WATCH: Why feminists kicked me out of a Slut Walk in Los Angeles

Lauren SouthernArchive

This weekend, Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos and I were thrown out of the Amber Rose Slut Walk in Los Angeles by the LAPD.

Despite the Left’s professed hatred for the bigoted, patriarchal, racist police, they had no problem using them to eject a woman and a gay man who disagreed with their kooky theories about how women are an oppressed class in America.

It was a perfect display of the kind of censorship encouraged by modern feminism.

Security was called after I asked actress and model Amber Rose if she believed in rape culture. Upon hearing a question that was not in line with the Slut Walk’s official narrative, organizers went into panic mode.

Eventually, the police came to handle this horrifying case of wrongthink. They claimed we weren’t allowed to film or record the event, despite us being surrounded by self-proclaimed “sluts” filming and taking photographs, who were allowed to continue undisturbed. We clearly garnered the organizers’ attention merely for asking the wrong questions.

The Slut Walk had good reasons to avoid tough questions. With the horrendous turn-out -- the organisers predicted thousands; less than 300 showed up -- lack of clothes, and men who had shown up to “only see tits” (their words) it only took a small amount of objectivity to see the flaws of the event.

The organisers grasped at any excuse to stop our coverage. When Yiannopoulos asked to record the event with his phone, as many other attendees were doing, the flustered organizer first agreed, then disagreed, then told us the police were on the way and that we were about to be arrested.

The organizer and security had no interest in working out a solution where we could stay and participate. They simply wanted us out of there.

Some of the attendees were just as intolerant as the organizers. After just one interview, I attracted a shadow: an angry activist from the pro-abortion group Planned Parenthood, who would interrupt me mid-interview to warn participants that I was asking “inappropriate” and “wrong” questions. As it happens, I’m undecided on the abortion debate, but he still found my questions threatening enough to chase me around the event and butt into interviews.

As we waited for the police to arrive, Yiannopoulos and I decided to test the tolerance of attendees by challenging their opinions. We stood in the square holding two protest signs, both of which quickly enraged the Slut Walkers. Yiannopoulos’ sign, which read “Rape Culture and Harry Potter… Both Fantasy,” was snatched and ripped up by an attendee. My sign, which read “Regret is not Rape” also came under attack, but we managed to salvage it after a game of tug-of-war with the same activist.

I suspect the organisers would have cooked up a spurious excuse to eject us regardless of whether we were filming. From the organisers to the attendees, it was clear that the Slut Walkers were furious about our attendance. No-one was interested in hearing the other side despite us being entirely peaceful and reasonable. Like zealots throughout history, they believe their opinions are cardinal truths that are not up for debate.

Ironically, the voices they decided to silence were those of a woman and a gay man. Despite the authoritarian Left’s determination to use the female and gay identities as a battering ram against their opponents, it’s clear that they have no interest in the increasing number of women and minorities who don’t buy into their narratives.

The organiser who called the cops on us wore a shirt bearing the slogan “Vote For Women” but I suspect she only meant women who agree with her. I’m running as a candidate in this month’s Parliamentary elections. Would she ever vote for me? Somehow, I doubt it.

Feminism is not an inclusive movement. Your options are assimilate or be censored. After my first Vancouver Slut Walk, many believed I had simply happened across a few radicals, but their zealotry is being replicated all over the western world.

Amber Rose’s was the third Slut Walk I’ve covered, and the “sluts” continue to display the same intolerance for others’ opinions as they did in Vancouver. Although we may laugh, these are not a few radicals, and this is not a dead horse. Feminism is being pushed and supported from all angles, commercially and politically. Even the police are on the side of feminist censorship.

Yet ordinary people simply don’t agree that there is a vast male conspiracy out there thwarting and harming women at every turn.

Not even women are buying it: fewer than one in five women in America identifies as a feminist. Can you blame the other four fifths?

Terry says; Lauren wasn’t there to engage. She was there to mock (which she did, without much wit), then, when she’d shot what she needed, to enrage and get herself faux martyred.

The reality is of course, that they made her a martyr whether she “wanted” them to or not. They could’ve acted civilly, and simply debated with her, but they didn’t. All violent protests in our society are by Lefty’s. ALL OF THEM!! Because they’re the violent stupid half of society. Or I should say, psychotic half. To mock? The Left are the kings of Ridicule Terry. You and Jimmy do it on here constantly. Hey – how come you have a double standard? Is it because Lefty’s are psychotic and Righty’s are not? Is THAT why you expect more of Lauren than the protesters? You and Jimmy come here to disrupt – every day. But if Lauren does it – that’s “wrong”??? How come you have a double standard? Is it because you’re psychotic?

