Liberals panic as news of $10.5M Omar Khadr payoff hits U.S.

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

I’m sure Trudeau and his handlers did not expect the national fury that erupted after Canadians learned the details of his $10.5 million payoff to convicted, confessed terrorist Omar Khadr.

According to one poll, 71 per cent of Canadians are against the payment, including a majority of every political stripe.

Well, if you think we’re angry, how about Americans?

It was their soldiers who were killed or injured. And some learned about this payoff on the Fourth of July.

Others heard about it later, after Peter Kent, the Conservative MP, wrote a column about it in the Wall Street Journal, and another Conservative MP, Michelle Rempel, went on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News program.

The Liberals’ reaction to this was quite something:

Gerald Butts, Justin Trudeau’s principal secretary, raged that the Conservatives were talking about this deal in public!

Catherine McKenna, a viciously anti-Trump cabinet minister, tweeted that Rempel had single-handedly imperilled Canada’s NAFTA negotiations with Trump.

The Media Party still loves Trudeau, but for once, the regular people, and some American “deplorables” too — well, we’re not loving it, and we’re not letting it go:

For one thing, at SpeerKids.com we're continuing to crowdfund $1 million for the children left fatherless by Omar Khadr.

NEXT: Rebel co-founder Brian Lilley has become familiar to Americans over the last few days, as he's appeared on U.S. media (and even some Canadian outlets!) to talk about this scandal, and about his campaign SpeerKids.com.

THEN: I talk to our Alberta Bureau Chief Sheila Gunn Reid about where her province's "unite the right" efforts currently stand.

“Ayan Ray, This payment was unprecedented in Canada, Khadr is the first convicted/admitted terrorist to be given a surreptitious payment by the government & apology.”

Unprecedented does mean wrong by default.

Khadr’s convicion in the US is currently on appeal because he confessed under duress. Have you heard of the presumption of innocence?

A public apology cannot be surreptitious!

“The 71% who vehemently disagree with secret payout does not equal what your ridiculous post claims, you said, "According your specious argument, Hitler did the right thing by killing all the Jews simply because the majority of Germans supported him. "
The muslim apologist playbook is getting overused in your hands. Your feeble minded arguments are laughable at best; and, is proof of how firmly in place you bigotry is."

What is laughable is your lame reply.

According your specious argument, Hitler did the right thing by killing all the Jews simply because the majority of Germans supported him.

The majority is not always right. The majority can be biased, prejudiced, uninformed, misinformed, susceptible to manipulation and so on. Unlike in the US, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms has protected and advanced minority rights in this country and made it a better place for all.

“Because UK and Australia made similar deals with terrorists doesn’t make a difference to me. I live in Canada…”

Then you should not be reading and commenting on an article titled “Liberals panic as news of $10.5M Omar Khadr payoff hits U.S.”

" Incredibly despicable, 71% agree!"

Ayan, you dolt. Rebel already reported on this matter.
Because UK and Australia made similar deals with terrorists doesn’t make a difference to me. I live in Canada and the mindless hairdo running this country paid a convicted terrorist. Incredibly despicable, 71% agree!

What Ezra Levant and the like won’t tell you.

“An Ontario Superior Court judge has turned down a request for a freeze order on Omar Khadr’s $10.5-million settlement.

Lawyers for the widow of a U.S. soldier killed in Afghanistan, and another injured U.S. soldier, were in court seeking a freeze order pending the final outcome of their bid to get an Ontario court to force Mr. Khadr to hand over his settlement to them.

We don’t, thank goodness, in Canada have one law for Omar Khadr and one law for all other Canadians," Justice Belobaba told the courtroom in announcing his decision.

To what other three payouts are you referring, Abbasid?

Spot on Ezra. The Trudeau/Khadr scandal should never be allowed to rest or become faded with time. This story must be kept alive, for the victims, for the insult to our pockets, for the insult to our sensibilities and reputations, but mostly because this highlights what this PM is capable of, the depths he will stoop to. This is an important story for Canada, our survival as a country we can recognise as our own, is at stake.
Trudeau is about as unCanadian as you can get.

Keep pounding the facts of this case, our Canadian media will always cover for Trudeau and their new pet, Omar Khadr, a convicted terrorist. Rosie Barton should get her facts straight before she tries to school the guy who has first hand knowledge, Sergeant Morris. Our media do not relay the facts as they have happened, to Canadians, and that is why many Canadians are so misinformed. We must counter the lies every waking day if necessary.

Kkatr was fighting in Afghanistan against the Americans, our allies. Treason. Katr killed one of our allies. Treason. Since he was fighting our allies, how many more did he kill or maim?

The strength of the liberal media cartel lies not only in it’s ability to focus on one person in sheer numbers until they crush them but to look away whenever a Peter Pan like leader arises whose every flying faux paus seems to be worse than his last and focus to his knee highs.

- Now the Liberals & their mainstream media lapdogs are doing everything they can to avoid taking any responsibility over the Omar Khadr disaster. (The Globe and Mail was trying to compare it to Harper & the census.) They’ve shown that they don’t understand the Canadian people & they’re not capable of taking responsibility for their actions. The mainstream media are proving to the Canadian people that they’re just as fake news as the American fake news. They’re upset that it’s being reported, not that it happened in the first place. This is pure panic – a silver lining perhaps.

- Great to see this story getting legs in the US. The Americans need to know that this is a purely Liberal decision with no support among actual Canadians.

- A united right would be a good thing in Alberta as long as it’s led by an actual Conservative & not some red tory. Brian Jean needs to not be the leader of a united right party. Courting the mainstream media never works out well for conservatives.

