Canadian school deems “Rebel” team name “racist” (David Menzies with guest Doug Ford)

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

(David Menzies guest hosts for Ezra Levant...) Is it time for us here at The Rebel to consider a name change?

“Rebel” is now a pejorative term, according to the progressive tall foreheads at Ontario’s Georgetown District High School.

For more than half a century, the nickname of the school’s sports teams was "the Rebels."

But some 150 years ago, during the U.S. Civil War, the Southern side were called the “Rebels.”

Therefore the word “rebel” is... racist?

Obviously, the word “rebel” existed long before the U.S. Civil War. A Georgetown alumni petition asking the school to retain the "Rebel" nickname has already amassed more than 800 signatures. But what do those deplorables know?

People like Georgetown Principal Paul Daignault and their stifling committees come up with solutions for problems that do not exist. How sad that they’re in a position to influence young minds.

In fact, given their ignorance of the English language, I’d say these edu-crats need to go back to school...

NEXT: My special guest today is veteran Toronto city counsellor and current mayoral candidate Doug Ford

He and I talk about the legacy of his late brother Rob Ford, the ins and outs of retail politics, why he thinks Mayor John Tory has got to go, and a lot more.

PLUS: I respond to your messages to me, about my recent guest-hosting stint!

Rob Ford was harassed mercilessly by the Leftist MSM, the second he assumed office and it didn’t stop till he got cancer. Two or so weeks ago, CBC stuck their knives in him again, reminding us when Councillor Pam McConnell died that Rob had once knocked her over on his way across the chambers to speak to someone. They couldn’t resist that jab even though Rob Ford is dead. CBC is a shameful bunch!!

Andrew the left is removing Shakespeare FFS, and you say we are the childish ones who are afraid of facing reality and scrutiny?
commented 2017-09-22 16:59:55 -0400
Andrew Stephenson you are supporting censorship and subjugation and it is not the right who is in the wrong. Now go burn some books like a good Nazi Commy.

James Van Halen i know we disagree , but i think you live in TO , could you please explain to Andrew that Rob Ford was anything but ignored during his term as mayor.

James Van Halen commented 3 hours ago, Ezra hasn’t hired anyone – never mind “a lot of new people”.

It seems as if James has an inside track and special powers to know things that others don’t about The Rebel. Ezra told us he hired a lot of people. We’ll have to wait and see which of you is right.

- Is the school going to ban Star Wars too? Canada was formed through confederation – are they planning to succeed? Time for us to stop letting these clowns run things.

- Best of luck to Doug Ford. Rob had his demons but he was good for the city.

- The PCs will win – they’ll fire a couple Hydro execs – they’ll tweak a few things but make no real changes – the Liberals will make a leadership change & sweep back into power. I don’t like it but that’s what I se happening.

Janice Kay,

Ezra hasn’t hired anyone – never mind “a lot of new people”.

The whole reboot thing was damage control when Ezra was worried for a moment during all the Rebel backlash.

The thing with commie scumbags and other sub-human sludge – like trolls – is they aren’t scumbags because of what they do – troll – they do what they do – shit disturb, lie, obfuscate – because they are scumbags…
When the time comes, give no quarter to the scumbags!

How many times can the far-right Messiah complex fail before you people learn? As it turns out shouting catchphrases very loudly is not an effective political strategy.

I lived in Toronto the last time a Ford was mayor, and he was pretty much ignored after the first couple months. Doug Ford’s zany schemes – he thought of himself, and even referred to himself, as “co mayor” – were a major factor in the collapse of their support. We already know how Doug Ford vs John Tory works out, that race has already been run.

Pulling kids out of schools? Perhaps it’s not indoctrination at all. Perhaps it’s rather the opposite – that Big C Conservatism has devolved to the point where it doesn’t survive detailed scrutiny and can only persist as indoctrination itself. Again, see Ford or Trump style platitudes which only persist because supporters attack anybody that dare question them. Small c conservatism can still stand on its own, but as in Scheer, or Brown, they’re not suitably insane for the Big C “not alt-right”.

Jay Kelly said, ““The Rebel” has been linked by many news outlets to a far-right political ideology that is more harmful than helpful.”

Interpreted to his real meaning:
“The Rebel does not conform to the current political ideology of the left, political correctness and submission to Islam, so it is harm to the globalist Islamic agenda of the left.”

To The Rebel and its’ supporters: You hear that? Smarten up people and submit Islam and political correctness. You are causing them harm!

The way the Liberal press treated Rob Ford was shameful, piling on in the most hate-filled manner the second he became mayor. The CBC is still at it. Recently, Councillor Pam McConnell died, and the CBC managed to stick their knives into Rob Ford once more, reminding us about the time he crossed the council floor in a hurry, knocking her off her feet.

Jay Kelley says, “The Rebel” has been linked by many news outlets to a far-right political ideology that is more harmful than helpful."

