Do Notley and Trudeau really want a pipeline built — or are they quietly glad BC is blocking it?

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

As we've told you since her election as Alberta's NDP premier, Rachel Notley has been anti-oil for years.

So, of course, as premier, Notley was against the Keystone XL pipeline to the U.S. — and she was glad Obama killed it. She was against the Northern Gateway pipeline to the B.C. coast — and she was glad Trudeau killed it, even though the National Energy Board approved it.

She was against the Energy East pipeline to Quebec and New Brunswick. When it was killed, she didn’t object.

Then there's Rachel Notley’s old friend, John Horgan, the NDP premier of B.C., where Notley herself used to work for the NDP, where half of Notley’s staff came from. Horgan said he wanted to review the last remaining pipeline proposal, the Trans-Mountain Pipeline expansion by the company Kinder Morgan. That pipeline has been happily pumping away for more than half a century. It’s how B.C. has been getting its oil for so long.

Horgan opposes it. And really, so does Notley. I say that, because in her two plus years as premier, she has never lifted a finger to promote it.

But with Jason Kenney and the United Conservatives gaining in popularity, she’s panicking. She had an emergency cabinet meeting and said she's going to buy any more electricity from British Columbia!

Except those talks between B.C. and Alberta about electricity broke off last year. Notley just didn’t cancel them in a huff. She’s lying again — playfighting with her friends in B.C.

Notley has been pretending, for about ten minutes now, that she deeply deeply loves the oil patch and pipelines.

Not even the CBC seem to believe her anymore.

Should you...?

NEXT: Senior Edmonton Sun columnist Lorne Gunter and I discuss this matter further.

Lorne warns that "civil disobedience will come" if anti-oil activists don't get their way, and shares what else his government sources have told him.

THEN: David Menzies is covering the Ontario PC leadership race for The Rebel.

He's in studio with me to talk about Doug Ford's big Toronto campaign event — and the entrance of "Princess" Caroline Mulroney into the race.

FINALLY: Your letters to me. PLUS I talk about some of the Rebel Producers' Club events I've been hosting lately (and what one fellow told me, that really stuck a chord...)

Sebastien Gorka is what Justin Trudeau wishes he could be: authoritative and substantive. I’m sure Gorka could teach our Windsock a few things beyond his High School drama club rhetoric.

Here is what PAFE (Parents As First Educators) has to say about Mulroney, Elliott and Ford on the sex-ed curriculum (just got their email)

Caroline Mulroney
The CBC reported Caroline Mulroney has already declared that she “WILL NOT reopen the divisive debate” on Kathleen Wynne’s Radical Sex-Ed Agenda.
While this is disappointing, it is not surprising. Mulroney has accepted on to her campaign team top political “strategists” who were responsible for advising Patrick Brown during his disastrous tenure as PC Party leader.
What is disturbing to PAFE, however, is that Monte McNaughton has now shocked many of us by endorsing Mulroney’s candidacy and by virtue of this, is supporting her position on sex-ed.

Monte McNaughton, once the most vocal opponent to Wynne’s sex-ed, is now endorsing the one candidate in the race who has promised not to revisit the issue. (This topic alone warrants a separate email.)

Christine Elliot
Recall that Christine Elliot ran in the 2015 PC leadership race.
[note this] Towards the end of the campaign, she released a statement saying that in order for the PC Party to win the next election members should not “choose a leader whose outdated views fall far outside today’s mainstream.”
She added that “Patrick and Monte’s ideological rejection of a modern and inclusive Ontario will do nothing more than lose the next election and secure another term for Kathleen Wynne and her Liberals.”
Fast forward to this 2018 leadership race. An interview with the Toronto Sun claims that Christine Elliot is “willing to REVISIT the Liberals’ controversial sex-ed curriculum.”

Doug Ford
Doug Ford has recently said that he, too, will review Kathleen Wynne’s Radical Sex-Ed Agenda and “consult with parents” according to an interview with AM640.
Doug’s brother, former Toronto mayor Rob Ford, was the only high profile endorsement of McNaughton’s 2015 PC leadership campaign and was an outspoken critic of Wynne’s revisions to the sex-ed curriculum.
Doug Ford’s statements are also a tiny step in the right direction.

Hello Ezra:

The Toronto SUN mentioned Justin’s vacuously moronic “peoplekind” in it’s Op-ed and in a news item in today’s paper as well. But hey, Justin’s going for a Nobel Peace Prize and now he’ll go down in history as the person to coin the word peoplekind. Finally, an actual accomplishment.

Well it’s going to get more complicated:
people-o-war, not man-o-war
Peoplechester, not Manchester
Peoplederin, not Manderin
Hupeople, not Human
Praying Peoplis, not Praying Mantis
yep … gonna take some time to figure all this out!

