It’s so gross. Bombardier, the perpetual corporate welfare bum just got a billion dollars from Quebec taxpayers to bail them out of their failing C-Series jet.
But they’re so bad at running their company, that wasn’t enough. So Bombardier has wrung $372 million more out of Ottawa.
And they’re laying off employees by the thousand. Where is all the money going, if not to save Canadian jobs?
Bombardier is hiring in Mexico, though, and building whole new plants.
Then after Bombardier executives got all the money and fired all the Canadians, they gave themselves a huge bonus. With our money. Total compensation for their top five executives and board chairman Pierre Beaudoin was US$32.6 million in 2016, up from US$21.9 million the year before. They got 50 per cent bonuses.
That’s why we’ve got a new website. We’ve got one in French, too, that my colleague Eric Duhaime is doing, called BombardierRemboursez.com.
In English, our petition is BombardierPayUsBack.com
We’ll deliver this petition to Pierre Beaudoin, Bombardier’s chairman.
Sign it out of self respect.
That’s your money.
