If you’re Justin Trudeau, is it a good idea to jack up tariffs on U.S. goods when you’ve got a U.S. president who loves picking fights with foreign countries over trade?
Justin Trudeau did it anyway.
So Donald Trump had a press conference yesterday. Talking about Trudeau’s tariff, Trump said:
“It’s another very typical one-sided deal against the United States and its not going to be happening for very long.”
So what did Trudeau do? Get on the phone with Trump? Fly down there?
No, he had his ambassador send a scolding public letter out, claiming that America shouldn’t be so haughty and high and mighty.
It wouldn’t surprise me if the 2019 Liberal re-election strategy is to pick a fight with Donald Trump.
That’s the only explanation that makes sense here.
Because the alternative is maybe just as bad:
That Trudeau and Butts really don’t have a clue how to run their government, or their diplomacy.
