Justin Trudeau has been meeting with Chinese billionaires and taking donations — not just for himself, but for the Trudeau Foundation and a few of his other favourite things.
To their credit, the mainstream media is covering Trudeau’s scandalous fundraisers. Some of them are probably shocked and disgusted that the bad old days of the Libranos and Adscam-style money grubbing are back.
Sometimes corruption is just about money — and Trudeau loves money.
But Trudeau craves status, too — especially amongst foreigners. He loves foreign travel, but the real leaders laugh at him.
Here’s my point:
All of Trudeau’s bizarre donations and bizarre promises to deploy Canadian troops to obscure countries in Africa no-one can find on a map — that’s strange, too. What’s behind it all, and his meeting with George Soros?
It took eight years before the FBI’s James Comey questioned Hillary Clinton; It’s taken barely eight months for Trudeau to be grilled by the ethics commissioner over this fundraising scandal.
Remember the national hysteria over Stephen Harper’s greatest scandal in his ten years of government? That his chief of staff cut a cheque to the government for $90,000, to repay questionable expenses on behalf of a Senator?
But Justin Trudeau meeting with Chinese billionaires and leaving with his friends pocketing millions?
That’s just the Trudeau way...
It’s a funny book, but it’s a serious problem that the man who says these crazy things is the prime minister.
THEN: Our own Faith Goldy and I talk about Trudeau's Christmas party — except he called it a "holiday party."
But isn't it funny that Trudeau dresses up in "ethnic" costumes and goes to mosques, yet he can't bring himself to even acknowledge a Christian celebration?
FINALLY: I explain why, as a Jewish Canadian, I believe we should all respect the nation's Christian traditions, like Christmas.
