Kanye, Shania and Trump: “I’m not saying it’s the beginning of a revolution, but…”

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

Singer Shania Twain isn't even American. She’s Canadian. But during an interview with a British newspaper, she said she would have voted for Donald Trump.

(Just a reminder that over 60 million Americans did — probably a lot of them are Shania Twain fans, too...)

The Media Party will accept anything — drug use, alcoholism, physical abuse — but supporting Trump? That's going too far.

So she was pushed out to apologize:

'I do not hold any common moral beliefs with the current president,' Canadian singer says

(How many Hollywood stars, music stars, have been pressed to say they don’t share any moral beliefs with the Clintons — a corrupt family?)

That was nothing, compared to Kanye West.

He’s a rap superstar. He’s Kim Kardashian’s husband. I can’t say I’m a fan of his politics. Remember when he flat-out said that George W. Bush didn’t like black people?

Kanye West would have little eruptions like that all the time, and it was just fun.

Well, last week he said something unforgivable:

I love the way Candace Owens thinks

We've interviewed Candace Owens before. And Kanye West said he liked how she thought.

The freak-out was total.

But Kanye is built for that, a bit more than Shania Twain. Instead of grovelling, he doubled down, denouncing the "thought police" and tweeting:

[T]here was a time when slavery was the trend and apparently that time is still upon us. But now it's a mentality.

The media don’t know what to do. He’s not behaving himself.

Kanye West is just a pop star. I don’t think I’d rely on him for solid, principled political leadership.

But that’s not the point. The point is, he has not bent the knee.

I’m not saying it’s the beginning of a revolution.

But I think it’s encouragement to others to think for themselves...

NEXT: Edmonton Sun senior columnist Lorne Gunter joins me to explain how Canada is set to lose $10 billion in GDP thanks to the carbon tax, according to a new PBO report.

THEN: Will Turkey's snap election force the country further away from the NATO alliance? Middle East Forum President Daniel Pipes comes on to talk about it.

FINALLY: Your messages to me!

Harper was our greatest Prime Minister…no point trying to convince us otherwise…We LOVED his leadership…and we LOVE Trump. They don’t put Melania on the covers because they believe American wouldn’t buy their magazines…little do they know that they are burning their own money. The left has become its own enemy. I too would vote for Trump in a second if only….wrong country….sadly Hollywood bashes anyone who dares to even like Trump…Kanye and MANY OTHERS are blacklisted by these fascists. Go Candace! Love it that she tells Black Lives Matter that they are OVERLY PRIVILEGED AMERICANS…boy the truth hurts, doesn’t it? “Self-victimization is a disease”. WE aren’t FAR RIGHT,we are RIGHT, PERIOD. Our policies don’t STUNT THE GROWTH of your jobs like the carbon tax will do and drive out companies that will be punished for working in Canada. If evolutionists are correct, we are still safely drinking the same water that has been imbibed by millions of creatures for millions of years…its the water cycle eh!…Leftism is a dangerous cult.

Space Moose, care to provide a link?

- The endless anti-Trump meltdown is getting old. A lot of American’s are getting tired of it. It has created a huge vacuum. Rosanne puts out a show that’s pro-Trump & it instantly becomes ratings gold. It filled a bit of that vacuum. Conservativism is the new counterculture. If you want to be edgy & new & “fight the machine” you go conservative. This is just the beginning.

- The carbon tax has one purpose & one purpose only – providing a massive income stream to the government. It’s part of the greater green scam which will transfer Canada’s wealth to the world’s poor (actually to government cronies, corrupt UN officials & 3rd world dictators), “deindustrialize” the country & pave the way for the fantasy new economy that these idiots are envisioning. Oh for the day the country is run by adults again.

- Turkey always seem to be caught somewhere between being European & being middle eastern. Recently they seem to be going more toward being middle eastern while wanting to join the EU. That can be very dangerous.

The continual non-answer is infuriating; additionally, Liberals always circle back to Harper when asked about anything.

Too bad the speaker can’t call them out when they provide a non-answer which is virtually all the time.

“Conservative Finance Critic Pierre Poilievre demands that Finance Minister/Ethics Violator Bill ‘MoneyBags’ Morneau tell average Canadian families how much the carbon tax will cost them before asking Parliament to approve opposing it on them. Bravo and thank you Pierre!”

I enjoy Pipes, however I also have trouble understanding him. I complained last time that “he sounded like he was speaking under water”

PETER NETTERVILLE commented, “I find it hilarious that those who hate Trump seldom can explain why. When you ask them why, they get this ‘deer caught in the headlights’ look and then get mad at you for having the audacity to ask.” The next question you should ask them is, Do you watch the CBC?

Candace Owens is a gem! I’m not a fan of Kanye West’s music, yet, I do appreciate his willingness to stand behind what he is saying about the loony backlash from the left for simply liking what Candace has to say.
Shania succumbed to pressure & recanted, I think it’s evident she is more worried about her career than principles. I can forgive her for that, in time.

Great interview with Lorne Gunter, as always. The GDP news is horrible, Trudeau’s government will see elites doing very well, while the average Canadian will be struggling.

Excellent posts Ted Tadright. I listened to a few minutes of Daniel Pipes interview, and, the sound quality prompted me to skip to the end of the interview.

