“I’ve never seen anything like it”: Justin Trudeau goes to Calgary — and meets 2,000 angry protesters

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

Calgary isn’t much of a protest city — Vancouver is, with all of its professional environmentalists; Toronto and Montreal are, just because of their size and their rich labour union front groups. But not Calgary. It’s too busy working to chant on the streets

Now, though, times have changed. I'll show you the video — 2,000 protesters. I’ve never seen that in Calgary before; the last time I’ve heard of so much anger in the city was actually the early 1980s, when Doug Christie’s Western Canada Concept separatist party filled the Jubilee Auditorium.

It wasn’t even a rally — it was a full-out protest, and it was boisterous. I’ve seen violent rallies before in my day — always from paid, professional protesters on the left, often Antifa, often with masks or their faces covered. Not these folks — they were severely normal Albertans who are just at the end of their ropes.

But Calgarians have a sense of humour, too, as you'll see from some of their protest signs...

Not a bad way to blow off steam.

But not according to the bought and paid for Trudeau media.

Here’s how the CBC covered it — "Trudeau and Nenshi hugged it out."

Is that really the big news from yesterday from Alberta? 2,000 angry unemployed men and women at a noisy protest — but two leftists hugging is the CBC’s lead story? Because of course it is.

And look at Mariam Ibrahim, a former Postmedia reporter, who went to work for a left-wing Alberta labour union.

She is furious at those protesters:

"That is a fucking noose hanging from a tree on that guy's sweatshirt."

I looked really closely, and there IS noose on there.

It might not be in good taste. But it’s a joke. Because not everyone who is unemployed can go to work for Rachel Notley’s union front group to make six figures. Some people need a real job. But that’s all the Media Party needed to discredit 2,000 unemployed men and women with a legitimate grievance.

TONIGHT I'll show you the Media Party's reaction to that one sweatshirt, from reporters at the National Post and the Globe and Mail.

So the real news is that 2,000 Calgarians had a peaceful but noisy protest against unemployment being foisted upon them. And the media reports were that Nenshi and Trudeau hugged it out, and that someone wearing a novelty shirt wanted to kill Trudeau obviously and he’s really, really scary!

This isn’t going to get better. Trudeau and Morneau and McKenna are just fine with things the way they are. No pipeline is going to be built. Alberta will get poorer still.

Even when Notley loses next year, Trudeau will still block pipelines and tankers.

The only thing that’s changed in the past week is that Canada’s media is even more compromised, even more biased than ever.

This isn’t good...

NEXT: We hear a lot about how horrible Canada's residential schools were, and some of these criticisms may be legitimate. But what we don't hear is how many former students were actually grateful for this educational opportunity.

At The Rebel Live Calgary, I met a Rebel supporter named Gabe Desjardins. What he told me was so interesting, I've asked him to come on my show, to talk about his mother's experience in residential schools. It's a perspective you won't hear anywhere else.

FINALLY: Your messages to me!

The sweatshirt incident was brilliant. Without it the MSM would never have reported the protest. They really didn’t want to but the sweatshirt without some context would be pointless. And they couldn’t leave that sweatshirt alone. Not if it was a “threat” to The-Groping-Selfie-Prince.
No doubt the RCMP will be checking bags for rope now.

Wow – 2,000 people in Calgary of all places. LOL.

He will be re-elected and the mess of Scheer and Bernier will be contributing factor for that.

You sound very happy about this for a guy who previously claimed he wasn’t happy with The Groper.

The MSM has huge overhead and hundreds – sometimes thousands of employees and payroll needs to be met.

Not to mention 2 Billion dollars of the tax-payers money. If the CBC had to fly on their own they would be finished within a year.

Robert,

Your contributions here are great and will be missed. I hope you will be back before long. :)

Ron Joseph,

I meant to address that comment to you, not Rebelation (apology to Reb). I was agreeing with you actually :)

I will be going silent for a while..But until then..

Why must the sane people of Canada watch and feel the burn of Canada being burnt to the ground by Trudeau..Wynne and the Notley’s of the world??? They have nothing to add of value to civilized Canadian’s…NOTHING!! ..they are only concerned about the destruction of Canada..Trudeau is making up Laws to protect him so he can continue to DESTROY Canada!

Is there not one or two sane Politician’s in power right at this moment to stop this psychotic mentally disturbed maniac?

Look at what President Trump has just done as a Leader….

Oh look who’s here, it’s another alias, Nicholas, here to spew his usual detritus. How pathetic. As usual, no facts or figures to back up the garbage and lies, but that’s the usual MO. Go back to the CBC Nick, you are the worst troll ever.

ron joseph,

Except you ignore the fact that the MSM websites like the Toronto Star and CBC are absolutely murdering The Rebel when it comes to traffic. So yes, print media is dying, but people are not leaving MSM to go to the extreme right biased Rebel for “real” news.

The difference also is that The Rebel is run out of a shithole office with a handful of high turnover employees and contributors. Remember John Cardillo? No one was watching.

The MSM has huge overhead and hundreds – sometimes thousands of employees and payroll needs to be met.

Ezra is popular? LOL. That might be the dumbest statement of the weekend. Get out of your bubble and join reality.

