Liberals tell companies: Disclose your “climate change risks” — or face fines

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

As we’ve discussed all week, Catherine McKenna, the Liberal Environment Minister, has no clue about the science or economics of global warming. But it all just got crazier.

Tonight I’ll show you excerpts from her speech to Toronto bankers yesterday.

For example, she claimed that the spring floods in Calgary, and the wildfire in Fort McMurray, were global warming related.

But those are lies.

The fires were caused by people (and spread because Notley cut the firefighting budget — It was the only thing she cut last year...)

And as to the 2013 flood in Calgary? The 1932 flood was 10 per cent higher, and it wasn’t because Model T Fords were driving around pre-oilpatch Alberta.

Regardless, Catherine McKenna has a new plan. A threat, really:

“You better be aware that you’re going to need to disclose the risks of climate change to your business models, or else you may be held financially responsible.”

What does that even mean?

Look: Catherine McKenna isn’t really worried about global warming. She’s worried about pushing her political agenda — taxing, regulating, punishing.

And forcing every company in that Bay Street meeting to hire some junk science, junk economics blatherskite to do a “climate audit” and “climate risk analysis.”

It’s all fake. But so what, if it makes her and her friends rich, and punishes her political enemies?

That’s the Liberal way.

NEXT: Meet our Washington, DC Bureau Chief, Jack Posobiec!

He's already brought us an exclusive, about Obama surveilling Donald Trump as early as 2011.

THEN: National Review contributor Andrew McCarthy joins me to discuss the column everyone's talking about today, in which he calls the Susan Rice "unmasking" saga a "Watergate-style scandal.

We sort out the facts of this evolving story from the fiction and media spin.

FINALLY: Your messages to me!

If the world is genuinely “going in that direction” then Canadian businesses wouldn’t need the corkscrews of eco-fascism to take advantage of those opportunities.

Trudeau’s cabinet are all “inconceivably obtuse”.

Jane Yourkevich…. Further to your statement about government cronyism and shady operations in the “green energy” sector. Just wait until Justin gets his “legal weed” program in full motion. It is already stacked from top to bottom, from grow house to JT’s throne itself, and all stops in between. All liberals, all bloodsuckers, ALL thieves!!!…………ADSCAM REVISITED

- The whole climate alarmism scam was always about making governments larger & more intrusive & bring in endless revenue streams through “green” taxes. The problem has always been that the pseudoscience doesn’t hold up to scrutiny & the green scams always turn into a disaster. I’m not surprised the Liberals still cling to this nonsense. They’re a match made in hell.

- Great to see the Rebel growing so fast. The rebel fills a need for actual news. Jack Posobiec looks like another great addition to the team.

- Abuse of power was commonplace with the Obama administration. What’s interesting is that during the election Trumps past was put under a microscope & the best they could come up with was the locker room video. They put him under surveillance & have come up largely empty.

Jane Yourkevich, Well said!

Maybe it is time in this country we have a pre requisite that before running for Parliament you actually passed a university or college course that has meaning. and that there is iq test before you run in an election. Unlike McKenna who seems to personify the dumb blond.

Government officials should have to disclose their private investments to ensure no conflict of interests exist. I would wager that all government Liberals are heavily invested personally in renewable energy. What do you think?

The globalist plan is to crash our monetary system, and implement a one world currency. No one will be able to buy, sell or trade without the number of the beast. A beast in the Holy Bible is the government. Does anyone remember what happened in Cyprus? That was a trial run. Just a reminder to all the Christians out there, don’t accept this number or you’ll be doomed to hell, with the likes of this evil cult.

If you want to read about the plan, check out James Rickards book, entitled “The Road to Ruin!” It’ll make your hair stand on end.

I am curious to know what climate Barbies position is on carbonated beverages. How can this government continue to let us drink carbon pollution? Idiots.

I have to give a shout out to Paul Maurice, although I would not use quite the same wording as he did, Paul, spot on!

If you live in Alberta & are lucky enough to still have a job, you are hanging onto that job by the skin of your teeth. That job would also be at about 60% less pay and crappy, if any, benefits for you & your family. What Justing Trudeau, Rachel Notley & Catherine McKenna are doing to job prospects and investment in Alberta is pitifull & quite frankly inconceivably obtuse.

I guess it would be too much to ask the Conservatives in Ottawa to demand that Climate Barbie undergo a psychiatric evaluation before she is allowed to babble again?… Thought not… Just wishing…

Unrelated to this story but i saw an interesting comment on Twitter about bill 89. It basically asked if the liberals had not learned anything from their residential school idiocy, there is a valid comparison in many ways between residential schools and this bill. I will enjoy reminding the trolls of that.

For some reason Bombardier will never have a problem with this.

All companies should just send this in-
Due to the fact my company has absolutely no effect on the Sun , it will have no effect on climate change.
Thank You for your Time

Bravo Zulu, Until they go to a mandatory cashless society which has long been a goal of the globalists to prevent this kind of end run around their tyranny.

A major project took place about 5 miles from my house.

Every bit of it was done with cash.

Not one piece of paper.

All workers paid in cash.

That cash economy is growing rapidly in my part of the world.

And it will continue.

a BIG One finger salute to McKenna – the Lieberal’s BJ queen! – from an Alberta small business man. You stupid bitch – you fly all your idiot admirers to a global climate "conference – where you spend 1000s of tax payers $$ spoofing your unintelligent agenda – while using up several 1000 times your carbon footprint – then you think we are going to fall for your absolute idiotic, lunatical plan of fining us for not doing your risk assessment?? Get a grip bitch – you just wasted your retirement fund!! You LOOSELOSER!! COME & COLLECT!!

Bill Elder

I twigged on to malfeasance a while back, and I quite agree. . . . . the plaintiff must prove that the defendant owed a duty of care, that the duty was breached in some way, and that the breach caused injury to the plaintiff.

Please people lets take a breath and relax. I have it on good advice that clueless Katy has already figured out the solution for this yet to be determined problem about that damned climate change stuff. She has reached out to Leonardo Decrapio who has promised to look into this new flooding stuff in Alberta as soon as he fixes the new problem of those nasty chinook winds that he discovered a couple of years ago that proved that manmade climate change was real. He said it made the snow melt so fast even the locals started to believe in climate change. With Leos real world knowledge, Katies knowledge of !!!!!, and Justins deep and generous pockets, what could possibly go wrong.

Business people really need to grow a spine. All those suits in that room should’ve shouted her down and walked out, and threatened her right back . . . you do madame and we’re heading to the US!! It’s long overdue for them to get as politically involved as their usually accused of.

Once you start something, it cements really quickly, due to vested interests that converge on the new opportunity (Why Nations Fail). The biggest danger in Mckenna’s plan, is that it will add thousands more to the already thousands of ppl in this fake industry, making it harder to get rid of. Additionally, what you’ll end up with, in essence, is a Government Minder in every company, and just imagine how their role will expand over time and the havoc they’ll wreak. They’ve added tons more reasons for co’s to head south!!

Jack is an excellent scoop Ezra – good job!! You have a great eye for talent, which is key to building TheRebel.

The climate warming pseudo-science used to justify this kleptocratic rape of the economy and consumer, is mathematically provably WRONG! Which makes carbon taxing as a public policy not only constitutionally unwarranted but puts those politicians pimping this sbake oil liable to malfeasance charges or worse.
