Ryerson Students’ Union condemns Canada 150 celebrations in error-filled screed

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

Look, I’ve got my beefs with the “Canada 150” celebration. It’s a Liberal Party slush fund, as I reported a few months ago, regarding fake comedian Mary Walsh and her million-dollar grant.

But if you doubt that Canada is a great country, why not visit Malmo, Sweden? Or London, in the UK, where I was yesterday, and see the size of their problems?

Toronto’s Ryerson University Student Union wouldn’t agree with me.

Their Facebook page says:

“Countdown to Colonialism 150. Why we should not celebrate Canada 150.”

“All 2017 marks is 150 years since the Canadian Federation Act was signed.”

Huh? Do you mean the British North America Act, which we today call our Constitution Act? If these are the smart kids, I’d hate to see the dumb ones.

I’ll read you more. This post made my brain hurt from the different levels of stupid. I don’t think they teach an hour’s worth of Canadian or European history any more — not just at Ryerson, but in high school or lower.

They say, “the land was stolen from Indigenous people” and talk about “genocide.”

I’ll explain why that and so much of this statement isn’t just false, it’s slanderous.

Like Black Lives Matter, Idle No More, the extremists who have taken over the Gay Pride parades — they want to destroy Canadian nationalism, and focus instead on irrelevant criteria, like race or sex.

They’re evil; or stupid; or misled.

Given that they’re left-wing students at Ryerson, it’s probably a bit of all three.

NEXT: Barbara Kay joins me to discuss her latest National Post column, about her troubling exchange about "roasting white racists" with a First Nations activist.

THEN: Townhall.com columnist Kurt Schlichter comes on to talk about whether CNN can recover from the latest revelations about their Trump/Russia fake news.

Janice K… You couldn’t be more wrong because the 99% don’t own a thing… We are taxed heavily for what real estate that we have possession of but we don’t own anything.. Natives on the other hand have allodial title to their land which means they actually own it and the true understanding of land ownership is far beyond the understanding of everybody… They are a nation state within a country.

Just another reason to target the white man and tell the world they are all “Canadian” and welcome here to cash in. These little shits don’t know a thing about our history, those who built this country and who laid their lives on the line for it and us! These brain damaged kids have no respect for the freedoms, peace, prosperity and everything else this country and those who founded/built it and fought of it , have afforded them all theses years! I say we send them all to the middle east or some African hole and just maybe then they will learn some respect and gratitude! It sure doesn’t take much to brainwash the left! AGain this is the result of DECADES OF LIBERALISM AND POLITICAL CORRECTNESS BRAINWASHING BEGINNING IN ALL OUR SCHOOLS , GOVERNMENTS, MEDIA AND SO CALLED ’LEADERS" WHEN IN FACT BOTH OF THESE ARE TO DO WITH MONEY, VOTES AND CONTROL OVER US!

Funding is a construct.

More than a few decades ago Ryerson was a technical institute and the kids attending were being instructed in subjects like architecture , medical sciences, applied engineering , etc. Then about 20 years or so ago they decided to become a university and began teaching typical Bachelor of Arts subjects that have morphed into the usual leftist twaddle now dominant in most universities today. Bachelor of Arts programs now fall under the Victimization Faculty which include Women Studies, Native Studies, Gender Studies , etc. The prime purpose of this faculty is to rewrite history . Getting a real degree in History today would guarantee you a seat in a classroom anywhere you want to sit.

It is pathetic that this is but one of a long list of schools of “higher learning” that have become rat’s nests of Marxists intent on destroying Canada and rebuilding it according to their failed vision for the world. The time has come for taxpayers to stop funding these radicals.

Regarding your comments about Scheer. My concern is that he if he manages to get elected federally, his ‘leadership’ will only serve to insure that the Liberals get in again after his 4 years. I don’t want to see that. I want a strong conservative Party, and I just don’t see that we have one in Scheer. He needs to get with the game. He thinks his base are the ‘big tent’ cons who are really cino’s. He doesn’t even know who his base really consists of. I don’t know what he thinks we are, but I don’t exactly feel included or even considered at this point. Our resident trolls tell us we are not true conservatives OR true Canadians. Is that what Scheer thinks too?

Why do these politicians always act like they know better than we do and must dictate? They always forget that they work for us. I don’t feel like I have any representation in Ottawa, except for a few hardworking dedicated MP’s who seem to be shouting into the wind.

The reason I despise our liberal government is because I love Canada so much. Justin is mucking with my home, my country, the land of the strong and free.
Canada is still the best country so far but for how much longer? Hungary and Poland are starting to look pretty good for a couple of reasons but I could never leave. We have to make things right again.

Like the comment about Kim Campbell being a summer job prime minister.

She was the last example of a federal ‘conservative’ party ignoring their base to become liberal 2.0, and to their extinction. Before her was Joe Clarke, who was booted after 9 months, when he proved he was a Liberal. With Scheer, it looks like a return to Clarke and Campbell.

Baby Doc must be pleased.

Space Moose commented,“On Canada Day, I will not be paying any attention to Canadian news this side of the rebel. I really do not want to be lectured at on how the natives lost their land.”

You might feel differently if someone from a more highly developed culture came onto your land and booted you off! Aboriginal people certainly create some of their own problems but any thinking individual should admit that we caused them many more. We own more than 99% of the land here; they own less than 1%. And the way they lost the land in many cases was that they were pushed to the wall, then plied with alcohol to get them to sign. Maybe that was their fault too. In any case, we have some responsibility.

