Of course Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. That’s been true for thousands of years. Read your Bible. Or read a history book.
The reason why so many countries, like Canada and the United States, don’t have our embassies in Jerusalem is because of the Arab countries surrounding Israel. For decades the oil-dependent west has had to balance being normal, and having their embassies in Israel’s normal capital city, with the thuggish demands of oil-rich Arab dictatorships.
The United States Congress has voted overwhelmingly to move the capital to Jerusalem. But those same politicians knew that U.S. presidents, both Republican and Democrat, would sign a “waiver” at the last moment, saying it would be too damaging to U.S. interests to actually move it.
But then a funny thing happened: Donald Trump.
Today, he just did it. I'll show you his press conference.
Al Jazeera had a helpful round-up of all the Muslim world leaders. Some anger and bluster, but not much.
We’ll see if there’s a third intifada. But this time, I doubt it. Because moving the embassy to Jerusalem is not a sign of weakness. It is a sign of strength.
And we know how Arab dictators react to weakness, and strength.
But here’s what I really want to show you: Western liberal reaction. NBC News, CNN, the UK Guardian, which said:
Donald Trump to plunge Middle East into 'fire with no end' with Jerusalem speech
Wow. Not even the Arabs said that.
I bet if Stephen Harper were prime minister, he'd move our embassy to Jerusalem, too.
But Justin Trudeau is more into paying terrorists like Omar Khadr $10.5 million. That’s how he thinks peace will arrive. The peace of submission...
NEXT: Breitbart.com's Joel Pollak comes on for a closer look at Trump's decision, and what will happen now.
THEN: You've probably heard about Bitcoin, but if you still don't quite understand what this "cryptocurrency" is all about, watch my conversation tonight with Preston Byrne, a Fellow with the Adam Smith Institute.
He's alsoan expert on the topic, as well as on blockchain and other technology that's starting to change the way we live.
FINALLY: Your messages to me!
