Fake news? CBC fails to fact-check NDP Environment Minister on carbon tax claim

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Commentator

Environment Minister Shannon Phillips went on CBC this week to defend her wildly unpopular carbon tax and she couldn’t keep her facts straight

If Phillips were a conservative, you know the CBC would have fact checked her in real time.

They didn’t. But I did.

Watch my video to see the crazy claim Phillips made about Washington State.

But CBC just let Phillips carry on, on national TV making it up as she went.

Unchecked. Unbalanced. Talk about fake news!

Did CBC even try to tell the other side of the story about the carbon tax?

It was the media elite sticking up for the NDP elite and you’re paying for all of it.

The CBC is done, the liberals are done, all that is left will be swinging in the wind soon enough, people are awake now and pretty pissed off at the traitors, good old fashioned justice must be meted out so that peace can take root again in our Countries.

CBC is spreading fake news, simply communist propaganda. Rachel Notley and Justin Trudeau supports a carbon tax. The CBC will back anything coming from NDP or Liberals. CBC is banned in my home. I do not want Trudeau or Notley propaganda. CBC= Communist Broadcasters of Canada !!!

I expect nothing from the CBC. I don’t even watch it. They have lost all credibility for me.

The entire cabinet in Alberta are just as incompetent as the Enviro Minister.
Just look at those NDP “Mutts” . . . no intellect in sight anywhere.
And what can you say about the CBC . . . Canada’s Pravda Propaganda Ministry !

If there is no difference between a levy and a tax, except for how it is imposed, then why the …. are there two methods of imposing them?
Whoever takes over for any of our premiers or pm will continue to do the same.
What is needed is someone to STOP this bureaucratic crap and make changes so this kind of deception cannot take place again.
Change the laws, change the bureaucratic system so people benefit.
Can it be done? We need some D. Trump styles up here in the north (not O’Leary) to change these public servant mentality rules.

Peter, the carbon ‘levy’ is a provincial sales tax in all but name…provincial law says that any attempt to impose one requires a referendum…which is why they call it a ‘levy’…

If the CBC fact checked they would have nothing to say.

Kelvin are you as shocked as i am? Why the hell would they start now?
commented 2017-01-04 22:05:57 -0500
In any case, Geil, I am unaware of any legislation that would require Rachel Notley to call a referendum to imposes any tax she wants.

tax. levy. A difference that makes no difference is no difference.
commented 2017-01-04 20:56:36 -0500
it’s not a tax…it’s a levy…a tax would have to go to a provincial referendum…which rachel would lose,,,my wife’s place of work had to alter their announcement on the ‘tax’,,,to a carbon levy…i see they have been vilified elsewhere for being political in their announcement…better to be hung as a wolf than a sheep,,,

You could slip four pics of C.B.C. air heads in with these three and have the group of seven.

Can’t resist.

Well…at least Ms. Philips is not hiding under her desk trying to be invisible like the invisible minister of energy, who is also the invisible MLA for the riding of Dunvegan-Central Peace-Notley. Got to give her credit for that.

Remember, 2017 is the municipal election year. Get involved. 2017 can provide support for the Loyal Opposition in the Leg, and a dry run for 2019 (or 2020, the constitutional mandate, which I still bet upon…look at Obama stretching his destruction)

NDP, CBC, what is the difference, both of them are Marxist Puppets. All they want, is to drag Canadians down to their level, in the Gutter.

Say it ain’t so!

the carbon tax screws Albertans, but now CBC defending the NDP with our tax money, priceless.