I’m not celebrating junior’s version of Canada! My Canada is being dismantled by a French traitor, who was elected the globalist Islamic puppet for the UN. I will toast the country that I knew and loved before it was taken over by evil liars and thieves.

I’m glad to be paying 8$ a month for real conservative coverage! It’s nothing compared to cable and even ublic news feed! Her, in the province of Quebec, the choice for real news is really narrow or mostly inexistant and it’s really frustating! Cheers to all of you Rebels and big props to your technical staff as well. Audio-visual people is mostly always left behind when they’re the ones making it happen so one love to them!

Oh please, nothing will happen to CNN. The sheep will continue to believe every word that comes out of CNN.

On Canada Day, I will not be paying any attention to Canadian news this side of the rebel. I really do not want to be lectured at on how the natives lost their land.

Ezra, I totally agree with your opinion of Scheer being wishy washy, along with most of his 98 colleagues.
Under Ambrose it was the same, as some Rebels commented that she should walk across the floor and join the Liberals. The difference is we didn’t expect much from Rona as she was pushed in to fill the shoes of a world class Politician who had the Economic knowledge and experience to lead Canada out of a serious recession unscathed. Her experience was being a Heritage Minister which gives her the authority to change a couple of words in the National Anthem in order to make it more Feminine. Her other position was Minister of Woman’s Issues which allows her to ask the Gov’t to transfer more money from men to women. Is there a Minister of Men’s Issues ? Not important enough.
The Liberals have had an extremely easy 16 months with Ambrose and Mulcair; two lame duck opposition leaders.
To use an analogy, Scheer is much like the Blue Jays bringing in a superstar that has done nothing but strike out so far. ( Paris Climate Accord) I hope Scheer starts to do what is expected of him, or somehow put the number 2 guy in.

I need to dig out my old Facebook question-“Tell me which group of natives own Canada?”
commented 2017-06-30 00:44:04 -0400
Are these idiots not part of the so called colonialism they are condemning by simply living here?

All real Conservative need to boycot all government sponsored 150 Canada Day events – and form spontaneous celebrations of their own. Hell what is celebration anyway??? What we need to do is when questioned by anyone, hopefully some “media” person, HOPEFULLY from the CBC or any MSM – is lay out the reasons or at least some, of why we are in protest to the Liebeals line of brainwash. Make sure you tell them why you are not “ashamed” of being white, Conservative & plain ol’ ornery! All those Libtards wouldn’t be in the picture if it weren’t for Conservative Sweat & BlooD & tolerance for lunatical bullshit! It’s our turn to do a real cursing of the crap they expect us to blindly follow!
The mitts are off – make sure you do your upper cut with absolute ferocity – it’s time the bullys get whats coming – fists are harmless as to compared (hopefully never) live bullets! They think they have a Right to shoot at any of us – after demanding “GUN CONTROL” – well it’s time reality is shown for what it is.
Be REAL people – this ain’t no “home-coming” event!

Rob Greely, don’t you just cringe at what Trudeau says Canadians want?!!
His idea of positive and exciting is revolting and uncalled for!
I like your iceberg analogy, it is true!

The USA is turning their Ship away from the visible tip of the iceberg ahead..Canada though..is full steam ahead going directly into it..Because trudeau says it’s “positive and exciting”…

Ya I’m scared about liberals spending on garbage. Fuck sakes.
Who’s gonna earn it?
I’m with Kurt. I’m not guilty for being white and I’m not buying it.
Our history goes far beyond 150 years

Ryerson, some of your students are really misinformed and misguided….this should concern Administration. Lowering the bar may fill your lecture halls, but, you are turning out idiots!

Ezra, another great interview with Barbara Kay.

CNN – the network is outraged at being called fake news….LMAO!

Also, Pearson told deGaulle to F-off during the centennial…can anyone see Baby Doc telling Macron to F-off if Macron interfered in Canadian politics during the sesquicentennial?
commented 2017-06-29 21:02:41 -0400
There is such a difference between the Centennial and the sesquicentennial, even though both were events under the Liberals. Yes I am that old I remember the centennial as a late teen. The centennial was a celebration of accomplishment, the sesquicentennial is a celebration of loathing. The difference is that Pearson, the true founder of our welfare state, was a patriotic Canadian, he served and earned campaign medals in WWI. On the other hand Baby Doc, true to Papa Doc, is not patriotic; Papa Doc wore nazi clothing and sieg heiled during WWII. Ryerson is just following the example.

Ezra, you need to do a series on the Indian act, and indian problems again. Today they put a teepee on Parliament hill, but thier racist comments to “white” journalists were from a 5 star hotel in Ottawa. Thanks to my “white” money.
It is time for Indians to admit they are addicted to “white” money and culture, as long as the never ending cash boat keeps sailing.
They do not recognise the RCMP findings that find 90% of Indians are killed by other indians. Thier suicide rates are a white man problem, so where is thier “culture” and thier community to help thier own kids? Nothing is thier fault, but if you give us more money, we might shut up for another year.
The Governor General had it right! They were the 1st immigrants (from China/Korea). But they don’t own anything. Thier culture is like that of ISIS, rape, murder, and wars against each other.
I am glad they have finall, all got together to fleece the white guilt of the Canadian Political Pansys, who will give anything for an Indian vote.
NOBODY is sleeping in that teepee!
