Bombardier duty: Trudeau finally gets his fight with Trump. Now what?

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

Watching the United States slap a 219 per cent countervailing duty on Canadian-made jet planes being sold to an American airline, I feel like I’ve been watching a traffic accident unfold in slow-motion.

As I've been warning you, Trudeau has been spoiling for a fight with Trump.

Look at his “social justice” demands for NAFTA negotiations. And having a senior member of the negotiating team call Trump “a complete lunatic.” Then there’s Trudeau’s dairy tariff.

At what point is this called “sabotage”?

We know Trudeau loves Bombardier — giving them an unfair advantage (with our money).

He already gave them hundreds of millions of dollars; Quebec gave them more — then Bombardier moved a lot of their manufacturing to Mexico.

And gave their senior executives huge bonuses.

So what’s the secret reason Trudeau wants to damage our trade with the U.S.?

Is it to try to pivot our country towards China in a free trade deal?

Is it just to demonize Trump, and America, as the campaign foil in Trudeau’s reelection campaign in 2019?

If so, that’s an awful reason to sentence hundreds of thousands of Canadians to poverty and unemployment...

NEXT: There was a horrible race-related shooting in an American church earlier this week. If you didn't hear about it, it may be because it doesn't fit the Media Party's narrative.

Tonight, our friend Dr. John Lott, an undisputed expert on gun crime and firearms data, joins me to talk about how a man with a concealed carry permit helped prevent more lives from being lost.

THEN: Fernando Menendez of the Center for a Safe Free Society comes on to shed some light on those attacks on Canadian and U.S. embassy personnel in Cuba.

Secretary of State Tillerson met with Cuban officials about this today, and Menendez will explain what we can expect next.

FINALLY: Your messages to me about our new shows starring Sheila Gunn Reid, David Menzies, Raheel Raza, and Tommy Robinson.

PS: Check out this sneak peek at our other NEW Rebels, and their wide-ranging beats. They'll be bringing you "the other side of the story" from Canada, the US, the UK and Australia.

Hey Ezra…

“PPS: Know anyone who isn’t a Rebel Premium Member? TELL THEM they can get a great deal now, but only for a VERY limited time.”

So current subscribers are NOT eligible? Perhaps you should say “Tell them THEY can get a great deal…”

Just sayin’

So funny . I guess the USA is not as dumb as the Liberals thought they were . You can put lipstick on a pig but it’s still a pig .
Jay support what the new Canadian allegiance to honour all treaties with the native Americans . Please feel free to name some . Or Canada is back shoving tax money out of the country all the while letting people illegally walk into Canada for the Canadian tax suckers to pick up the tab . Come on Jay even you have to admit that these changes don’t benefit any Canadians and will destroy Canada . Sunny ways .

Jay says….
“In a situation like this, does it not make sense for Canadians to support their government?”
I’ve been supporting Canada’s government with my tax dollars. Hard earned, I will add, for a long long time. And now I get to hear someone tell me to support the government because a company that could never make it without billions in subsidies, is now faced with tariffs. Sorry there is just no value that I’m getting for my tax dollar.
Ask the construction industry how they feel after Trudope slapped a 200% plus tariff on gypsum Jan 2016.

Oh good.. A little dose of reality vis-a-vis Bombardier for “happy babble” Krysia Freeland about what is really going to happen in the coming months re NAFTA negotiations… And no brownie points to the usual trolls for trying to distract us from the original intent of this heads-up article by Ezra… The economic “elephant” next door is not going away, or about to ignore the subsidy games which have been played in Quebec for decades.. And yes, the American NAFTA negotiating team has people who can read in both of Canada’s “official languages” eh?…

Colleen Morrison Lyons lambastes Ezra Levant for his outrageous claims.

Please remember that Ezra Levant has devoted himself to free speech in Canada. He has certainly been ridiculed and ignored, but he has dedicated himself to opening a path to free expression.

That we are able to comment like this on The Rebel is as a result of his hard work.

Vajay Jay says…..give it some thought.
Vajay should not be using big words like “thought”, that he/she/it does not understand
And if by some off chance the word was understood, it would be advised to practice what one preaches……..thinking before posting. Rather lofty goal for the likes of Vajay Jay et al.

