Conservatives panic, throw carbon tax protesters to the media wolves

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

As you know, we had a great rally in Edmonton on Saturday. Nearly 3,000 severely normal Canadians came, to say they don’t want a carbon tax.

Brian Jean, the leader of the Wildrose opposition, was there. So was Chris Alexander, who’s running for the federal Conservative leadership.

One of the fun moments — and it was literally 20 seconds — was when, in the middle of Chris Alexander’s speech, some rally-goers chanted, “Lock her up”, an echo of the chant at Donald Trump’s rallies, whenever he mentioned that Hillary Clinton was under criminal investigation.

You’ve got 9 per cent unemployment in Alberta, more than 10 per cent in Calgary, families are hurting. We heard lots of painful stories at the rally, and for 20 seconds they had a fun chant.

CBC’s “The National” last night turned the “lock her up” chant into a national news story, and an opportunity to invite the entire political class to demonize the 3,000 citizens for… not protesting Rachel Notley’s carbon tax politely enough.

But the worst reaction came from some Conservative politicians, people who are supposed to stand up for Albertans.

I’ll show you what they said:

Quotes from Brian Jean himself. Chris Alexander himself. Jason Kenney, who wasn’t even there, and Rona Ambrose.

Here’s the thing. Pleasing your enemies does not turn them into friends. It demoralizes your real friends. And 200,000 unemployed Albertans could sure use a friend right now.

That’s why we’re having another rally, this Sunday, at 3pm, this time in Calgary. CLICK HERE for all the details, and RSVP so we can plan ahead.

NEXT: Chris Berg of Australia's Institute of Public Affairs, joins me to explain why his country abandoned its carbon tax just a short time after it was signed into law.

THEN: Raheel Raza is in the studio to talk about Angela Merkel's proposed burqa ban.

FINALLY: I read your messages to me, good and bad!

And they’re still fuckin crying

Ya sure do it. I’m amazed that a few of us could get that much attention
commented 2016-12-06 21:36:11 -0500
Where were the politicians those people at the rally voted into power to represent THEM?

It’s certainly no wonder conservative politicians keep losing. Rona Ambrose lost me when she dissed Harper. This liberal appeasement is obviously a losing strategy and if they still can’t figure that out then they never will. They can all cross the floor to their safe space along with Jansen.

Not one of these Conservative leadership hopefuls thought sticking up for ordinary citizens was a good idea? When these citizens were being pilloried for a harmless, and clearly sarcastic, chant? I think it tells us all we need to know about them. This is the opening a new prospective leader needed.

F—-Off I havnt’ laugh so much in a long time. You made my day!

Just got a call from the conservative supporter services looking for a donation. Now I have donated in the past but after seeing that conservative politicians have thrown Albertans under the bus I am NOT inclined to donate anything else until I can see them standing up for unemployed people instead of dissing them.. I’ll keep on supporting the Rebel, thanks very much.

I am getting tired of seeing conservative leaders kowtowing to the mainstream media at every opportunity. We need leaders with a big set of gonads who will stand up for their members who were holding a peaceful rally to protest an expensive carbon tax which will do no good and only cost a hell of a lot more job loss.

“Legion of morons” certainly summarizes the brain dead leeches in our government. I never thought I’d hear conservatives agreeing with left-wing destroyers. I love your passion Ezra, and you speak for all of us, at least those of us who are against the communists that are driving our country, and our people into the ground. Shame on Brian Jean, Jason Kenney, Chris Alexander and Rona, the two-faced wanna be liberal’s, hiding in conservative clothing. And those in the MSM for having the absolute gall to call people at a legal protest, pigs. When in fact it is they that are the real pigs. The pigs getting paid out of our tax dollars. This legal protest is certainly outing the liberal clones hiding in conservative garb. There were more than 3,000 protesters at that rally, because many of us couldn’t make it, but we were there in spirit!

EZRA , 3000 people , that is a big crowd , but when you have a rally on your tonite show , the crowds are in the 10s of thousands if not hundreds of thousands , we just have to find an appropriate candidate for them to trust

Could you get that second studio built faster ??

Yeah , share this one on u tube

The Rally for Alberta link in the story still points to the page that has the details for the Edmonton rally on December 3. If there is a rally scheduled for Calgary on December 11, the link should be fixed. I’m trying to relay the details to friends, family and co-workers.

Lol. I just finished the intro. Fucken eh! I’ll get back to ya. Back to the show. No wonder they didn’t call Trump a conservative

Great energy Ezra. Your intro was spot on. I feel sorry for the people that don’t know about or are too closed-minded to listen to the other side of the MSM argument – Rebel media.
I think the Rebel should try to organize something with KellyAnne Conway when she goes to Alberta next month. A protest/gathering with her as guest speaker? At least an interview.

The upside is that surely this will expose who’s who in the CINO race. That oughta thin the heard somewhat.

Excellent monologue, Ezra!

Now, how about you make that entire monologue available to everyone so they all can hear it.

When your elected politicians are hellbent on destroying your life it’s no time to be polite.

Scorched earth agenda for regressive socialism.

Appeasement doesn’t work. Harper found that out.
