Immigrants must now swear to honour Indian treaties. Will Trudeau do the same?

Rebel Staff

Lots of challenges with new immigrants to Canada. Some conservatives like Kellie Leitch talk about having a Canadian values test. She’s been called racist by every journalist in the country, and of course by the Trudeau Liberals.

But look at this: Trudeau does believe in Canadian values, after all.

Coming soon, immigrants will have to swear, not to uphold western liberal values, but:

…that I will faithfully observe the laws of Canada, including treaties with Indigenous peoples…

Except that doesn’t make sense.

Those treaties were signed between Indian bands and a representative of the Queen. Canadian citizens are not party to those treaties, so they can’t “faithfully observe” them.

It would be like telling you to observe and abide by the contract that Tom Cruise has with his movie studio.

Trudeau’s made another change:

Now the Department of Aboriginal Affairs will be called the Department of Indigenous Affairs.

How many millions do you think it took to change all the letterhead, business cards, signs, and websites?

Meanwhile, during the campaign, Trudeau vowed to fix the bad drinking water in almost one hundred Aboriginal communities.

How’s that pledge coming along...?