Jay. I suggest Lauren was there to expose them as the violent / stupid half of society. That they’d be unable to give cohesive answers to open questions, and all she’d have to do is hold up a sign and they’d ATTACK!!! And lastly, that they’re AGAINST Free Speech. She succeeded in all three. And this is important, as too many politicians and judges will take these rednecks serious, and start writing policies and judgements based on “rape culture”. Someone needs to expose them, and she did that, and did it well. All that said, why does she have to explain her presence at all???
commented 2015-10-06 17:29:09 -0400
Jay, to find out what they are “slut walking” about. Curiosity.
commented 2015-10-06 17:22:05 -0400
Peter, a ‘slut-walk’? Why would she want to attend an event like that?
commented 2015-10-06 17:19:48 -0400
Jay Kelly, Lauren’s point in being there is because she wanted to be there. Surely you can grasp that, can’t you?
commented 2015-10-06 17:17:02 -0400
Look at the bright side, We will have a zone free of Jimmy, Terry, Doug and their ilk when theRebel gets its studio set up and a paid area for full length shows … unless those three want to pay for the service, which I doubt. At least there we will not have to put up with those twits.
commented 2015-10-06 17:11:46 -0400
Atikokanconservative, I do not think anyone on here is disagreeing that Lauren Southern has actual oranges there. The question is, what was her point in attending the rally in Los Angeles?
commented 2015-10-06 17:11:33 -0400
“I ain’t a gonna throw a loop over that question because it’s jest a set-up question.”
No surprise there.
commented 2015-10-06 17:10:11 -0400
Sorry, Token. No points for you – well, except from the peanut gallery, I suppose.
Ezra was gutless, and you agree with him. Fair enough, but don’t try to put lipstick on the pig.
And no, Lauren wasn’t there to engage. She was there to mock (which she did, without much wit), then, when she’d shot what she needed, to enrage and get herself faux martyred. Because Obama? Really, my friend, you have to stop playing to the cheap seats here. Or not – your choice.
commented 2015-10-06 16:32:11 -0400
Jimmy and Terry think that because Lauren knew how they’d react that somehow, that makes HER in the wrong. Never mind the shamefulness of attack on free speech, the near-violence of the attendees, their inability to answer questions. No no, these things are irrelevant. And of course, we all knew how these two would react to this video, so that’s likely why they think we’re wrong too lol. So let me get this straight. If you know how someone will react, it makes YOU wrong? LOL!! And Jimmy says he likes professionalism. Oh, you mean like “leaving out half the facts” like the MSM does every day? LOL!! A person has to have psychiatric problems to come into the public sphere and say the things they say with a straight face. Seriously!!

Well, I’d just like to thank Jimmy and Terry for displaying the psychiatric problems of the Left for the world to see.
As we all know, the Left use a different part of the brain than the rest of us, and Jimmy and Terry are here to demonstrate this for us every day. Thanks Guys!!

TERRY RUDDEN;
You say:
“Well, you’re welcome to tackle the question, Daniel. Do you believe that public political events should be open to deliberate disruption, or don’t you?”

My namesake was a famous prophet Terry, I’m just an old cow hand…and I ain’t a gonna throw a loop over that question because it’s jest a set-up question, you’re comparin’ heifers and steers (apples and oranges). Besides, I’ve said often enough that I stand with Voltaire on Free Speech – and I’m armed…
Propriety and manners has it’s place, as does civil disobedience – I’m a Thoreau fan – and the proud owner of a Confederate War Flag…
Terry you’re a hair splittin’ Philidelphia lawyer and a real pain in the ass sometimes because you’re a lefty/liberal hair splittin’ Philidelphia lawyer and pain in the ass.
I don’t know if you are merely playing the devil’s advocate with sophistry or something, or are in fact a nasty little troll, because the other trolls are easily dismissed by their own words…so – respectfully – just what the hell is it you are trying to do?
Oh. and I freely admit I get a vicarious pleasure watching the fetching and presentable Ms. Southern ‘disrupt’ this particular herd of cows with a smack upside the head of these delusional narcissists with fact, logic, reason, common sense and moral absolutes. Is that biased? Absolutely!
Who were the one’s jumpin’ up and down screechin’ like a bunch o’ smelly apes?
commented 2015-10-06 15:40:50 -0400
Token,