Ezra, keep it up with your segments on the Ontario Conservatives Leadership race. We in the West get so little on that game changing situation. Although I never liked Patrick, I feel it was an unfair way to unload him.
I have a concern regarding the Ontario Conservatives ability to choose the best candidate. Those voters back there seem to choose celebrities with no business or political skills; look at Trudeau.
There is no doubt that Caroline Mulroney has a lot going for her, attractiveness, name, education and money. She is one celebrity that is not ready to revive a drowning Province; however I feel that Doug Ford would love the challenge and do well.
Congratulations on the exciting new Rebel people that you recruited.

I’m surprised Kinder Morgan has hung in there this long. What companies would even bother with Canada at all in this political climate?

I agree with Menzies on Elliott’s tweet , she is playing both sides.
By the way Menzies whoever is dressing you is doing a fine job. Looking sharp tonight.

Sorry to say about Carolyn Mulroney, that being the daughter of lyin’ Brian isn’t exactly going to help her. Nope.

I just want the freaks, perverts and child molesters that infested the Ontario Government and Ministry of Education to get laid to waste. Why should this disgusting pedophilic cohort trump the genuine concerns of parents to protect their children from this insidious trend.
Stop gender confusing kindergarten child to lead them to a life of suicide, depression, violence and substance abuse – it’s Child-abuse.
Stop promoting anal sex and masturbation to young children – it’s Child-abuse.
Stop legislating more and more excuses to terminate #Parental Rights and give the child “protection” industry more reasons to apprehend and traffic children to meet quotas and revenue targets. That’s not just Child-abuse, it’s EVIL.
If Doug Ford can turn that legislation around. I’m 100% behind you.

- The Liberals & NDP are in the Canada killing business. They’re putting all their leftist hair brained schemes into practice – their deindustrialization, perverted sex ed. policies, open borders, anti-veteran, anti-oil, green energy crap, etc. Theses schemes are guaranteed failures but they refuse to see it & as they fail they look for people to scream “racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, Islamophobic” at because they don’t have anything else.

- As it stands right now – my vote goes to the Trillium Party. It’s up to the PCs to win my vote back & I’m sure there are many others who feel the same way. Doug Ford as leader would go a long way towards doing that but I don’t trust the PC party at this point. I voted for a Mulroney once & regretted it. This version of a Mulroney sounds like she’s selling “hope & change”. Hmm, wonder where I heard that coming from an unknown political entity before?

- Great to hear Katie made it back from South Africa okay. That lady has courage.

Caroline Mulroney in the race, not a good idea. Another Mulroney could well turn away Liberals who have had enough of Trudeau. This would result in them turning toward the NDP.

The only reason Notley is doing anything is because the inmates are starting to rattle the bars. Even the leftist radio 630 ched and QR77 are have calling for action from Notley. Meanwhile, Kenny, the man who would be the peoples new jailer, is busy purging the party of x WR party members from his politically correct cabinet.

J Kay, what a lame offering by the CBC.
CBC forgot to mention Trudeau’s idiotic comparison of ISIS fighters welcomed back by LPC and immigrants from Greece, Italy, Vietnam etc… who came to Canada in the past.
His Islamocentric policies are crazy!
CBC also was silent on telling a Canadian veteran they are asking for more than Canada can give, after this veteran explained he was prepared to give his life during in line of duty and what he didn’t expect was Canada turning it’s back on him!!! Trudeau also didn’t thank this veteran for his service before insulting his intelligence.

The “peoplekind” article written by the CBC failed to mention Trudeau cut this woman off and interjected his non-word to disrupt her question and put her down!!!! If anyone is going to derail NAFTA it’s the LPC, we all know that!

Is there no new political talent in Canada? We had Justin Trudeau, son of a former prime minister, elected. Now we have Carolyn Mulroney, daughter of a former prime minister, running for premier in Ontario, along with Christine Elliott, wife of a former federal MP, and, last, but not least, Doug Ford, brother of a former mayor in Toronto. Why don’t some of these would be dynasties step aside to allow for some new talent in Ottawa, the provinces and the cities?

God I hate those anti oil activists. Anybody here got any good ideas as to how to deal with them?

CBC.ca has just posted an article on Trudeau’s latest goof.

Rebel Media takes on ‘peoplekind’ “This man is reprehensible,” former White House staffer Sebastian Gorka tweeted after Trudeau said pro-life groups were out of touch with Canadian society. Gorka is now a contributor to the Canadian-based conservative news outlet Rebel Media, which was among the first to pick up on the “peoplekind” remark after footage of it began circulating online.

Nanny Notely and Climate Barbie use the same nonsensical climate dictionary & bafflegab! Do people really fall for this?!!!

Great interview with Lorne Gunter, I think he’s right about the rumour he spoke of.

So glad Katie is back in the UK.

I don’t believe anything Notley says. She’s lying to the public to try and keep power. She’s colluded with Trudeau and the BC NDP to stop the pipeline. Our only hope is for Jason Kenney to win AB and then go after the Federal Government. BC doesn’t have the right to stop the pipeline. It’s their globalist agenda to kill the Canadian economy, and then strip away our assets for China.
