As we’ve discussed all week, Catherine McKenna, the Liberal Environment Minister, has no clue about the science or economics of global warming. But it all just got crazier.
Tonight I’ll show you excerpts from her speech to Toronto bankers yesterday.
For example, she claimed that the spring floods in Calgary, and the wildfire in Fort McMurray, were global warming related.
But those are lies.
The fires were caused by people (and spread because Notley cut the firefighting budget — It was the only thing she cut last year...)
And as to the 2013 flood in Calgary? The 1932 flood was 10 per cent higher, and it wasn’t because Model T Fords were driving around pre-oilpatch Alberta.
Regardless, Catherine McKenna has a new plan. A threat, really:
“You better be aware that you’re going to need to disclose the risks of climate change to your business models, or else you may be held financially responsible.”
What does that even mean?
Look: Catherine McKenna isn’t really worried about global warming. She’s worried about pushing her political agenda — taxing, regulating, punishing.
And forcing every company in that Bay Street meeting to hire some junk science, junk economics blatherskite to do a “climate audit” and “climate risk analysis.”
It’s all fake. But so what, if it makes her and her friends rich, and punishes her political enemies?
That’s the Liberal way.

He's already brought us an exclusive, about Obama surveilling Donald Trump as early as 2011.
THEN: National Review contributor Andrew McCarthy joins me to discuss the column everyone's talking about today, in which he calls the Susan Rice "unmasking" saga a "Watergate-style scandal.
We sort out the facts of this evolving story from the fiction and media spin.
