If Trump builds the wall by 2020, he will be reelected, no matter what else. If he does not build the wall by 2020, he will not be reelected, no matter what else.
Finally, the Department of Homeland Security has contracted with four construction companies to build a test section of the wall. One of them will get the contract.
A leaked memo says the wall could cost up to $21 billion. So what?
As one pundit put it, that’s about the cost of one and a half of the Navy’s new aircraft carriers, and it probably does a much foreign policy good, and saves more American lives.
$21.6 billion is a rounding error in terms of Obama’s waste and corruption. How much did Obama spend on solar schemes and bail-outs to his friends?
And if Congress refuses to fund the wall, crowdfund it. $21.6 billion — and that’s a high estimate — is just 66 bucks per American.
I bet you could crowdfund a billion dollars in the first 24 hours, from every worker who hates being undercut by illegal labour; every cop who hates dealing with Mexican drug gangs; every industrial heartland mom who hates chronic unemployment; everyone who hates the open borders elites.
But regardless, the wall must be built, if Trump’s presidency is to be called a success.