John Ivison, National Post today:
Another day, another Conservative MP telling a right-wing American cable channel how Justin Trudeau is in bed with al-Qaida for agreeing to compensate Omar Khadr. Pierre Poilievre told

Newsmax Now, which is piped into 40 million U.S. homes, that Trudeau’s decision rewarded a “confessed terrorist and known supporter — past supporter at least — and member of al-Qaida.”

Negative comments by readers on Trudeau’s handling of the Khadr case (although there were also some positive comments).

Mike Murphy: The incompetent Trudeau Libs ought not have given the middle finger to our US allies on the 4th of July by paying a terrorist $8 million US after killing and wounding 2 US special forces soldiers.

Gerry Swan: I agree. Where is it mentioned that Trudeau and his crew were idiots to place this right in front of NAFTA?

Joseph D’Oliveira: The media spin has started so if the negotiations go south, they can blame the conservatives.

Simon Jones: You are out to lunch on this one Ivison. No one forced Trudeau and his miserable gang of fools to create this Khadr boondoggle right before trade negotiations. They managed that bit of stupidity all by themselves and deserve the excoriation they deserve and are getting from 70% of Canadians which is obviously a larger number than the Conservatives you are taking potshots at.

Doug McLeod: I disagree with Ivison’s take on this. Justin Trudeau just made a non-court mandated, secret, and untraceable payment to the family who was one of the main financiers of Al Qaeda. To the man who was convicted and confessed in the US to killing a US soldier and maiming another. Hiding this or pretending that 71% of Canadian’s aren’t outraged at it, is guaranteed to piss them off – that is where most of the danger to us is. Trudeau did something so effing stupid it is beyond description but it should be made very clear to the yanks that it was only him and the 29% of sycophants that cant’ think. In short the only idiots in Canada are PM Kardashian and his cabinet, the rest of us haven’t lost our minds. Suggesting that supporting the terrorists that killed US (and Canadian) soldier is a Canada wide stance would be suicide – pointing out our PM is brain dead is not.

The biggest road block in the traitorous lying socialist CBC and the rest of the main stream media because they know they can make or break anyone, so the jellyfish Conservatives cave in to the media.

The problem is the main stream media will always rip to pieces any Conservative regardless of whether they have a backbone or not … just the attack is more vicious against true Conservatives, so sucking up to them will not help them.

Even who I thought was a real Conservative, Brian Jean, is going spineless.

Will we ever have true Conservative again? Maybe Libertarian will take on that job.

Ron said, " … as long as the Conservatives are unwilling to defend the values which helped form this nation,( which is what they should be doing), Trudeau will win again and drive Canada further into an economic hole and a socialist hellhole … "

I have come to expect the NDP and Liberals to be anti-Canadian and seething hateful anti-Conservative, but it is the “Conservatives” of our current Conservative parties in which I am the most disappointed. They make me sick.

As you commented, today’s Conservatives are unwilling to defend the Canadian values. The majority of them are Liberal cucks wearing a blue tie.

Maybe if the more contributors at the National Post had been more objective and critical with respect to Jr. over the years, the Conservatives wouldn’t have to go to the States to apologize for the antics of our boy blunder. The lame street media failed in their duty and are now blaming Conservatives for being unpatriotic. It is to laugh.

ROY JEANINE, I agree. We have an activist Supreme Court that does not hold to the laws this great nation was founded on and if they had their way would remove them all. As Chief Justice Beverly McLachlin said a few years ago, “And the secret of Canadian judicial law making has finally come out of the closet. Judges make laws. They do and they must.” And here I was thinking that the Canadian Parliament made laws on behalf of the Canadian people.
The problem with the judges is the same problem with the universities, the federal government, most provincial governments and the Canadian population as a whole. It is filled with godless, materialistic Liberals who care nothing for others, only themselves and those who think like them, and though they would never say it publicly, truly hate Canadian heritage and history, including Canadian values which are founded on Christianity. The only thing dumber than our PM are the uncritical thinkers who voted for him and as long as the Conservatives are unwilling to defend the values which helped form this nation,( which is what they should be doing), Trudeau will win again and drive Canada further into an economic hole and a socialist hellhole, with Islam as its national religion. As American columnist Dennis Prager recently said, “If conservatism isn’t about conserving Western civilization first and foremost, what is it about?”
commented 2017-07-20 09:13:34 -0400
As Ivison is inclined to quote Churchill, how about the counsel contained in the following quote by Churchill that western countries would be “well advised to follow”?: "The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities – but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith.”

John Ivison in this morning’s (July 20) National Post dedicates his column to the lack of patriotism held by Kent, Rempel, Poilievre, and CPC in general. He even quotes Churchill against them at this crucial time in Canada’s history. In short, Ivison, as an LPC fan club member, is ticked off that the opposition is doing its job, which includes providing information.

I think a lot of people are forgetting or missing a huge point here. Our evil Supreme Court of Canada ruled that kadar’s rights had been violated. These bastards are the TRAITORS who ruled an unbelievable decision. Since when does a terrorist who leaves his country and makes bombs, end up with ANY RIGHTS AT ALL. He should be prosecuted and put behind bars for the rest of his life. Trudoop just showed his true colors and he is an evil muslim traitor. Man, I do hope Trump finds out about this and quits complimenting trudoop as he did last week. Also, I am appalled that evil trudoop got such a warm reception at the Calgary Stampede. He should NEVER be welcomed in Alberta.

Publicizing the Khadr story in the US is definitely hitting a nerve with bobble head Trudeau, crazy Gerry Butts and Climate Barbie. The Libtard Party of Canada will have a tough time cleaning the egg off their face on this one. A couple bonuses is that donations are continuing to flow in for the Speer family and maybe Trump could use this to give Justin a little poke in the eye.
