Ezra's election night monologue: Canadians will soon come to miss Stephen Harper, even though they won't admit it

Rebel Staff

Ezra Levant welcomed viewers to the first ever LIVE broadcast from TheRebel.media's brand new crowdfunded studio.

He called the federal election campaign "trench warfare where every day the consensus media had one goal: Stop Harper."

Ezra rounds up "lowlights" from the Media Party's biased, all out campaign to throw Stephen Harper out of office: Their wall-to-wall obsession with the Mike Duffy trial and a previously unknown Conservative heckler, for example -- while ignoring more important stories that made the Liberals and NDP look bad, including one with connections to the Chinese Communist Party.

Justin Trudeau gets compared to Barack Obama a lot, but Ezra points out that at least Obama is a Harvard educated lawyer and senator, whose election symbolized a step towards racial reconciliation in America.

But what does Trudeau's election represent? Ezra asks. Nepotism? That your last name matters? That celebrity is more important than accomplishment?

He ends with a somber prediction...

That’s why Prime Ministers and Presidents have a staff – so that decisions can be made with the input of everyone on that staff.

I must say that I am troubled by the election results. I feel that I was watching a railroading in process via the gushing media. I have never so much butt kissing in my life by members of the media who should know better. Two examples would be Peter Mansbridge and Dawna Friesen. Trudeau simply does not have the qualifications, education, experience or mental capacity to run this country. In talking to folks who voted Liberal but also see shortcomings in Justin, they have told me that his staff will assist him in making decisions. Wow. That’s why we hire a P.M. Maybe his puppeteers should have ran instead.

Harper was the best PM in our history and the most honest too.

@peter "Those words from the mouth of a leftie / socialist mean, “now believe with out question the words I am about to tell you, little lemming …” "
I notice you didn’t address the contents of my post, or why you would question it. …

@liza, Canada isn’t “flush”. The debt is still increasing. The “surplus” only applies to a very specific part of the budget, but even with Harper’s outgoing budget they’re issuing more debt than they’re repaying. The big difference is that Trudeau is honest about it.

Upon more reflections think Jimmy da Silva could be right. Trudeau may end up with a second term and possibly even a third term. As long as the goodies are flowing and the special interest groups are looked after he is a sure thing and if you look to the south no one seems to care or have a plan to pay down their massive debt. To be honest I would prefer the liberals be in power when it hits the fan because whoever is in power whether they are the ones that amassed the debt or not they will be the ones who get blamed for it.

If you think Canada is doomed, then you have been drinking too much conservative fear mongering and propaganda Kool-Aid.

I am quite sure Justin has the best intentions and wants Canada to be great. I don’t think he is wringing his hands saying – now, I can destroy Canada. BWAHAHAHA!

Bedwetter lefty bottom feeders like Benjiman reid, come on here and have the audacity to call us redneck!
This was indeed a massive media character assassination.
I won’t enjoy seeing what Harper has accomplished for Canadians, (whether the left accept it or not), being torn down, brick by brick. I will miss the country finally being flush. I will miss what Harper was planning to implement. I will miss his stand with Israel, and against terrorists. I will miss all he’s done to keep Canada strong and free.
Harper had Canada’s best interests at heart. He loved Canada, and I appreciate his efforts.
Trudeau loves only himself.

Further to my last introspective post – The current political climate and strategy is to work one faction of Canadians against another – give them labels and pit them against each other for political gain – this is true of CPC strategy/policy as well. I think we as a nation have outgrown this and the time is ripe for a MOVEMENT (detached from partisan politics and cabals) to make coalition and find common ground between former warring factions and champion the concept of populist democracy and independent MPs who are answerable to their constituents not a party whip and the special interest they represent.

This would effectively disempower the 1% ( who currently own the old line party apparatus) and put populist agendas back on the public policy priority agenda instead of those of the 1% and their special interest front lobbies. The Owners of the Liberal party will become evident shortly when they call in their markers -and I intend to make those who thought they ere voting for a “people’s agenda” aware of it.

Well Ezra, I won’t miss Harper. I’m basically a Western populist democrat and a libertarian and I joined and supported CPC as a matter of no place to park a meaningful vote after Reform was cratered by eastern political fixers and career rainmakers. CPC and Harper went off the rails after the second policy convention when it became obvious he and the cabinet were ignoring the party grass roots agendas and policy direction and making policy/strategy in a vacuum. When a one man party fails there is only one man to blame. The same will occur to the incoming regime which is built around one man and his insiders.

That said – this is a time to rebuild – the coalition that formed CPC has to return to gras roots democracy and populist politics – that alone is the salvation of building an effective opposition to the coming catastrophe and offer voters an attractive workable alternative

Very disappointed in the election results last night. This is all the fault of the communist ran CBC and other Canadian main stream media. They were all against Stephen Harper, constantly spreading lies about him and praising Justin and Tom, the two communist friendly candidates, hypnotizing the young and the gullible citizens into believing the lies. I hate to think of the nightmares Canada is going to face in the coming years. Especially seeing that one of Justin’s top advisers is Islamic (or are there more of these rats in hiding) and he is going to listen to them, ushering sharia law into parliament to appease the bastards. This is when Trudeau needs to get the boot for treason along with each and every one of the other treasonous communist islamists. Islam doesn’t belong in Canada’s government or Canada period.
Ezra, the sound from your new system is not good. I had to turn my volume up to almost 100% to hear it. I hope this can be fixed. We need to be “hearing” from your website a lot in the coming months as to what the puppet Justin is doing to our country.

