After 12 seasons, it appears the Canadian Women’s Hockey League will be be shutting down for good next month. But one wonders, is a female hockey league too big – or rather, too politically-correct – to fail?
I can’t shake the feeling that the Justin Trudeau Liberals will look upon the demise of the CWHL as a political opportunity, especially at a time when the ladies are losing faith in his commitment to feminism.
What better distraction from his lady troubles than Justin donning his Supergirl cape to come to the rescue of a female hockey league facing insolvency?
And, so what if the marketplace has spoken?
Justin will just tear-up about the CWHL and apologize for the sexism of OTHERS who have declined to buy tickets to see the games, even if there’s no critical mass of fans who are gung-ho about watching women’s pro hockey.