He doesn’t know how to Prime Minister. He just yells out “Feminism!” and flexes whenever he gets confused by complicated political things. And connecting a denouncement of President Trump is what to say to have people accept your ideas without question or to support some vague notion of being on “the right side of history”. Usually supported by the same people who think being open minded is equal to giving consideration to all nonsense ideas like not vaccinating your children, cinnamon oil in a $400 vaporizer can cure diseases, carrying pretty rocks can help you psychologically, you can predict the future with cards, you can talk to dead people, it never ends really. All connected by a lack of logos but super heavy on the ethos and pathos, like a hamburger without the burger but they put extra condiments and toppings on it to sell it to you anyways.

Empirical evidence is the substance that must come before the style and not everything is open to interpretation.

Liza, Ezra’s offer still stands: “Premium subscribers get exclusive access to all our TV-style shows — including my daily program — plus you will get to see many of our ‘free’ videos a day earlier than the public!"

Give it some thought!

Having traveled extensively for 45 years, I have enjoyed visiting Cuba since 1984, the year it’s borders opened to tourists. At the time the state dictated that Cubans refer to each other as a gender neutral ‘Companero’. Considering a major source of Cubas foreign currency is from New York expats, socialism is probably the best fit for an island offering little more than sun, sand and rock. At least passports aren’t surrendered every night like in China. Most Cubans I met are content. While I despise socialism, Ezra and his guest are wrong to demonize and demand change because Cuba’s governance model differs from their homeland. Respect Cuba’s sovereignty and be thankful we live where we do.

“With Trudeau, it’s folly to look for any deep policy for what he does.”

I wish I could believe that A Rebel Fan. I think what Justin has been rolling out is a very well thought out agenda. Not thought out by Justin though, he is merely the vehicle. He may very well have been groomed from an early age to be the hand puppet to the globalist, neo Marxists, who are indeed in a skewed partnership with Islam ( I don’t think the left realize it is not an equal partnership, and has a shelf life) .
I also don’t think Justin’s comment about his appreciation for China’s ‘basic dictatorship’ was off the cuff.
I think he was a drama teacher as a part of his prep for this job. Maybe everything he says and does is carefully choreographed. Obama, Soros, Aga Khan (who says he is a direct descendant of Mohammad) and others, are schooling him and Butts is constantly in his ear. He may be an empty vessel but his handlers have a clear agenda. I think there is method to his madness.

Bombardier is a huge Canadian manufacturer and employs thousands of people in Canada. A lot has been made that it also employs five thousand in Northern Ireland. Less has been made of the fact that Bombardier employs thousands of workers in the United States.

Trump wants to make a statement that he is against foreign workers (in this case, Canadians) and he is willing to do that despite the fact that this sound industry employs thousands of Americans.

In a situation like this, does it not make sense for Canadians to support their government? To support the U.S. on this one hurts Canadians but it also hurts U.S. workers big-time.

The GDP of Ontario is 49% dependent on exports to the US, Quebec GDP is 23%, Alberta is 31%. We are probably talking about over a million jobs in Canada directly linked to our US customers, excluding the thousands if not millions of indirect jobs. The stupidity of the Liberals could dramatically reduce the standard of living in Canada. We simply cannot replace the US with China because we cannot compete with the Chinese, unless we bring our wages at their levels. A trade deal with China is a total nonsense and could only be a one-way deal where the corrupt Chinese billionnaires would profit from our natural ressources (which they already do in some cases) and steal our know-how and technology. Unless you want to leave your money in China forever, a canadian company can’t invest there, since you have to create a joint venture with a chinese company and cannot take your profits out of the country.
However, there are rumors for some time in the international financial community about replacing the US petro-dollar as the world’s reserve currency. China has started paying its oil purchases from Russia in Chinese yen and wants the Saudis to accept the yen too. This could be a real economic blow to the US. And the countries pushing this, as far as I know, are China, Iran and Russia, the first 2 being the dream of Trudo. So it appears that Trudo is betting against the US and on China, and is putting the wealth and jobs of the Canadians at risk in the meantime. This may be inevitable, considering the globalist agenda of all of the Western countries, but who knows how this will end. Wars have been fought for less than that. One thing is sure: Trudo will be the first ultimate traitor.
commented 2017-09-28 00:11:05 -0400
The Liberal party believes that extortionists (Bombardier) should be able to keep their subsidies….because Justin Trudope does!.. and he is willing to take on anyone who disagrees with that!
commented 2017-09-28 00:08:14 -0400
I love it when a plan falls into place. In February, a few commenters wanted Trudeau to do things to upset Trump, so the US would slow or shut down the border, leading to Canada losing its status as a G-7 Country.
Quebec should pay with unemployment for its never ending subsidies to Bombardier.
Southern Ontario already weak with Wynne’s and Trudeau’s extra taxes, will go the route of Venezuela if even half of the Auto Industry leaves to the US or Mexico.
This is why I’m happy; Liberals love and vote Trudeau, unless their family, neighbors or themselves are on the Bread Line. Not even the Trudeau owned media would be able to convince the people that Trudeau had nothing to do with the Financial Catastrophe. Come 2019, Good-bye Justin.

