SPECIAL REPORT: Faith Goldy reports from Halifax on the Chronicle-Herald's refugee cover-up

Rebel Staff

The Halifax Chronicle-Herald published a shocking report that newly arrived Syrian “refugees” at Chebucto Heights Elementary School were beating up Canadian students.

Canadian kids were being bullied, even choked by Muslim students, who made throat-slitting gestures. And the school was hiding all of this from the public, even from parents.

Not surprisingly, the news story went viral. But soon the Chronicle-Herald started making changes to their story, taking out key facts. Then they just deleted the story entirely from their website — replacing it with a short note explaining that the subject was too sensitive.

And then The Chronicle-Herald published another alibi, explaining that one of the reasons they took the story down was that “anti-Muslim groups” had been “sharing the article”. So they decided to do what the school had been doing: cover it up. But even as they admitted that a fourth witness had come forward.

What’s really going on in Halifax? Why are journalists hiding the news instead of reporting it? We sent one of our top reporters, Faith Goldy, to Halifax to get the facts directly.

Faith, I hope you will be able to interview these parents. If they are telling the truth, they should not worry about being called racist. That kind of thinking can kill you. Remember the neighbor in San Bernadino who lived next door to the terrorist couple & their bomb lab & who knew something was wrong but said nothing not wanting to offend anyone. Absurd!!!

Glen Craig (intentional no caps on some names, ranks and my country – I am ashamed of them)

Your comment on kids making the best soldiers rings true in many ways.

Anytime someone gets on their high horse about the fabled “child soldier” – such as that cowardly and shameful traitor – the bastard – canadian general dallaire – who allowed the killing of a bunch of Belgian soldiers and blamed all but himself – and Canadian lefty teachers and such……

It seems you have an understanding that most do not….

I tell them that as soon as a male islamic has hair around his balls he is a man in that culture – which is true.

You have no idea how many “child soldiers” have killed canadian and western troops. If those kids carried a firearm they became a target. No pity. They were raised to kill anything that was not islamic. And they are even more cruel and heartless than an adult.

The best soldiers – totally heartless and fearless – you get them or they get you. More than one book has some excellent true stories about them.

Spoiled, entitled and smug (SES) canadians could never imagine this and therefore judge on what they know – and what they know are the bleeding heart “excuse stories” told by dallaire, the media and their ilk and those stories are not the truth.

Child soldiers are a UN and canadian sob story. Nothing more.

Most who talk about the child soldier have never been on the receiving end. I have. If and when they show up at your door you will be impressed at their manner and how efficient they are at killing – totally without mercy. I have also witnessed several of the places they got to before we did. I admit it bothers me to this day. The death of those kids does not bother me in the slightest – probably making me look bad to the SES canadians – who have never seen the results of those kids and their work. But the scenes and the victims – that does bother me.

I am so tired of it.

CORCAN – I like it – they should all be placed in a site in the very the high arctic – above Resolute Bay – no guards required – you could never walk out.

I agree Fraser they should, but they won’t. That’s part of the problem I think. It was removed because the socialists felt “it excluded certain groups” and “certain groups found it offensive”. Soon being Canadian will be offensive, at least it seems that is where this is headed.

Muslims should be sent to separate schools, away from Human Kids. They should be educated by western teachers, preferably ex military Drill Sergeants, with hearts of leather and boots of steel.

Fraser McBurney commented
“Do children still sing God Save Our Gracious Queen and sing Oh Canada and say The LORDS PRAYOR at the beginning of the school day or am I living in the past.”

Living in the past I am afraid. Nowadays they simply start the classes nothing more.

Seems like the apologists are out in full force to do damage control, here and other sites online. Wherever a Socialist (Liberal, NDP, Democrat, Democratic Union, etc.) is in charge, no matter what level of government, should the truth even partially leak out the old standard procedures are dusted off and employed. Same each time – first retract the news, then deny deflect, then if they feel more is needed they go on the attack to discredit the messengers. Its the same old song and dance – Rule #1 To control any situation you must first control the media, all politicians know this rule.

Do the other boys not come to the defence of their school mates. If I where to hit a girl back in the old days I would have gotten the strap.

@ndp ROCKS

? I responded to you yesterday (perhaps early this morning).

Low credibility? Based on what, the fact that I operate on facts and not rhetoric? Is that too hard for you to grasp?

Questionable Impact
I am still waiting for your reaction from yesterday. Your already low credibility is taking a hit and your run. What’s wrong with you lad?

@bz…..I remember back in the 1970’s I worked in a photographic studio and lab where there were employees from all over the world. One was a very articulate Lebanese Christian. I was surprised to find out that he had been a member of the Dimorz Phalange and had participated in some of their most notorious retaliatory actions. He said that the Palestinians were not refugees…they were a routed army looking for a place to regroup….he told me of the atrocities they had committed against their Christian hosts….he got worked up telling it…in a rage uncharacteristic of him he said “THEY THOUGHT WE WERE NOTHING BUT A BUNCH OF FAGS….WE SHOWED THEM

So I know what you are saying.

I worked for five years gathering material for a book on boy soldiers…I was going to call it “the Children’s Crusade” …a very little thing persuaded me to abandon the project…..that scene in Mel Gibson’s movie “the Patriot” where he recruits his own sons to rescue his oldest. I had a paradigm shift in how I looked at it.

My original reason for writing the book was what the Kymer Rouge did to the Buddhists in Cambodia….boys nine to twelve years old make the best soldiers.

But because I am buddhist I believe in redemption…enlightenment can blossom in anyone …on their next breath.

