#CPC18 SPECIAL: Scheer vs. Bernier, the Media Party's Rebel obsession & looking ahead to 2019

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

The Conservative Party banned The Rebel from their convention in Halifax, but of course, we're here anyway!

The big story, of course, is Maxime Bernier's resignation from the party, reportedly to start his own.

Tonight I'll explain why I think this was a bad decision, not just for the Conservatives, but for the country — especially with a federal election looming next year.

But there was another big story, at least according to the Media Party — that's right, it was about us!

Believe it or not, today the Globe & Mail reported on this earthshaking scandal:

That Hamish Marshall (who helped me start The Rebel Media in 2015, and now works for Andrew Scheer) said hello to Sheila Gunn Reid! Twice!

I'm not joking. The Globe & Mail is Canada's national newspaper of record, and they called this a "top story."

As funny and ridiculous as this "story" is, it indicates a serious problem — and not just with the Media Party's bias and weird priorities.

The Conservatives themselves are indulging in some bizarre "spin" too: I'll tell you what they said about The Rebel after this "news" went viral, and it doesn't give me much confidence in the party's ability to fight to win.

If they think they have to go into damage control after casually greeting former conservative colleagues in public, do you really think they have what it takes to go up against Trudeau and the Liberals?

Except Andrew Scheer’s worst enemy in the 2019 election will not be Justin Trudeau, possibly the laziest man in Canadian politics, whose schtick — the dancing, the selfies, the costumes – is wearing thin on Canadians.

Justin Trudeau is not Scheer’s opponent.

The Media Party is...

NEXT: Sheila Gunn Reid is with me here in Halifax, and we've got her interviews with two convention delegates and grassroots conservatives, Clinton P. Desveaux and Prem Singh. They discuss the divide that sometimes exists between ordinary members and the party establishment.

We'll have more coverage of the convention to come over the weekend.

Normally, this show is behind our paywall. If you like what you've seen tonight, and want to join our thousands of Premium Members so you can watch every episode, please SIGN UP! We have a great lineup of shows from me, Sheila and more that bring you, as always, the other side of the story!

I must say about this tweeting and instant messaging..I was wrong about President Trump when he was running for President..I was one of those brainwashed Canadians that thought..man.. he’s not going to get elected with being in direct contact with the People of the USA.

Man..was I wrong..Keep on truckin..Mr. President Trump..God Bless and ride on….

Hope someone from Canada with mutual respect will shake hands with you and will stop the insanity that has infested our Nation.

I wonder when more real news about the convention will be posted by Ezra, the mainstream media is far too busy pushing their bias rather than reporting the news.

Prime example of excessive bias: Article about gun group wanting to talk with Scheer and the party -
https://www.thestar.com/halifax/2018/08/23/gun-lobby-takes-aim-at-conservative-convention-in-halifax.html

“Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer said earlier this year that his party has “always been on the side of robust licensing” when meeting with Toronto Mayor John Tory about gun-control measures.
However, in his leadership platform from last year — since removed from his website but still available in an online archive — Scheer said he would repeal any gun regulations that infringe on the rights of “law-abiding gun owners.” Scheer also recounted personal hunting memories in the section of his platform titled “Common Sense on Firearms,” including one tale of him killing a buck with a .308 rifle. …..

“There are many, many, many, many, many, many examples of legal gun owners who clearly are unstable or have a history of hate speech or mental-health issues or even violence that still have access to legal guns,” Cukier said in an interview."

What the heck does that have to do with simply reporting the facts?

Facts:
“Giltaca and at least one other member of the gun lobby group came to Halifax for the Conservative Party of Canada policy convention”

“We’re willing to work with any political party that wants to improve the system around firearms, improve it for sake of public safety, and also to reduce the level of harassment experienced by good law-abiding Canadians,” Giltaca said in an interview."

Obviously there is no story for the leftard journalists unless they can bash the conservatives, bash legal gun owners and use the article as a soapbox to push their ideology. That is NOT reporting the news it should be listed as AN OPINION PIECE but they call it NEWS.