Ted, you said that you agree with Rebelation, but he said the opposite of what you said??
commented 2018-11-24 15:51:19 -0500
Rebelation,

I agree with you; video is where it’s at today. It’s more emotionally connective, more current, less tiring, and less time consuming for the same amount of material. That’s why it has been steadily replacing print media.
commented 2018-11-24 15:42:54 -0500
Keith,

I agree with you about Trudeau, but we have to proceed on the assumption that we can unseat him and his party in the 2019 federal election if we VOTE STRATEGICALLY. That really is Canada’s only hope now.

REBELATION says- "People don’t mind reading stories. They do it all the time in the msm. Do you need to change the website format to do a mix of vids and print? "

Sorry Rebelation, but you receive the award for the dumbest statement of the weekend. The whole point is the PRINT MEDIA IS GOING OUT OF BUSINESS as people don’t want to read their old, fake news anymore, when they can get the stories on their TV, Radio, I-Phone and their computer! eg. (The Rebel)
This is the reason that the MSM is going to give up what little dignity they had in exchange for Gov’t subsides.

I follow Jack Buckby when his story in in video form; when he just prints it, I move on to the next story. Going by the number of comments in his printed storys, (1 or 2) many people agree with me.

This is one of the reasons Ezra is so popular, he either shows us video of the story or he reads the story and gives his opinion. If he just printed a page or two, there is no human connection to the story.

If what you say is true about printed media being so good, TV’s wouldn’t have been so popular for the last 70 years.

TED TADRIGHT commented 41 mins ago.
The Scheer/Bernier split will re-elect Trudeau unless conservatives………..
~~
Ted, Trudeau will never permit anything that may stop him winning the next election. He will use his power to block any opposition to him and he will do it now and he will do dirty, because he see’s himself as the supreme leader of the North American Continent. He desires to be rid of the civilized intelligent population and to bring in semi illiterate savages, who are controlled by the dogma of their archaic religion.
In my opinion, his goal is to rid Canada of what he refers to as Anglo Canadians and to him, this is anybody who is not from Quebec or not Islamic.

Trudeau is Mentally Disturbed.
commented 2018-11-24 13:21:59 -0500
The Scheer/Bernier split will re-elect Trudeau unless conservatives VOTE STRATEGICALLY in the 2019 election. This would not have been necessary if Bernier had restricted The PPC to Quebec, but since he is setting it up across Canada, it will be an electoral catastrophe for conservatives unless we do this: Check the polls to see which party (CPC or PPC) is leading in each province just prior to early voting in 2019, and VOTE FOR THAT PARTY IN THAT PROVINCE. That will elect enough CPC and PPC MP’s to form a conservative coalition government after the election. This is now the only way to avoid another four or more years of traitor government in Canada that will finish freedom and prosperity for good in this country.REMEMBER THIS IN 2019!

Ezra, I don’t know if you are aware that all the news you report on – that DOESN’T get reported anywhere else – is turning a certain segment of the population into very angry and frustrated Canadians, who feel very betrayed and put upon by the treason and criminality of the 5 P Professionals – the elitist members of society who are actually in a position to facilitate our destruction from within. I’m complaining about the message here, not the messenger.
If we want our country back, if we don’t want it to be completely destroyed by the criminal traitors acting to destroy Canada, from within, then we will lose our country, are losing our country!
There is only one truly effective way back to some kind of normal sovereign integrity, Canada style…that one effective way back is through the ‘removal’ of ALL the enemies of our country…in no uncertain terms. We can start with the 5 P Professionals…
I have asked this before, as have others here also, we all know something has to be done to save us, something likely desperate…BUT WHAT! WHAT CAN WE ACTUALLY DO? Voting is BS today – it’s a lie. I don’t know how they manage to skew the election results so much, even without electronics – in their favor – but they do and we are paying dearly for it. Ranting and raving on my laptop is…futile, and raises the blood pressure.
We are being cornered here, what do most people do when cornered? Some cower, some join the enemy, but some of us explode out of that corner fighting, fighting for our lives!
Smash the tyrant, take back what is ours – or perish.
Yeah…but how?
-———————————-
What a pleasant contrast listening to Mr. Desjardins, with his native intelligence and courage to speak up on a subject that has been made heretical and blasphemous in that irrational, fusty world of the lefty religionists…

There was no need for Trudeau to give millions to the MSM to push the Liberal agenda when they have been doing it for free for many, many years.

The increasing number of Nations pulling out of the UNs latest scam of world wide open boarders and mass movement of third world populations moving to the west, is a good sign, ‘BUT’ what are Trudeau’s views on this? I am sure he will welcome the masses of freeloaders who will line up waiting for their free flight to Canada and a handsome handout of cash, just to last them until they can start Freeloading in Canada. ‘BUT’ are we going to let him get away with it?

Dump the Trud.

I don’t think Harper should’ve apologized. It supports the destructive nature of the liberal mindset. Often in life, ppl don’t feel like victims, until you convince them they were. How many Natives today fall into that category? And you undermine their confidence when you do that. You take their eye off the self-improvement ball (looking inward to improve your own situation) and re-directs to the society-sucks ball (looking outward for sympathy from others for “what society did to you”).

After WWII, the Japanese gov forbid citizens and journalists from discussing WWII. They were moving forward – period! I think it’s the right approach. Any social worker will tell you that dredging up the past just opens old wounds and causes more harm than good.
