Canada’s liberals are copying the anti-Trump “resistance” in their war against Doug Ford

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

The City of Toronto has 47 city councillors. As you can imagine, it's like 47 one-man political parties. Nothing gets done.

Doug Ford, the new Ontario premier, said: Los Angeles can survive with 15 city councillors. Boston can survive with 13. Seattle has just nine. Maybe Toronto can get by on, say, 25 instead of 47.

So he passed that law to reduce the number of councillors. Which is obviously popular — if you had a chance to get rid of excess politicians, wouldn’t you?

Well, a far-left judge overruled that, saying it was illegal. Of course, it wasn’t. The Constitution says cities are "the creature of provincial governments" — which means provinces can change them, theoretically even fire every mayor in the province.

So Ford just invoked the "notwithstanding clause," which overrules a judge. Again, it’s perfectly legal: it’s right there in the Constitution; other governments in Canada, especially Quebec, have used it dozens of times. And this is a perfect case for it.

You can imagine the reaction from Toronto City Council...

Watching their antics — the lawsuits, the protests, the riots, the insanity — I realized what we’re in for now:

The anti-Trump mania is going to be a central theme of the left in the next election, of course.

But I think the bigger one will be the de-legitimization of Doug Ford. They’re going to import the tactics they’ve used against Trump through “the resistance.”

We’re already starting to see it, as I'll show you tonight.

The upcoming election will be about anything other than Justin Trudeau’s own achievements — because those achievements are few and far between.

People aren’t happy with Trudeau, or provincial or municipal versions of him. Which is why Trudeau wants his foil to be, not Andrew Scheer, but Donald Trump. And when a conservative is “accidentally” elected, like Doug Ford, don’t let them for a moment govern. Instead, riot, protest, litigate, storm out of parliament.

Doug Ford is off to a great start. But that won’t last — the media-liberal-activist-protester industrial complex is about to rev up.

They lost Ontario, they’re going to lose Alberta, they’ll probably lose Quebec.

They’ll do absolutely anything they can not to lose Prince Justin’s re-election.

It’s going to be brutal...

NEXT: Our Alberta Bureau Chief, Sheila Gunn Reid, joins me to talk about her latest bombshell investigation:

Trudeau's Liberals are giving $50,000 a year to each migrant family — but government documents exclusively obtained by The Rebel show bureaucrats plotting to keep tax payers from finding out!

Last bit, promise. In other words, I thinks some of these commenters are selling Vernier short. I just don’t see him as a stupid, reckless or egotistical man at all. Rather, he’s seriously principalled, courageous and highly-adept at understanding the risks any vote-splitting might entail but he’s taking a calculated and likely productive gamble that Quebecers especially will be totally fed up with Trudeau on the immigrant front not least of all ( Quebecois have absolutely 0 tollerance for non-integrating folks and afronts to Catholicism). He also thinks Andy and his crowd will continue to uninspire them and lots of serious conservatives across Canada so his PPC will lap those folks up who otherwise might not be excited enough to hold their noses and vote for Andy.

So chin up. He knows what he’s doing.

in next year’s election. Personally, I think Scheer’s weakness and generally soft support in Quebec especially may result in many more additional conservative seats there than otherwise sufficient to overwhelm any losses in split-conservative ridings elsewhere. The consequence will be that the combined CPC and PPC caucuses will outnumber the Liberals, paving the way for a short-lived, completely unworkable Liberal minority government if they take the reins at all. More likely is that the CPC’s will form a government at that point with the negotiated support of the PPC’s and/or they will merge with Vernier at the helm as PM shortly theteafyer.

Incidentally, I’ve been a bit surprised by some comments expressing serious concern and eben conviction that Bernier’s courageous move with his nre party will surely split the conservative vote leading to the CPC’s loss in next yrsr’

I noticed over the past few days all these shrill headlines in the US media concerning Kavanaugh and yet another sexual assault / harassment accusation by a me-tooer. Short of potentially legitimate Weinstein-qualified complaints, I gave up even opening up these stories long ago as just so much more bloody nonsense by childish, attention-seeking liars, sycophants and SJW’s.

It was in error therefore that I accidentally opened up a Kavanaugh headline this morning, the opening sentence of which described the accuser and Kavanaugh as being 15 and 17 respectively at the time of the alleged hanging’ offence?!! I could hardly believe my eyes…and will exercise even more care in future to avoid clicking on such ludicrous stories from a media and a world clearly gone irretrievably mad.

I had no use for Patrick Brown but the leftist media pulled the same “me too” smear to take him out.
It backfired and we ended up with the leftist media’s worst nightmare Doug Ford .
The soviet style leftists want a single party system and will destroy anyone and everyone that joins the Trump Administration .
Don’t think for a second that they don’t hate you and me and will destroy us even in our workplaces.

