“Worst business deal in Canadian history”: Trudeau pays $4.5B for existing Kinder Morgan pipeline — but NOT the expansion (yet)

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

Justin Trudeau just offered $4.5 billion to buy a pipeline.

Not the Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain Expansion project, though, but the existing Trans Mountain pipeline, the one that has been happily pumping away for more than half a century.

So he could then offer to buy the $7.4 billion expansion project on top of it. And then offer to pay for any losses coming from political litigation.

He just promised, really, to give about $20 billion to a Texas pipeline company.

Do you think Trudeau can build a pipeline as well as a private pipeline company can? On time, on budget?

Because nothing in this deal so far actually addresses the problem:

Getting the expansion built.

Kinder Morgan was never short on money to build the expansion. They were short on politicians willing to push illegal protesters out of the way, and expedite legal challenges.

And that’s still not here. The Liberals have no clue.

Kinder Morgan was going to walk away from the whole expansion on Thursday, so this $4.5 billion just buys the Liberal some time to come up with an idea.

They’ve had years to do that already.

I think it’s clear what this really is:

It’s Justin Trudeau spending $4.5 billion as a lifeline to Rachel Notley to get her reelected next spring. So she can say, the pipeline will be built.

I continue to believe this pipeline will not be built. But we’ll all be on the hook for that now...

NEXT: Over the weekend, Raheel Raza, president of Muslims Facing Tomorrow, asked us to run her poignant defence of Tommy Robinson on our website as soon as possible.

Now she joins me to talk more about why she, a practising Muslim, supports him so strongly.

THEN: Christine Van Geyn of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation comes on with her calculations of the real cost of the those Ontario Liberal and NDP spending promises.

FINALLY: Your messages to me!

It’s coincidence, I was wondering how bad it has to get before we can fight back to where we are. We’ve had more than one straw breaking the camels back. Tommy forced to plead guilty,Rosanne crucified, nothing racist in her statement. I’m sorry Ezra and Raheel, there is no radical Islam. There is only Islam. There is no path to salvation except through Jesus Christ. It’s a narrow and rocky path difficult to navigate. He warned,”Beware false prophets, you will know them by their fruits.” There has been no peace since Mohammad.
Jesus didn’t come to bring peace but to deliver the sword. The Holy Spirit. There is only one rock that He built His foundation on. As corrupt as it may appear, it is the only authority established by Christ

How does purchasing a pipeline solve the “delay” issue? Nothing has been solved. Before the purchase we heard over & over again how the gov’t had jurisdiction over the provinces & the pipeline would be built, but today Morneau said for the first time, they had to purchase the pipeline to have jurisdiction to build it. So which is it, either they lied to us or they didn’t know. I will not hold my breath on whether this will get built & Scheer was right, Trudeau used the taxpayers to bail him out. It’s beyond pathetic.

In looking back on this boondoggle it is evident that this was the plan all along. Given his basic admiration for China’s basic dictatorship it is surprising. PM Do-nothing could have removed the protestors in a trice if he had wanted to (even his old man whom I despised dealt with the FLQ). But he didn’t want to. He wanted to use the stalemate as an excuse to nationalize the pipeline. Apparently he also a level of admiration for Hugo Chavez.

Million man march Fraser? The Duke of Wellington once said of his army “I don’t know what effect these men will have on the enemy, but, by God, they frighten me.”

$4.5 Billion for a 50 year old pipeline, when Kinder-Morgan paid 350million10 years ago. Great deal. Its a disaster waiting to happen unless it is strictly maintained as KD did.
Morneau said that they are hiring a building full of people to manage their new asset. Government workers can do it?

The next election will be Trudeau attacking Scheer for promising to sell TMX. He’ll use rhetoric designed to make Cdns feel like CPC wants to sell out Canada’s birthright. People will fall for it. Mark my words. Meanwhile Justin will also slow-walk construction, or stall it blaming Horgan’s court challenge, so he can cancel the whole project after he wins another majority.