Many news outlets have linked lots of people to a far-right political ideology. That’s the new replacement for the words ‘racist’ and ‘Islamophobic’ which they hurled at people they disagreed with earlier on. ‘Alt-right’,‘Far-right’ and ‘Nazi’ are now in vogue. Two journalists wrote that Professor Jordan Peterson, a Liberal is, ‘Alt-right’. They called Dave Rubin, from The Rubin Report, also a Liberal,‘Alt-right’. Prof Gad Saad, a Liberal from Concordia University is called Far-Right or Alt-Right. The totalitarian Left in this country sees no place for people who disagree with them and will use any words they can think of to smear and discredit them.

Jay Kelley also says,“This website, which tries at once to be a legitimate news source while decrying all other media outlets, cannot maintain its current status.”

I guess he missed the fact that The Rebel has hired a lot of new people. Ezra will be introducing them to us in the near future.

Jay Kelley, please keep in mind the civil war “rebels” intent on preserving slavery, were democrats=liberals, as was the KKK
The Highly respected and subscribed to CONSERVATIVE/Republican Rebel Media is self suflficient unlike the fake news/media I can’t but assume you seem to have been programmed by. It really is heartbreaking to see so many human beings minds turned to mush by mainstream programming. However, us rebels will be here continuing to fight for your freedom as well despite your oblivion to the war we currently face against it.

John Tory is a great mayor for the most part and is very popular with a high approval rating – Doug Ford doesn’t have a chance.

Don Carlos Cervantes,

Even the conservative Toronto Sun (The Rebel was born from the Sun), who kissed the Ford Brother’s asses constantly, acknowledge that Tory would bury Ford.

Can anyone name a decent Mayor of a city in Canada? Big or small, is there one out there or are they all neo Marxist recruits? I sure don’t know one.
commented 2017-09-22 02:23:22 -0400
Liberals are so boring. Conservatives are the counter-culture. With a Rebel yell.
commented 2017-09-22 01:31:41 -0400
So the Rebels from Star Wars were the BAD GUYS?

Mike i think Jay is just excited about m-103 since he thinks that others are gutless cowards like him and they will do as the left tells them. He is in for a huge surprise.

Oh Vajay Jay……you will be ok. The question you pose is one that most on this site would ask of you. Given the history of your posts, I think the answer could be no. But to answer yours, yes I am, completely. However, I’m not so sure after replying to you,why would I feed the troll……… silly me.

So many people here want Doug Ford to be Mayor of their City if he doesn’t get the Toronto job.
Vancouver is the most desperate place in Canada for a good Mayor. Doug, you can spend the first year in Vancouver getting rid of Greger Robinson’s under used Bicycle paths on the main routes of this crowded city.

Mike Krchnak, are you basically sane? I mean, are you able to function? It is good that you are able to come on here and provide comments, but you should let us know if you are sane or not.

Rebel readers expect a certain level of understanding. You may be a good person, but should you be commenting on a site like this?

Vajay Jay….put the lid on the bottle and flush the pills, you’re getting all fucked up again. Ask mummy to tuck you in and sweet dreams, maybe tomorrow will be better for you. When you get up, leave the basement and get some sun shine, vitamin D will help with the misery.

Good point, Liza Rosie. If Patrick Brown is the next Premier of Ontario we will see what comes next.

Doug Ford would be the best thing that could happen to Toronto. Best of luck Doug.

If indeed Brown is the next Premier it will be interesting to see what comes next for Ontario. I wonder how easy he will be to work with.

Good show Menzies.

Perhaps, Daryl Herman, you are called to a bit of reflection. None of your teachers, in all those years at school, would ever have accepted a line like “Why u Libtarded lunatic”.

Could you re-write the line in such a way that it makes sense? Please do not beg-off and say that you had a troubled childhood.

Re-write your line in a coherent way. Then we can respond to it.

BLM are a bunch of criminal thugs, and anyone accommodating them are criminals too. Seems to me these “bold” criminals need to be taken out – permantly.

As for those weak kneed SJWs – the REBEL is here to stay – get over it or go out & feedyourself a lead pill. So we don’t have to.

Some people, not many, associate the term “The Rebel” with this particular right-wing news outlet. Most Canadians are embarrassed that such an internet site exists.

“The Rebel” has been linked by many news outlets to a far-right political ideology that is more harmful than helpful.

This website, which tries at once to be a legitimate news source while decrying all other media outlets, cannot maintain its current status.

In his absence Ezra Levant asked David Menzies to take over. Big trouble.

Menzies associates “the Rebel” — the Canadian news site — with the United States Civil War which happened in the 1860’s.

Big troubles for the Canadian web-site “The Rebel”. David Menzies, that quirky guy, will be asked to leave because of his ignorance.

Ezra Levant will save the day.

I hope that Doug is elected as mayor of Toronto. I’d like hear those leftist babies needing their soothers when they get cut from the public trough.
