Fire Nenshi! “Dysfunctional” City Council can't focus on Calgary's tax crisis

Keean BexteRebel Contributor

“I think it's important for Calgarians to know the incredible lack of leadership that's been displayed,” William McBeath of Save Calgary told me while I was out in downtown Calgary, collecting signatures calling for Mayor Naheed Nenshi's resignation.

Join the thousands who have already signed at FireNenshi.com!

Mayor Nenshi has been focused on an Olympic bid where millions of dollars were spent without a moment's thought about where the money was coming from. Taxes have gone up for everyone, not just small business owners, but small business owners certainly have been hit the hardest.

Virtually overnight their tax bills increased by 45 per cent in some cases, most seeming quite arbitrary. Calgarians are at a breaking point.

When I asked Mayor Nenshi earlier this week if he planned to resign, he responded that that was “a ridiculous question.” I don't agree, and I think most Calgarians also believe that it's time for new leadership in this city.

What a clueless twat Nenshi is! Even though I’m more than 300KM north, I’ll sign just to help Calgarians. No city should be victimized by such a dispicable jerk. What a pompous ass!

We really need to pay more attention to Mayoral and all municipal elections, including school board elections or we end up with Smurf in Calgary, Moonbeam in Van, SJW full on cultural marxist in Victoria, Tranny Tory in Toronto, Menopausal sell out Crombie in Mississauga…… who did I miss there are so many who just SUCK.

Time for big taxes, big spender Nenshi to roll on down the road, before he is chased out by the ticked off people of Calgary.

Arrogant? You are being much to polite Keean. I’m thinking more a long the lines of pompous jack ass! And that look of absolute contempt, from the world’s most popular mayor, when he looks at anyone who disagrees with him, or questions him, is jaw dropping.

They are dismantling everything that should be encouraged in this country.
Ya got that right LIZA!
Nenshi is committing his acts of treason through Alinsky Rules and Cloward/Piven strategies – in camera!
‘They’ have to turn our once beautiful, sovereign nation into rubble before they can erect ‘their’ NWO Globalism…they all seem to be in on it these days.
Look at how successful Notley was in dismantling and destroying Alberta.
Look at the damage already done by Jihadi-Justin-Groper – even with his missing Butts. Not just structural financial damage but psychic damage to the people!
Is Jason Kenney another Globalist?
It’s been a long time in the planning – think Fabian Society MO – Penetration and Permeation…look at the Conservative leadership convention that ‘manipulated’ Smilin’ Andy into the ‘leadership’ spot, and all those shenanigans and BS…never mind the whipped Paris Agreement and what’s followed!
We’re broken and it’s hopeless now (inadequate internet synonyms for ’we’re fucked’) because we’re being force-marched down that road to the end of Canada, daily…and nothing is being done about it – except for maybe closing down our means of dissent and protest, and our means and ability to defend ourselves and our rights!

Calgarians put him in for a third term along with a supportive council last October in an election. There are consequences to a democratic decision, so no sympathy. Particularly when it was the second time they did not learn from their first mistake. At least Alberta as a whole learned from the 2015 mistake and did not repeat.

Barney got his arse handed to him in the Olympic plebiscite and he’s never, ever going to forgive us for it. How dare we F350 driving Neanderthal hillbillies disagree with His Excellency, The Smartest Guy In The Room?
I completely expect this massive, quivering, arrogant, bloviating tub of goo to show up on a federal election ballot as a Liberal candidate some day and let’s hope we don’t ‘conveniently’ run out of ballots again.

We also have a tax crisis and spending problem in Toronto. Property taxes for commercial and residential are way to high, and they charge extra for garbage pickup, water rates are criminal, they allow the gas companies to charge a flat fee whether you use it or not, $20 for res. $70 for com. plus HST on top of the bill. I’m paying $62,000 a year for 2000 sq. ft. of retail space. Stores are closing down, can’t afford the taxes. The beauty and charm of the mom and pop shop is disappearing.
The malls did it first, I hear Vancouver has done it as well. It might just be to late to stop this madness in Toronto but businesses must be heard. We demand city hall lower are property taxes or the mayor and council be fired and removed from office.
I feel for you Calgary.

Might I hazard a guess that since Calgarians rejected the Winter Olympics “they just couldn’t afford”; Stout Nenshi is indeed vulnerable to being bounced out the door and down the steps?….