If the NDP wins a majority of seats it will seal the fate of Ontario. What more can be said.

- Gee, the Liberals kill a sector of the economy & then leave taxpayers on the hook for it – all so they can pretend to save face. Pay double for an existing pipeline & then decide to spend $7.4 billion on the expansion. The expansion was to be paid for with private money but now the taxpayers will be on the hook & you can bet it will end up costing way more than $7.4 billion if the government is doing it. So they kill billions of dollars in private investment in needed pipelines & then leave the taxpayers on the hook for a pipeline that they dramatically overpaid for. Another Liberal victory – many more Liberal victories & we’re finished. So are the foreign paid activists going to pack up & leave now?

- Islam was reforming to some degree at one time. Look at pictures from Iran before the revolution. It’s not moderates that are flooding into the West now, it’s the entire spectrum & that’s very bad. Tommy was reporting on the worst of the worst & the government decided to strip him of his rights & freedoms. Disgusting.

- Wynne has been trying to promise everything to everyone in order to get votes. The NDP’s platform has been to out promise the Liberals. Ford says that he will go through the books & find the money he needs to pay for his promises. After 15 years of Liberal mismanagement I have no doubt at all that he’ll find that money & more.

Larry Beler, I do not experience the problems you outlined in your post. I wish you well in solving it.

Ontario will probably vote in an NDP government. The very best scenario, in my opinion, will be a slim minority Conservative government.

I couldn’t help noticing in the videos that both the Invisible Canadian Energy Minister and the Invisible Alberta Energy Minister were visible. In the background. Saying nothing, while Notley and Morneau did all the talking.
Really, really hard NOT to notice that.

Does anyone else have trouble watching Ezras Videos, I constantly have the “circle of death” sometimes lasting 10 minutes or more and it happens frequently in each video. I can say with certainty it is not at my end because I watch videos on youtube, dtube and many more and rarely have the same problem. Perhaps a transcript of his video would be nice that way I can download it and read it without interruption.

trudeau’s crew want control over the pipeline…it will be sold to one of their crew also…of course this is IMHO..

Notley has completely thrown Albertans under the bus. Peter Lougheed fought hard against Pierre Trudeau for the Constitutional Amendment 92A during the NEP Crisis. Trudeau did not have the Constitutional right to nationalize a pipeline filled with Albertan oil without Notley’s consent.

Notley did NOT campaign on the Carbon Tax, nor on nationalizing Alberta’s energy. Albertans need to stop the bleeding, draft and circulate a paper petition (since Notley made electronic petitions inadmissible) demanding a snap election. The insanity needs to end. Notley has racked up around $90 billion in debt. Albertans can not pay it back without energy revenues and a strong economy.

Current NDP petition guidelines:

Is it possible that turdo liberals have bought KM pipeline so that it could be transferred to a state owned chinese entity at later date, which would’ve not been possible if owned by Kinder-Morgan?

I stronngly disagree withRaheel Raza. Islamism isn’t the problem, Islam is. The entire religion is a sick parody of the Bible. Radical jihadis are being good Muslims who are following the teachings of Mohammad. They’re the same as Christians who take Christ seriously when he preached we should love one another and do good to those who dispitefully use us. Jihad is Islam and Islam is jihad, just like real Christianity is about the great commission to preach salvation to the entire world. Moderate Muslims and Christians are those who don’t take the Quran and the Bible seriously.

Duh? Canada just Nationalized an Existing Pipeline that a Private Company (Kinder Morgan) was planning on Doubling the Capacity of with’ Private Dollars. Taxpayers Overpayed 4.5 Billion$ for what? More Socialism & Unemployment? ‘Doubtful the Expansion will ever be built’

Paying a Texas oil company 4.5 billion Canadian tax payers money so we can ship all our resources and jobs to China ……the level of stupid treasonous incompetence is fathomless …..only these idiotic trust fund babies could cook this up
