“The mainstream media has gotten very tame” (Guest: Barbara Kay)

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

In the new year, National Post columnist Barbara Kay will be joining the Rebel as our Montreal correspondent.

We talk about how political correctness evolved and whether or not it has a future.

As well, we talk about subjects ranging from slavery and terrorism to immigration and the mainstream media.

I call Kay a "conservative feminist," but she prefers the term "equity feminist" and explains the difference.

What topics will she be tackling for us starting in 2017?

MSM “gotten tame” ?? I wouldn’t know. I won’t even waste the energy to turn on CBC , CTV or any of their affiliates anymore Its simply too sickening to listen to.

I have read Barbara"s comments in the National Post for the past few years, which to me have been based on good research and common sense conclusions. I look forward to seeing more of her postings with The Rebel and think that you have made a very good choice of adding her to your team, Ezra.

Looking forward to her comments.

Anonymous……lmao…..and yet here you are, supporting this site. Spoken like the true leftist regressive fucktard you are. OH…..and a coward who won’t use their real name. You are one of the hypocrital, regressive lefts (Useful Idiots).

Barbara Kay joining The Rebel is what finally convinced me to join! Looking forward to listening to your clips. I have called myself an egalitarian feminist for years!
Welcome aboard!

RON VOSS, I’m curious, do you ever post comments without including the term “useful idiots” (in quotes no less)? Are you suffering some kind of turretic thing or are you expecting people to be impressed you’ve read something?

I find your use of the term immensely ironic given where you comment – if there was ever a definition of useful idiots (I mean “useful idiots”) it’s the folks who support this site.

Mr Dick. I appreciate and respect your right to stand in opposition to Barbara Key joining the reporting staff of the Rebel news media. But in doing so, I expect a rational and informed rebuttal from you as to your reasons. Stating that " second hand news" from the NP is not in my opinion, sufficient. But by all means, rational, informed objection, is most welcome. Unlike the MSN.

- Political correctness came out of the Frankfurt school as a form of censorship. The left-wing utopian disasters were wonderfully explained in this Bill Whittle video – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqUiE-vJ-64&t=12s – Trump will do what any good business owner would do, set his goals & then surround himself with the best people he can get. Trudeau is out of his league.

MSM is corporate conformity and all who react on it’s narratives are corporate dupes

“Useful idiots” usually spend their time watching the CBC who forcefully take taxpayer’s hard-earned money that could be better spent elsewhere if they had a choice.

Robert Dick: It seems obvious that you didn’t acquire your surname without good reason.

So glad to hear that Barbara Kay is going to be a part of The Rebel team in 2017. However, as an “alt-right” (hate that term) female with an “alt-left” adult son, I can’t help but wonder what her day-to-day relationship is with Jonathan Kay, as I know mine with my son is tenuous at best, due to his illogical political and sociological leanings.

Jonathan Kay was unscrupulous when he was writing for “The National Post” by pretending to be a conservative commentator, although it was more than obvious from his writing that he was a quisling, especially after it was revealed that he was the ghostwriter for Justin Trudeau’s fatuous “memoir” (as if Justin Trudeau has ever done anything worth memorizing).

Of course, all the sycophants in the MSM, as well as Justin Trudeau, insisted that the literary obelisk to himself, “Common Ground”, was created entirely by his own magnificent intellect, which was proven to be completely untrue.

Sorry Ezra,
Barbara Kay is a bore. Couldn’t get through the whole 25 minutes.
The small-dose interviews are bad enough.
Your viewers’ hard-earned $ could be better spent elsewhere.
I don’t come to the rebel to get National Post sloppy seconds.
Just my 2 cents.

Rebelation Rebelation—-Thanks for correcting me on “no holds barred” instead of “no holes barred,” I will take your advise and keep away from the Craigslist sex ads as they are affecting my grammar. Its quite rare when the East gives the West good advise.

Good Job Ezra! Getting someone like Barbara on board is excellent. Not only because she’s from Quebec, but when you add reporters from the msm, it ups your credibility in the broader public sphere.

All the best in 2017!!

Anonymous. Really bros? Ezra needs reporters across the country, otherwise he’s west against east, and the west is better off with those of us in the east that agree with you and have your back!

Ron. Nice compliment, however, it’s “no HOLDS barred”, not “holes”. Holes is something you find in the sex ads on Craigslist LOL!!

Not all cultures are equal. DELECTABLE LIE – is an excellent book, written by a Muslim Libertarian. Worth the read.

I read Barbara in the National Post and like her common sense writing. Looking forward to seeing her on the Rebel.

Dear "Anonymous’… First of all, please get the balls to use your real name when posting, eh?… Secondly, since you are evidently bereft of knowledge of the Canadian news scene in the past decade, try to come up to speed on the fact that unlike her leftie leaning son, Jonathan Kay, who set the leftie lean for the opinion pages of the National Post for the current crowd, Barbara Kay has always been a clear voice for Canadian conservatism and conservative thought, ESPECIALLY , since her home is in Quebec… She is indeed, one of the few remaining reasons for reading the National Post today, given its obvious leftward rush to denigrate Harper in the last federal election…
commented 2016-12-31 01:55:11 -0500
Oh dear god. Not more news from Quebec.

Ezra, if you are going to hire new reporters, get somebody in either Sask or Manitoba. That is where the conservative governments are in power.

Thanks, Ezra, thanks, Barbara. Happy New Year!

Ezra, the best Barbara Kay interview yet. I’ve watched at least 3 and in the previous ones, she seemed afraid to say anything over the top. This time she let loose and exhibited her talent with no holes barred.
Looking forward to her next year.

Utopianism has never worked in the past, ending up as dystopia and will never work in the future because of the very nature of man (The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? – Jeremiah 17:9).

Looking forward to Barbara Kay’s commentaries in the new year! A very pleasant intelligent lady.

We will miss the huggies between Barry and Justin…no more huggies with the Donald☺

I feel that the points that you both raised reflect the thoughts/values that many Canadians and Americans, and now too, Europeans feel about what is happening to Western Culture, the foundation of the civilized society we live in today.

Excellent interview with Barbara Kay, Ezra. One of the best yet. Keep up the good work. I look forward to watching Barbara’s reports.

Good conversation. Look forward to Barbara Kay. The Rebel is accumulating all sorts of new cred.
I so agree that Justin’s reign ended when Trump was elected. He will indeed be the outlier. He is too late to the Marxist party. Everyone is leaving and he seems to think it can still be the wind under his wings. Just goes to show you that ‘youth’ and beauty isn’t everything.
Justin and his entire premise for drawing breath every morning is becoming boring to those who swooned over him. Onward and upward. Results, the potential for growth and prosperity will easily over shadow Justin Zoolander’s antic’s. Justin, I never cared, but nobody will pretty soon. It will be hard to love you when we are tanking and America is soaring. The contrast will just be too hard to ignore.

Justin going down.

And now Barbara Kay is on board! Excellent, Ezra!

This coming year at The Rebel is going to be a good one.
