Richmond Hill banned O Canada. We're fighting back.

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

On May 11th, Richmond Hill’s town council voted 5 to 4 against singing "O Canada" to start council meetings. You won't believe some of the weird excuses they've given.

Ezra Levant thinks this decision is crazy.

The Supreme court and their boot licking lawyers in this country conveniently ignore that the prayer issue also was an issue of freedom of speech.

As Paul Schratz pointed out a comment made by Ezra, does this mean the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms is against to itself? It has the word “God” in it.

This whole movement (for lack of a better word) to remove any trace of God from our culture by the left just enhances my opposition to the left. That is an intentional disintegration of our heritage.

If you remove the foundation of a society, that society will fall.

We don’t know for sure but the controversy over the anthem must be the reference to God. The Lord’s Prayer is out as the esteemed justices find that as being against the constitution. So it makes sense the legal people advising the Mayor and his counterparts would take the view that the anthem has a word in the lyrics that is unconstitutional. It matters not what the Fathers of Confederation wanted as they are yesterdays men. At least that is what the court is telling us. Perhaps the only real way to know what to do is to have a Referendum. Ezra keeps talking about Canadian values. Perhaps are most important value is TOLERANCE. We don’t want to offend anyone but if we have to offend it should be the religious Jews and Christians.

The lefties would have no problem singing “Aegukka” or “San Min Chu-i”. But the national anthem of Canada, well to the left, it’s like sunlight to a vampire!

Pretty soon, the only song that will be acceptable to the lib-left politically-correct loonies will be “O Canuckistan”.

My wife received her Canadian citizenship this week and the most touching moment came when everyone sang the national anthem especially the words “God Keep Our Land”. Taking “God” out of the anthem would be a grave error. I remember Ronald Reagan said that if his country stopped being a country under God they would be gone under.

There was once an old saying,“You only get what you voted for”. In this case Idiots.

Ezra asks an interesting question…can Canada’s Charter of Rights be against the Charter of Rights because it has the word God in it?