Russell – I agree but it wasn’t just Mr Harper’s term. Mr Manning was a wild eyed redneck from the west, Mr Day was a crazy fundamentalist barely out of the stone age and Mr Harper was the victim of one of the worst examples of character assassination both in the twitterworld, the media and a through a constant series of liberal attacks all while claiming the high ground. No matter who the next leader is, expect to see the slurs continue.
On another subject – Ezra resigned his candidacy to let Mr Harper run in the riding. Will Ezra run for the seat when Mr Harper decides to resign? I can see a rat pack (a liberal innovation) tearing PM Trudeau to pieces in the House. Go Ezra!

While at first listen I would have to agree with Ezra, I have come to the conclusion that I am not entirely sure Canadians will come to miss Stephen Harper. Given what we watched unfold in last nights election I am left with the same opinion as Theo Caldwell, the majority of Canadians simply don’t understand what is at stake. Canadians put on display a level of political acumen that comes in somewhere around the level of a junior high kid voting in a student union election. The majority of Canadians voted for the most simplistic and empty platitudes conceivable. Would a people that would be wooed by such obvious ineptness honestly understand the gravity of giving, said ineptness, the most powerful seat in our land? I do not think that people that easily swayed would even have the depth to ‘miss’ Stephen Harper.

Dylan Keil ,like Jimbot, is a bedwetter. Dylan was too shy to post here before his fantasy boy got in. He’s a big man now though. Bottom feeders. Taking Canada down.

I advise everyone to just use that scroll button when you come to Jimmy’s posts. They are too cliché to even waste a moment’s thought on.

My children have dual citizenship. Let’s hope Hilary loses. Benjamin, if you think Canada will be in great hands, then I think you have been exposed to too much shock treatment.

Andrew, you think a retard like Justin is going to not run the country aground. God hopes he has advisers – lots of them.

Transparency from the Librano party? Get a clue. The Stop Harper movement worked splendidly, but not for the NDP. I would have preferred Mulcair over a corrupt arrogant Trudeau.

Jimmy Da silva these same Canadians will blame others for this choices consequences as usual. And when the tap runs dry they will whine like pathetic babies.

The world doesn’t give a fuck that you cut your cable and stopped reading newspapers – life still goes on and Canadians made their choice.

Russell Turner – my plans exactly! I may have to pay taxes, to which the CBC currently steals from us, but I don’t have to watch the trashy lies they present as the truth. Nor do I have to pay for a terrorist news channel like al Jezeera.
commented 2015-10-20 16:58:30 -0400
Actually it is worse than Ezra states. The MSM have been one sided and consistently attacking Harper for his whole term. The only solution is, as I did today, namely terminated my TV service. That way, CBC and most of the others will get zero from my pocket. I will further avoid the Canadian newspapers printed and online versions. And, I advise friends of what I am doing and hope they do the same. I decided the MSM is all lies, all bs.

That young boy won and I really feel that most of the CTV and CBC broadcasters looks half frozen at Trudeau’s win! Their smiles looked forced and frozen because we all know that BOY does not have any experience! He has leftest ideas about Muslims and mosques. They are all worried! Their smiles looked forced and frozen! Trudeau has some wild spending idea and who thinks small businesses are created because they want a tax break! Now lets see what that trust fund BOY will do! Trudeau is a wild cannon with his mouth and the Liberal party will be embarrassed and humiliated before long! This is why, like Ezra said, they will never admit it missing Harper. Thoes liberals in Ontario know their Premier has not done anything to get Ontario’s debt down! Lets just see what the senior members of the liberal party will instruct Trudeau to do! The senior members will have to keep him on a leach! It will be very entertaining to see how Mr. Trudeau responds to all the First Nations whimes! See if he can even do 1/4 of what he said HE would do! I really feel he will allow some Sharia Law to come to Canada to appease the Muslim votes! Wait and see!!!! There will be a lot of covered faces in Canada walking the streets.

Well it looks like those who lap up the communist milk, and going to have to pay the dues now. Though they are oblivious to this new set of circumstances, but just wait until the reality hits them upside the head!

Canada is bound and determined to be Greeced. And at the risk of sounding smug and insulated from it all, I must say that I am enjoying the show immensely. It’s really funny how the people who bring on harder times, are those who are the most ill-equipped to handle it.
commented 2015-10-20 15:15:53 -0400
Andrew not a chance . It rook years to repair what Pierre did to Canada. Pulling our troops out of Syria is unbelievable as people die at the hands of ISIS.
Liberals are in denial. Yes conservatives will rise again hopefully at the next election.

Roll out the welcome mat for all those refugees, all those who voted in this boy child. You may even have to give up your job, and your homes, for all the refugees that will be flooding into Canada now, unchecked. You don’t believe, just see what is happening in Germany. This will be Canada, very soon.
