#CPC18 SPECIAL: Scheer vs. Bernier, the Media Party's Rebel obsession & looking ahead to 2019

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

The Conservative Party banned The Rebel from their convention in Halifax, but of course, we're here anyway!

The big story, of course, is Maxime Bernier's resignation from the party, reportedly to start his own.

Tonight I'll explain why I think this was a bad decision, not just for the Conservatives, but for the country — especially with a federal election looming next year.

But there was another big story, at least according to the Media Party — that's right, it was about us!

Believe it or not, today the Globe & Mail reported on this earthshaking scandal:

That Hamish Marshall (who helped me start The Rebel Media in 2015, and now works for Andrew Scheer) said hello to Sheila Gunn Reid! Twice!

I'm not joking. The Globe & Mail is Canada's national newspaper of record, and they called this a "top story."

As funny and ridiculous as this "story" is, it indicates a serious problem — and not just with the Media Party's bias and weird priorities.

The Conservatives themselves are indulging in some bizarre "spin" too: I'll tell you what they said about The Rebel after this "news" went viral, and it doesn't give me much confidence in the party's ability to fight to win.

If they think they have to go into damage control after casually greeting former conservative colleagues in public, do you really think they have what it takes to go up against Trudeau and the Liberals?

Except Andrew Scheer’s worst enemy in the 2019 election will not be Justin Trudeau, possibly the laziest man in Canadian politics, whose schtick — the dancing, the selfies, the costumes – is wearing thin on Canadians.

Justin Trudeau is not Scheer’s opponent.

The Media Party is...

NEXT: Sheila Gunn Reid is with me here in Halifax, and we've got her interviews with two convention delegates and grassroots conservatives, Clinton P. Desveaux and Prem Singh. They discuss the divide that sometimes exists between ordinary members and the party establishment.

We'll have more coverage of the convention to come over the weekend.

Normally, this show is behind our paywall. If you like what you've seen tonight, and want to join our thousands of Premium Members so you can watch every episode, please SIGN UP! We have a great lineup of shows from me, Sheila and more that bring you, as always, the other side of the story!

Flat, we are talking about Rebel Media and why Conservative politicians want nothing to do with it. Why do you suppose Jason Kenney has disassociated himself with Rebel Media?

Amy did you even watch the show? How about the interview with Prem? Since you are so obsessed with race, tell me please what was hers, and how could you tell?
You are such a pathetic troll.

I thought Canadian’s were rough and tumble in the corners..with their elbows up and their shoulders down to level their opponent..then once they got the puck..they made a play to score..Canadian’s it’s time to step up and be heard!…

If Maxime Bernier has done anything, it is to shake things up.
He’s shaken up Smilin’ Andy.
He’s shaken up whomever is actually running the Conservative party and making all those bad decisions.
He’s shaken up the Conservative members and those who would vote Conservative.
He may have shaken the Liberals, but I’m sure I can’t comment on delusional people.
He may have shaken up the Fake News Liars – The Media Party – but who can believe anything they say.
He’s shaken things up and I’d say things needed shaking up…in the Conservative party!
It’s well past time for the CPC to move back towards conservatism and for a leader to come along and start leading…
…Or, I for one will be voting for a real fiscal and social conservative party – The Christian Heritage Party!
I’m not ‘unifying’ around lefty liberal light.

Andrew have done it to yourself… your holier than thou word spins have maligned you so much that you know you have zero credibility… If one or two people said you had zero credibility chances are one or two people would be wrong… When everybody says you have zero credibility chances are you have zero credibility. It works the same way for being an asshole.

Amy…

What would you say about an all white beauty pageant.?? would you call that racist…?? Would you call an all white college racist.?? Would you…?? What about an all-white TV channel.??

Let’s face it; Conservative politicians won’t touch Rebel Media with a ten-foot pole, from Brian Jean to Michelle Rempel. This is largely attributed to Rebel Media’s ongoing support for alt-right racism.

Ah, Flattey, you’re down to messenger-shooting I see.

Call me when you can refute my message.

The PhD has spoken again.. what did you say your PhD was Andrew…? Political science?? I think not ..

Well said Carole.
I want a leader who can lead our country. That is what a leader is supposed to do. Lead. That is what Canadians both want and need.
I do not want Trudeau elected. He has proven to Canadians he does not know how to lead. I still believe he is easily beatable once all the women in Canada understand he’s a groper and the Quebecers understand that Trudeau believes they are all racists.
The NDP are a joke.
I do want to elect someone like Scheer who has already proven he cannot lead because he could not keep and MP on his side that controlled 50% of the party that he trampled underfoot, and kowtows to the Canadian fake news media controlled by the globalists.
What alternative is there other than voting for a new party set up by Max?

Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked rule, the people mourn.

Yes, wherever the far left governs perfection will surely follow.
commented 2018-08-24 21:40:53 -0400
As you say Ezra, Scheer’s job was to unite the party and that was his message and promise during the leadership campaign. Perhaps someone can find a video of him saying so.
Impressed with Clinton Desveaux, a very articulate voice for the grassroots. Although saying he is not connected to politics as far as a career goes, he sounds like he could be a great MP.

Don’t forget that favourite socialist garden spot Venuzuela. Ahh yes, when you run out of food you can just eat the animals in the zoo but whatever will PETA say.

Oh and Sonny, do you think by telling the same blatant lie over and over you will gain credibility.
commented 2018-08-24 21:32:19 -0400
Sonny, you and Ahmed Hussen are of the same cloth. Your useless PM has left you nothing so accusing others of racism and bigotry is your talking point. Are you and that loser one and the same?
commented 2018-08-24 21:28:02 -0400
Robert, Ahmed Hussen is not only an ungrateful Canadian but a full out race baiter in his own right. Simply a disgusting human being.

“Sorry but I wll not vote for Scheer, neither for Trudeau, and surely not for Singh. This is a travesty of democracy”

Most ridings have any number of fringe candidate who you can vote for. They may not be popular, but so be it.

Does anyone really think that………………
…………………….
You sure have that right.

Even if Scheer were to win the next election, he would just be a Trudeau Clone.
Would not surprise me to find out that he is a Liberal spook.
