“Trudeaupian tyranny”: Ahead of convention, these Conservative MPs are stifling free speech on ONE issue

Faith GoldyArchive

Why are interim leader Rona Ambrose and MP Michelle Rempel scuttling the policy process -- and limiting free speech -- in the run up to the Conservative Convention this month?

I tell you why the federal party is in trouble because two MPs are pushing their weight around on a file outside both of their jurisdictions.

Plus, with wildfires ravaging the west, would you be prepared to leave your home on a moment's notice? Kory Teneycke joins me with a checklist of what you need to ensure your family is cared for in an emergency situation.

Then, we've got your week's top headlines and “Quote of Honour.”

Sorry Peter….on this one I disagree. I refuse to hold my nose and vote for a Party that stifles the grass roots, especially on the issue of abortion, just to defeat the Liberals. I’ll spoil my ballot instead until something comes along I can live with.

As a woman I have learned that the Nazis slaughtered millions of innocent people. The Democrats slaughter a million innocent people a year across North America and now they are even selling the baby parts. An unborn child’s heartbeat can be detected at about 8 weeks. When you are declared dead, it is when your heart stops beating as anyone can attest who has had to put down a pet. Abortion is murder and stops a beating heart. By aborting a nation’s babies, they are aborting their future.

If I might ask those of you Conservatives that do not support the federal CPC because they do support policies that are more socially conservative such as abortion, who do you support?

Who else is there to support federally, the Liberals, the NDP?

Sure, okay, I hate the idea that the federal CPC does not want to open the abortion issue. I despise to the deepest part of by being abortion, but reality is reality, if you want to get the Liberals out of office you have to support a party that has a chance of doing that.

As a man, I have learned that I am shut down from debating abortion, because I am a man. At this time, the entire discussion is held by women only. At the party level there are many men, who would be shut down from debating the subject or at least ignored when they do open their mouths. The idea of having a full debate on the subject is completely impossible due to emotions and ignoring what men think.

Yes Faith. Canada is one of two countries in the the world which it is legal to do an abortion at ANY TIME DURING A PREGNANCY RIGHT UP TO THE DAY OF BIRTH. The other country North Korea! The morals of Canadians are slowly slipping deeper into the gutter. But if one takes evolution to its logical conclusion there is no such thing as morality or right or wrong

“Why are interim leader Rona Ambrose and MP Michelle Rempel scuttling the policy process — and limiting free speech — in the run up to the Conservative Convention this month?”

Because it’s a controlled, stage managed event run by party brass for party brass to produce the outcomes party insiders want – membership votes are just a rubber stamp on limited options presented by the executive. – just as the policy conventions were – just like the cynical Liberals do.

I went through this and it’s a reason I no longer support the party – it lost it’s grass roots populist democratic verve when it rejected the western reform faction and kept them out of the officer positions. Recently I have been nosing around my local CPC EDA finding out about the delegate system with the hope of getting back into the system with a lot of lapsed reformers. So far my suspicions of a stage-managed nomination system have been confirmed – voting is limited and restricted to party yes-men.

The party is doomed if it does not open up its nomination and policy processes to the entire membership.

Does anyone need anymore proof that Ambrose and Rempel are just another pair of CINOs working to make JT look good?

There’s no doubt they will be rewarded soon.

Andrew~controlling a woman’s choice is Socialism.
A woman has a choice to terminate a pregnancy but those who choose to have children do not have the freedom to raise them without interference from the government. What do you call that? I think Canada could use a good dose of Donald Trump.

Faith, thank you for bringing up the abortion issue. I do think you and other pro life “Conservative” members are banging your heads against a wall. The PC party had 10 years …

There is no national PC party – it’s the CPC – progressive conservative is synonymous to the socialist conservative party.

Progressives are left and have nothing to do with conservatives. The provincial PCs should change their names to CPC.

As for abortion, if government limits it, abortion returns to the back alleys and women dies – this is why Roe-Wade occurred. All parties know this.

Controlling a women’s choice is socialism – conservatives need to cut this crap out. It is a losing battle. It rips control from a woman and hands it to the state – get out of a woman’s bedroom – for good.

Faith, thank you for bringing up the abortion issue. I do think you and other pro life “Conservative” members are banging your heads against a wall. The PC party had 10 years of rule but, to my knowledge, didn’t lift a finger to save a single baby. The PCs did, however , through PC MP Steven Fletcher, start the euthanasia ball rolling. The Christian Heritage Party of Canada doesn’t need a debate. It’s our policy to protect life from conception to natural death. Please check us and our other policies out at CHP.CA. All the best and keep up the good work !

Faith, like most party members, I get several calls each week to support the party with monetary a donation. I have resisted for a while now because I’m waiting to see a new direction in the party. Unfortunately, like in the States, poetics in Canada is run by a non elected elite which has far too much influenced. It will take a strong leader to get the party out of its progressive direction and back to a more conservative one.

Good to see Kory again; bad to see the Conservative establishment hasn’t learned a thing.

Great show: federal liberal government shuts down debate on mercy killing and Rempel and Ambrose shut down debate on abortion. The problem is that the Supreme Court of Canada in Carter 2015 on mercy killing wrote that “Parliament has power to legislate with respect to federal matters, notable criminal law, that touch on health…” In other words the SCC is expecting full debate by legislators in Parliament as part of the democratic process.

Thanks for those information tidbits, we want conservatives to not be liberals
I don’t even think the msmers would have revealed your facts
We need a strong confident leader , maybe from out side the party
