the aid of the Internet and youtube. We have the resources, but we don’t have the funds. The leftist plan is working out perfectly!