I agree with him, because his comments are logical and factual. Even if I was a conservative, I wouldn’t respect Lauren’s Paparazzi-like methods to get internet traffic. Sorry, but I respect professionalism.
commented 2015-10-06 15:29:52 -0400
Jimmy: “I completely agree with Terry”. Well, duh. I’ll try: Terry, until they held up the sign they were just asking questions, and filming it for theRebel. Not being disruptive, but they still had their own personal troll running interference. Then they held up their signs. Oh, the horror! They are EXACTLY like that socialist punk you mentioned Alheli Picazo who Ezra kicked out of his town hall meeting.
Except, they aren’t. Picazo doesn’t have a reputation for holding up signs and asking awkward questions of people going to meetings. Picazo has a reputation for causing legal troubles for those she doesn’t agree with politically. Southern doesn’t. If Southern gets treated in a certain way, she shows it on her video and talks about it. If Picazo gets treated the same way, it’s a lawsuit. I have no problem with Ezra kicking her out, it’s like getting that mole removed before it turns into something really nasty. Southern’s threat is one of alternative viewpoints, only.
Ezra did what he did out of self preservation, the Slutwalk people did what they did out of fear of being shown up. Notice how Picazo talks about how the police didn’t actually throw her out, she left of her own accord because she wasn’t actually doing anything wrong? Now notice how the police at the Slutwalk didn’t care if Southern wasn’t doing anything wrong, she’s just got to go because, well, because Obama?
Ezra’s meetings were about a specific political point, and her attempts at attending one was her trying to get more fodder in her attacks on Ezra, and only for that purpose. She doesn’t really care that much about provincial politics, as far as I can tell from her scribbles she’s more concerned about municipal politics. No, she wasn’t there for political discussion, she was there to get dirt on her stated enemy. If I was that guy, I’d kick her out too. Now, Lauren, she was there to offer a counterpoint to the points the Slutwalk people are making. That’s it. Not to dig up dirt on anyone in particular, and not to start a fight, legal or otherwise, with anyone. Lauren’s looking for comedy, Picazo’s looking for torts. The biggest fear anyone who disagrees with Lauren is that she’ll laugh at you. Not so with the other one.
Those are actual differences, please don’t waste your efforts to show how those oranges are actually apples. I hope that clears things up for you a little bit.

It is a little bit like showing up at a party with 24 Budweiser Light cans and then proceeding to drink the host’s Alexander Keiths.
commented 2015-10-06 15:16:35 -0400
It is amazing how the people in this gathering look similar to the people in an environmentalist gathering. They all look like societies fungus. You know, the type that supports Dizzy Lizzy. Didn’t she just get an award for the hardest drinking politician ever?
commented 2015-10-06 15:04:55 -0400
Charleton, I think Rudden as a poster meant “don’t feed them rolls”. What you “bring to the party” should include at least cheese or veggies, not just 2 dozen rolls from Costco.
commented 2015-10-06 14:52:57 -0400
Gee Jimmy, Rudden and all trolls come here to attack each and every Rebel feature. Funny what exactly does that. Bring to the party?

Rudden as a poster said “don’t feed the trolls”

Rudden I don’t waste effort on trolls like you and Da moron! Typical moron BS from you lefties.

It is not clear to me what Lauren Southern was doing at the Los Angeles event. Was she protesting it on behalf of Rebel.media? It seems a long way to go to protest a mediocre outdoor rally. I do not even know who “Amber Rose” is, and she seemed rather indifferent to Ms. Southern’s presence.
Also, why is Yiannopoulos identified as “gay” and none of the other participants are identified by their sexuality? Is it because he was a male at a mainly female event? The point of the piece is lost on me.

Linda,

Yes, because it’s a woman’s fault that a man can’t control his own fucking brain – because she happens to dress sexy. I see women all the time that dress sexy – the thought of raping them doesn’t enter into my head.

This is also a fallacy, since countless ugly women that dress conservative and frumpy have also been raped. It isn’t about the clothes you are wearing or how sexy you look – just having a hole between your legs is good enough.

In her post, Lauren says: “I suspect the organisers would have cooked up a spurious excuse to eject us regardless of whether we were filming.”
Well, actually, Lauren, you actually shot multiple interviews, a standup intro, continuity, and a wide range of location shots, apparently without harassment, filming the entire time.
Then you explicitly declared: "“I do think we shall incite some rage with our posters, for sure”. And proceeded to do so. And giggled while you did.
So – enough with the faux “martyrdom”, ok? It was cute the first time – obvious, but cute. Now it’s getting a little tired. (Except for the exceptionally or willfully gullible, of course.)

Guy,

In addition, if Lauren was simply honest as I said – I would really have no reason to complain and I would respect her for having the balls so to speak to say yep, I am here to fuck with these Slut Walk bitches for ratings/traffic, because that is her goal here.

I completely agree with Terry.

I would respect Lauren much more if she just came out and said – “watch me fuck with these Slut Walk bitches” instead of pretending that she is working for 60 Minutes and trying to cover the real story.

Lauren has an ulterior motive that has more in common with TMZ and Paparazzi over real reporting and journalism.
