The University of California at Berkeley was once known for academic excellence. Did you know that there is an element on the periodic table, named after them, discovered there in 1949.
Berkeley started to wobble ten years later, though. But at least Berkeley’s early 1960s radicals said they believed in the First Amendment.
Today, Berkeley is a joke.
We’ve all seen the riots against gay libertarian provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos (who is the kind of person who thrived in Berkeley fifty years ago...)
Today? Their Daily Californian college paper ran five essays from students… defending the violence.
But what about half the campuses in Canada, too?
The joke’s on any parent who scrimps and saves to send their children to get a top-flight education — and winds up putting them in a swamp of incoherent Orwellian nonsense.
Buy your kids Shakespeare, an old edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica, and the Bible. That’s enough.
Send them to trade school instead. They’ll actually get a good job, they’ll learn more, and they won’t be turned into the violence-loving, anti-social, unemployable kooks that Berkeley is churning out...