Those kids aren’t in Damascus right now…they might not all be redeemable…but those that are not will find long term employment at “CORCAN”…..making office furniture for the Liberal bureaucracy….no martyr’s death…no 72 virgins….workmates who will have no patience for their militance…and who may be inclined to teach them that love is a many splendored thing. They should be warned of the consequences of the error of their ways.

To be be fair, we don’t know the truth yet… But that’s getting more distorted as the weeks/months go by. Does the rebel have an agenda? Of course! But what’s wrong with that? Everyone does. Part of me wonders is some of the s j w ‘s that post on the rebel are in fact Ezra or someone else testing the waters to determine the intellectual capabilities of the site’s readers.

Keep digging, Faith. Parents and Canadians care. Again I ask … politics and religion aside … Isn’t this attempted murder? Any 9 year old that makes a death threat should be psychologically evaluated. Maybe call children’s aid / intervention. At the very least the parents of these little biological weapons should be investigated. But this won’t happen, will it? Social workers need to eat too I guess.

@bravo Zulu

So you consider the truth and asking for better being a troll? I am asking for journalistic integrity, we didn’t get it from the Chronicle-Herald, and we are not getting it from the Rebel. What ever happened to fact checking? Why are there stories being posted that don’t give us any facts, just trying to allude to something?

Yes, I enjoy the conversation. The one good thing about the Rebel is they have a fairly open conversation. The other side however it is very limited in scope. I don’t mind being called all the numerous labels I have been here, that only reflects on those making them.

Getting back to the REAL story, what about journalistic integrity? Why is the Rebel not exploring that avenue? Why are they not asking the relevant questions about why non-collaborated allegations from anonymous sources made it into the mainstream media? Why are they not asking why there was no writers byline on the original article? Why are they not exploring the impact of having temporary management staff from other departments (e.g. advertising) sub in for editors?

There have been a half dozen articles in the Rebel on this topic, yet not a single bit of real information gathered by them? Please, dig for a story, but give us the real story and not baseless implications.

Questionable Impact wants the Rebel to provide real information that his beloved media will not.

The irony is palpable.

Is anyone surprised at this. Canadian adults need to grow up. Did you think all those pictures of Muslim refugees sliding down a hill on toboggans in the winter is the real story. There will be more to come. Trudeau I believe has told Newspaper, CTV and CBC not to print anything bad about Muslims. He is the perpetrator of of stifling the news. He would not want to look bad would he. What he has and is still doing in regards to bringing in new refugees everyday into Canada will forever change Canada and our values. These women have from 5 to 8 children and sometimes more. While Trudeau sits in his comfy home with his throne on his head, he will sit by the side lines while Muslim refugees come out of their shell and create havoc. I found out he has been bringing refugees from Palestine into Canada. This is where suicide bombers originated. This is also where they are taught to hate anyone at a very young age who
is not a Muslim.
So all you wonderful fuzzy warm Canadians can blame yourselves if things get out of hand along with Trudeau and the Minister of Immigration.
Too late to cry after he brings about 100,000 new refugees into Canada.

Glen – those kids are taught at home that what they are doing is quite acceptable behaviour. I saw it on a regular basis in Syria when the Christians came into Damascus.

The islamics are taught that they can do anything to a Christian – after all they are vermin and need to be treated as such.

In fact it happens in all islamic countries that Christians are still alive and inhabiting.

Those countries are beginning to be few and far between as the Christians are killed and harassed into leaving.

In fact Palestinian television actually has kids programs that teach the little slimy islamics to hunt down and kill Christians and Jews.

Try doing that in reverse here in Canada.

Bring the islamic slime into Canada and you have to deal with it.

Truth? Well, no one wants to here it.

Instead Canadians make excuses for them and their bad behaviour.

All you have to do is look at Europe to see what is coming.

@questionable Impact….Besides the obstructive nature of censorship in the name of political correstness there is that age old Canadian political tradition that if you ignore a problem long enough it will just go away.

No good is served by not bringing this into the light of day. If the law requires parents to send their children to public school those parents have a reasonable expectation of the security of their children.

One of the principles of the law is “balance of inconvenience”….where there are two conflicting claims of due or entitlement we rule in the favour of the party that suffers the greatest inconvenience. On Mazlo’s hierarchy of needs…..physical security comes first….that is the basis of claim of the parents who brought their kids here as refugees. I can well imagine why kids brought up in Syria today would be tough. But there is no warriorship to be proud of in bullying those weaker than you….that transcends all racial and cultural boundries. There is nothing I can think of that would serve as a more correcting influence in this than the collective scorn and disapproval of this behaviour by the community that received them and gave them hospitality.

Keep turning over rocks Faith.

It is common for those who have run into trouble to be worried about telling the truth.

They are often attacked for this.

To complain loudly will probably land them in kangaroo human rights (a joke) court – at their expense.

As for questionable impact – anther troll? Really? I love it – they bring extra traffic AND additional money to the site while adding nothing but their traffic count and the financial support they create by drawing others into the conversation. Cannot help but be glad they are helping make this site grow.

Thanks for the update. I look forward to your show on Thursday when you address this issue again. Keep “hunting” down the truth, Goldy. It is an elusive thing to find. It can disappear like quicksilver!

The Rebel sent one of their top reporters to get the facts, and she came back with more anonymous allegations. At least the Chronicle-Herald recognized that their reporting was substandard, and retracted the original story (based on anonymous allegations, no write byline, and most likely originally accepted by temporary editor from the advertising department taking over during a strike). When is the Rebel going to provide real information?