The big news from earlier this week, and, Canadians can learn from this!
“Armenia’s Prime Minister Steps Down Amid Protests
Authorities Should Listen to Grievances That Brought People to the Streets”

11 days of massive protests and arrests lead to Sargsyan to resign.
Here is some drone footage from April 23, date of resignation, military joined protesters in the streets.

I find it hilarious that those who hate Trump seldom can explain why. When you ask them why, they get this “deer caught in the headlights” look and then get mad at you for having the audacity to ask.

And when in the rare occasion a Trump hater has been able to articulate why they hate Trump, it is something really stupid like his blunt speech, or believing the outright proven lie of Russian collusion.

Thanks for that Ted Tadright… Turkey has always been a “wonky” fit into the NATO alliance and under Erdogan has demonstrated obvious “dreams” of resurrecting the Ottoman Empire… It’s time that NATO called them to account once and for all and find other forward fire bases in nations that are not allowing masses of fake refugees to flood the European land base… AND once and for all, admit to the Armenian Genocide!… Until Turkey has the morality to do so, it will remain the country of no more than belly dancers and a lame history…

The true economic loss is more than just the cost of the pipeline, … its the jobs, royalties, taxes generated by companies who find the stuff that flows though it … year after year.
Looking at their website … Canada is beer money for this American juggernaut.
Kinder will take a tax writeoff, meaning less provincial and federal tax revenue.
They’ll retreat to the land where eminent domain means something, leaving Canada a pontificating backwater … a banana republic wannabe.

Hey Justin and Catherine, how many degrees are you lowering the planetary temperature with your carbon tax? Give us a number……..No? They don’t have a number. So much for science.

NATO should dump Turkey out of the alliance. Turkey is regressing back into Ottoman times and is not a natural ally of America or Europe. Turkey has been blackmailing Europe, especially Germany, on the migrants pouring through it; either Europe gives Turkey whatever it wants, or it can expect millions more migrants to come from Turkey. Israel should replace Turkey as the natural ally in the Middle East. Israel has an office in NATO headquarters now, but it should be given full membership in the alliance before another attack is launched against it. Then any attack on Israel would have the full force of the alliance to repel it. Israel should not be left alone to face Iran, Hezbolla, Hamas and possibly Russia by itself. Where is the West in Israel’s time of need?

Erdogan changed Turkey’s constitution to resemble Russia’s, in which the President has all the power (as Putin does in Russia) and the Parliament has basically none. In effect, he made himself dictator of Turkey. The scary thing is that the U.S. has nuclear weapons in Turkey. I hope Trump is quietly getting them out of the country, but I have my doubts; I get the impression Trump is just clueless where Erdogan is concerned. He better wake up…

Good on Kanye West, Love Candice(that talk was the best I’ve heard so far, she makes heads spin and her ‘sisters’ set their hair on fire. Not an ounce of SJW in that girl. She is very impressive. Both proof that it pays to stand your ground with the left. and hold tight to your principals. Shame on Shania for backtracking. She was right the first time.

There is no way the left will allow Melania to shine. It would reflect too positively on Trump and they can’t have that. Besides she is too much of a contrast to the last first lady.

Always enjoy Lorne’s take on things. Laid back and spot on. The world thinks Canada mad to allow itself to be run into the ground this way. If Kinder Morgan or any other company has any self respect they will not stay here. In fact that is how we will know who is a leech and who is respectable.

Thanks to Erdogan Turkey is more fundamentalist and extreme, getting stricter by the minute. Sharia police and totalitarian control. He plays both sides of the fence with the west like Saudi Arabia does. I don’t think anyone in the ME is our friend, save for Israel. Sure would like a to find a way to protect them without getting involved in the global strategies of too many agendas and cooks in the kitchen.I have about as much hope for Turkey’s election as I do for our next one.

I agree, sound sucks.

You know, I’m getting pretty sick of liberals bald faced lies. No amount of historical or empirical evidence will teach them. It’s beyond reproach. Don’t shed a tear for these fascists

I really wanted to hear what Daniel Pipes had to say about Erdogan. Maybe Ezra could have this interview printed out and posted here so that we can read what he said. I think Erdogan is a very dangerous and cruel man. Those who oppose him in Turkey are running for their lives. There is no way that Turkey should be in NATO. And I’m disappointed that Trump trusts him.
commented 2018-04-24 22:21:17 -0400
I totally agree with previous comments. Ezra, if you want to have Daniel Pipes, tell him to buy a computer or something or get out of his forum in the Middle East. We never hear him.

Bruce: right with you…I listen to Pipes, when I can understand what his is saying…I go maybe 10%.
Modern electronics being what it is, we shouldn’t have to put up with this poor effort, Ezra.

Why can’t your guests use better microphones? The room ambiance makes it more difficult to listen to your guests. Poor Lorn sounded like he had a large bucket over his head. Why can’t they wear those headphones with the built-in mike? I use that on my laptop and my audio sounds natural. And though I look like a Kraftwerk wanna-be, I use a headset with boom microphone on Skype. Except for buffering problems, my New Zealand friend and I speak like we’re in the same room together.

I seem to recall Ezra writing a letter or a petition to the Turkish dictator telling him to eff off.
