Guess which Liberal MP wants to ban “fake news”…

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

Justin Trudeau’s Liberals want to study the scourge of “fake news,” and see how they can ban it.

One of the Liberal MPs excited about this venture is Seamus O’Regan, the former journalist from CTV’s Canada AM. Now he wants to regulate other journalists, to make sure they don’t say anything fake. (That is: anything that might look bad on him and his boss, Justin Trudeau...)

And Hedy Fry, the Liberal MP from Vancouver, is also leading this charge against fake news.

Yes, this is the same Hedy Fry who once stood up in the House of Commons, and said:

"We could just go to Prince George, British Columbia, where crosses are being burned on lawns as we speak.”

Of course, there has never been a police report of a cross burning — a KKK activity — in Prince George’s history. She just made it up.

I don’t want to ban what Hedy Fry has to say. I think everyone should know what an idiot she is.

I don’t even want to ban the CBC, and their fake news stories about Trudeau’s socks.

I just don’t want to have to pay for that kind of fake news through my taxes...

NEXT: Obama supporter Alan Dershowitz recently expressed shock and disappointment over the outgoing president's recent treatment of Israel.

Tonight, the Rebel's own Barbara Kay comes on to say that, given "Obama’s education, mentors and ideology," no one has any right to be surprised.

THEN: Notley's NDP has actually called for the opposition Wildrose Party to fire one of their MLA's because he is a climate change skeptic. Today, the target of this witch hunt, Don MacIntyre, comes on to talk about this push to punish him for daring to criticise the carbon tax.

Ezra, here is a thought, and no disrespect intended, but you always interview the commited to your ( our) message. I think it might be more impactful to interview those in opposition to the message. My view is that it is important to demolish the other view.. with logic, example and intelligent rebuttal. What do you think? Likely, initially anyway, you will be refused. Perfect. Embarrase them for refusing to engage. That will goad them into accepting your invite. Remember, these self proclaimed Oracle’s have egos beyond their intelligence levels. Might be fun. Maybe start with Peter Mansbridge?

- If they want to ban fake news they can start with the CBC. What they actually want to do is study rather or not they can get away with European style censorship & how much it will cost them at the polls. I’ve been looking at alternatives to Twitter, Facebook & YouTube. I’m looking at Gab, Seen.Life & Vid.me. They’re small at the moment but so was Facebook back when Myspace was all the rage. Things can change quickly on the internet.

- The climate cult cannot withstand any scrutiny. The pseudoscience is falling apart & the globalists behind it are in full desperation. The mainstream media is their lapdog. What’s not to understand? Green energy isn’t green & it isn’t viable as an energy source on a large scale. It makes governments & their cronies rich & everyone else poor.

- John Kerry is the reason George Bush got a second term. Obama is leaving office with no accomplishments at all. The one thing he actually achieved, Obamacare, was a disaster from day one & is falling apart even before he leaves office. As far as his legacy is concerned, I believe he’ll either become the forgotten president or he’ll be known as the worst president in American history.

Yes it will not be too much longer before the CBC will be the sole news outlet in Canada. And there will no need of elections.

Fake News? Well here’s the opportunity of the century! Donald Trump should embrace and seize this fake news initiative. Under the auspices of fake news, he should immediately declare CNN and all their ilk as fake news propagators based on a consistent pattern of pre-election media manipulation. Using Fake News as justification, he can order them off line, just for a while, say 30 days like Facebook does, so they might consider behaving responsibly in future. The knife cuts two ways.

Yeah, trust the idiot lib/left to promote a fake issue and propose “solving” it by censoring their opponents. Though while these hypocritical flakes maybe stupid, they’re dangerous.

I agree with Don MacIntyre, 2019 cannot come fast enough.

Fake news has the same validity as Anthropogenic Climate Change … i.e. no credibility at all.

Since the whole concept of “fake news” is an invention of the socialist left, we all know that the definition of “fake news” will be anything that the censors (the socialist left) do not like.

Censoring “fake news” is just another method that the left is going to use to curtail freedom of speech, most likely on anyone on the political right.