The only piece of the puzzle that doesn’t fit is we never envisioned someone so weak and unelectable as Scheer. We have to work on that.
commented 2017-09-27 22:35:31 -0400
Boy this is about the same as the tariff Trudeau slapped on American gypsum Jan. 2016. And as soon as the Americans stuck a tariff on soft wood, Trudeau jumped up and gave the industry billions in subsidies, trying to one-up Trump. You think this went unnoticed by the US?
Also, when the state broadcaster who unquestionably covers for Trudeau and writes Anti-Trump rants every day. It’s pretty obvious they are spinning out what helps Trudeau. Do you think that bodes well for US Canafian trade relations.
This is where the rubber hits the road. Trudeau is caught. The US doesn’t trade using phony social license lingo and sjw strategy.
But don’t worry CBC will spin it that Trump’s a bully and Trudeau is his victim.
About time Bombardier stood on its own two feet.

I think Trudeau wants a trade war with Donald so the UN will see him as the ultimate nice-guy victim of the anti-Christ Trump and hand him his coveted seat on the Security Council (which he wants for purely narcissistic reasons).
Justin’s next election campaign strategies will be:
1. Look! Canada’s back on the UNSC, and all thanks to me! Vote Liberal!
2. Canada is falling into 3rd world status all because I, Justin Trudeau, had the balls to stand up to mean Mr. Trump in the NAFTA negotiations. We Canadians are truly BRAVE to stand up to Trump. Brave Canadians vote Liberal.
3. Canadians are very generous and that’s why we’re taking in 100’s of thousands of US refugees because mean Mr. Trump might send them back to their destitute home countries. Generous and compassionate Canadians will vote Liberal!

Two of Quebec’s sacred cows, Bombardier and the dairy industry are firmly in Trump’s sights. Any concessions with regard to these two are non-starters for the Liberals. They are seeking the moral high ground so that they have some cover when the negotiations fail. Junior and Elmer Fudd’s long lost twin brother, John McCallum, will offer China trade as a form of solace to Canadian business. If all else fails, Junior could get on stage with Trump and sing “When Laurentian Eyes Are Smiling”.

Trudeau is very fashion conscious, right down to the socks he wears. He’s a globalist and Trump is a nationalist. Right now, it’s fashionable for the Left to oppose Trump. This could be nothing more than Trudeau wanting to spite Trump. With Trudeau, it’s folly to look for any deep policy for what he does. There may not be one. All he may be doing is thinking, “I want to do this. I am going to do this.” (When did he ever care about the consequences of his actions for the Canadian people?) When he has his mind made up, he can just say, “We’re going to do this…(wait for it)…because it’s 2017.” Then, Canadians are supposed to accept that because in the Trudeau family tradition, a Trudeau has spoken. When all is said and done, it will benefit somebody, but not the Canadian people. The Chinese, maybe.

- A Bombardier duty is a duty aimed right at Trudeau’s Liberals. They’re their crony. Trudeau wants NAFTA talks to fail so he can proceed to sell out Canada to China & blame the resulting disaster on Trump. It won’t work. Canadians will know who’s fault it really is & no amount of cover by the mainstream media or censorship will stop that from happening.

- The Cuba story is bizarre to say the least. It’s hard to see how this attack helps Cuba at all. I’ve never considered vacationing in Cuba & I doubt I ever will. Even after the regime collapses there will be a period of instability.

- Gun free zones are killing zones. Are you going to open fire in an open carry area or a gun free zone? The mainstream media is ignoring the church shooting. The attacker was a product of the groups & policies they back. Normally they would be blaming the gun around the clock or describing the shooter only as a cis gender male.