Ezra, you mentioned Sheila will report on COP24 in Poland in December. I think it’s more important that she go to Morroco Dec 5-11 for the UN open-borders conference and signing ceremony.
The UN has sneakily scheduled the UN Global Migration conference/signing during the climate conference. MSM will dutifully concentrate on COP24 while ignoring the international open-borders agreement.
This international open-borders decree FAR outweighs the importance of the annual climate change gabfest.
Don’t ignore this.

Judges are not permitted to rule on politics, morality etc. That is right of parliament.
Judges who violate this principle are guilty of breach of trust. Charge them.

Trudeau’s Resume!
Peoplekind. Veterans asking for too much. The budget will balance itself. Ummm ummmm ummmm ummm. Canada has no core identity. Obsession with Indian wedding clothes. Bollywood dancing. Can’t get a trade deal done…with anyone. Can’t get a pipeline done…in any direction. Creepy sock fetish. More selfies than a class of teenage girls. Replaces Canada’s old F-18s with Australia’s old F-18s. Waves to an empty tarmac when boarding the government plane. Thinks we should thank muslim refugees for moving to Canada. His love of all things Castro and all things Red China. Imposes tough regulations and taxes on oil from Alberta, Saskatchewan and Newfoundland but not oil from Saudi Arabia. Every new project has to undergo strict environmental assessments…except cement plants in Quebec. Says that a proposed pipeline must consider “the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors” (what does that even mean?) Thinks old stock Canadians should be replaced. Chases foreign companies (and their investment capital) out of the country like they have the plague. Chases our WW1 soldiers out of our national anthem… lest we forget. Has a “scheduling conflict” when Trump calls to talk about the new NAFTA trade deal. Brings in 10s of thousands of unemployable “refugees”. Tweets out a welcome to 10s of thousands more fake refugees from the US (even gets the RCMP to be their bellhops). All his fake refugees get better healthcare than Canadians do, while they put a strain on all our public services and contribute little. Continuously uses identity politics…then complains about identity politics. Pays $10.5 million to a convicted terrorist who murdered an unarmed army medic. Forgot Alberta was a province. Called small business owners “tax cheats” while he sucks at the teat of a family trust fund. Taxes cow farts. Only intolerant racists would ask questions about money spent on illegal immigrants. We have an equalization program but he gives half of it to one province. Says “diversity is our greatest strength” but his divisiveness tear us apart. Screws up our trade relations with our most important trade partner because he failed to stop Chinese steel from flowing through to the states and he won’t give up supply management which hurts Canadian consumers. $8 million for a skating rink. $4.5 billion for a 65 year old pipeline (and KM uses that money to build a pipeline in Texas) Billions added to the national debt. Kokanee groper. Illegal migrants are just “irregular border crossers”. Gets India to invest $250 million in Canada but we have to invest $750 million in India first. Invites a man convicted of trying to murder an Indian government official to a Canadian state dinner…in India. Accuses the government of India of setting it up when they complain. Compared returning ISIS terrorists to Italian immigrants and says they will be an extraordinary powerful voice for Canada. Terrorists deserve to keep their Canadian citizenship. Thinks businesses should hire immigrants over Canadians. Gives Canada Summer Jobs funding to a Imam that calls for the destruction of Israel. Thinks Canada is 100 years old instead of 150. Generally making life less affordable for the average Canadian. Gave Canadian taxpayer’s money to the Clinton Foundation. Gave Canadian taxpayer’s money to Hamas. Still gives foreign aid to China Gives $1.37 Billion to BC who obstructs the TransMountain pipeline but cuts funds to Saskatchewan for not imposing a carbon tax. Admits diversity is entropy. Responds to criminals using smuggled handguns by saying law abiding Canadians shouldn’t have handguns. Increasing the number of personal pronouns to 50. The only PM convicted of ethics violations. Outrage over fake racist attacks, says nothing about real terrorist attacks. Takes a personal day for every pair of socks he owns. Sits like he has no balls…which is true…..
Stupid and incompetent

Doug Ford’s special meeting today was a waste of time. Turns out, he didn’t read the procedure manual and couldn’t debate his pissing contest with Toronto. How much did that cost taxpayers, Doug?

Never mind the deep irony of someone who not that long ago decided he wanted to make free speech mandatory at universities deciding he could selectively exempt himself from the part of the Charter defending free speech when it got too inconvenient.

Thanks Robert Greeley for Muslim sort of woman throwing coffee on real Canadian protester as another is in court getting charged with murder of Marrisa.

That’s the trouble with being on the right; we don’t fight back—all those people watching and that POS just WALKS AWAY.
Even Gavin McGinnis boasted that 10 of them had 4 Anti-fa surrounded and they let them go. Lack of punishment allows them to repeat their cowardly actions.