What Ezra needs to do is to create a separate chat room where everybody could get together and chat to their hearts content. Load video’s, tell jokes, whatever. Simple rules for Language, Content and so on. This would be good for weekends, allowing Rebel staff some time off. It would also allow for more serious content to be discussed on the regular pages.

On another topic…….If Anybody is interested in making their own video’s in a studio or at home, just let me know. My Son has a Film studio with all the equipment, including Green Screen for professional looking backgrounds. Alternatively he will travel. I will give you his Website address where you can contact him and you can make your own arrangements.
Studio is located in Carp, near Ottawa.

FPV #31 – Bernier’s Departure, And The Real Conservative Party

Someone posted the link above yesterday. Its a good one, and exactly how I feel. I have really vacillated about Scheer, because like most conservatives we want Justin out and our country back really bad. Now that there is someone who speaks about Canada with passion and is clearly not been bought off by the puppet masters of the global agenda, I simply cannot look at Scheer as a solution to anything. We have to get this country right again and maybe a strong opposition with a real leader who reflects the best needs and interests of Canadians and a minority liberal government would have more potential than a cpc run by Scheer and a few hard nosed cino’s(you know who you are). Bernier hopefully has some time. I have to go with the guy I feel is not lying to me.

There is no way I am trusting this party anymore, let the chips fall where they may. I’m hitching my wagon to Bernier. I think many will..

Trump is aware of Big Tech’s shenanigans, expect something from him soon. I don’t know what it would mean in Canada.

To the best of my knowledge, Ezra owns this Website, it should be safe but I guess Google could stop him from posting on You Tube.

So a troll/trudeau gets to say what they want to say..but…for example..Alex Jones and others get cut off and they get their livelihood shut down?

Tommy Robinson and his Family’s lives are now in jeopardy…why? Because he stood up and gave his opinions on facts…

There is definitely a major storm brewing..and I’m being politically correct by calling it a storm…

Actually Ron, Smilin’ Andy could have avoided the embarrassment by simply inviting The Rebel and explaining to the media it was part of his free speech platform. You know, he could have said “Yes, what they report is despicable, but they have a right to be here just like everyone else.” Instead, good old Andy chose to look like a complete hypocrite. It is ironic that after all that, they still insinuated that Andy was in cahoots with The Rebel.

Alex Jones has been right a good percentage of the time..If it weren’t for people like him..we all would be still getting our fake news from cnn, cbc, etc.

Make no mistake..if Alex Jones gets shut down..who’s next?

Alex Jones is picked on because he has forwarded some pretty far out conspiracy theories in his time. He is an easy first target for silicon valley.

No more reports by the Rebel from the convention? The commentary by Ezra from the beginning could have been made from his studio in Toronto rather than from Halifax except for the fact that their prsence in Halifax contributed to the inane Globe & Mail narrative.

Keith, on one hand I dread another Trudeau term. On the other hand I dread Andrew Scheer……………
……………………………………………….
Philip, I know what you mean but I think it would be better to be rid of Trudeau first and then we can worry about Scheer. If the Liberals manage to get reelected for another term, then Canada will become another Hiroshima.

Why is Alex Jones(Info wars) being picked on?

To say someone who engages trolls is “complicit” with them is simply incorrect. Such a comment assumes failure to effectively deal with the troll’s arguments. I do not assume such failure. Some here can engage the trolls while others can have discussions free from interference. Think of it as running interference. As far as having fun while doing it goes, if you don’t enjoy what you do then why do it?

You know Robert G., when you give trolls a good thrashing I find they tend to leave you alone. Even they know when they’ve been “owned”. I like Kurt Schlicter’s approach. For too long conservatives were the silent majority and they refused to fight back hoping the lefties would just go away. Well, how is that approach working for you?

LOL ok that is funny, picture of monkey wearing a red hat with a magnifying glass when I clicked on your link Robert. IS that representative of a Liberal Troll?

It is not wasteful to engage a troll. When one engages a troll, one enhances one’s knowledge of the trolls arguments and it encourages one to enhance one’s own knowledge and to hone one’s skills. This is hardly a waste.
