In first UN speech, Trudeau delivers “Pinterest platitudes” to almost empty hall

Brian LilleyArchive

Yesterday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau delivered his first speech to the UN. How did it go? Well, the Liberals used to make fun of the sparse attendance at Harper's UN addresses, but it looks like Trudeau wasn't able to attract a much bigger audience.

What about substance?

Well, the speech sounded like it had been written by a bored staffer who grabbed some inspirational platitudes from Pinterest.

And of course, it was all delivered by Trudeau in his best patronizing "I'm telling you a story, boys and girls" voice.

He didn't much look like a great statesman on the world stage.

I am not surprised Justin would not draw a crowd.
He is a yes man to terrorist & dictatorial countries. The leaders of those countries do not respect him.

He is an embarrassment to Canada!

Rehashed spuds? I have heard parts of this speech before. Come on, Rebel, find out where he said similar things before. I think it might have been at the EU.

Is it just me or did Baby Doc read his speech with exactly the same tone and dramatic pauses as when he read Papa Doc’s eulogy? Must be all those years teaching drama part-time to high schoolers. Or was that elementary students.

But there is one difference: Baby Doc’s lisp is getting worse.

What an embarrassing fool and half-wit we have for our PM. All he really said was that we are suckers, we will bend over and take it, and our wallets are open to the world.

“He didn’t much look like a great statesman on the world stage.”

Well Brian I liked that statement I just quoted from your story.

After all he is nothing but a failed drama teacher.

The fag boy at the UN

Low info Canuckleheads will love it

I don’t know why you are disappointed in our little potato head, after all, he is living up to what we expected of him, nothing.

So True. Couldn’t have said it better.

The EMPTY ROOM…..that is what I noticed. Funny the CBC never noticed.

Guess it beats “Back in the USSR”.

Who writes for this guy?
You guys think the members of the audience look bored. They’ve only heard the same speech a couple of times, maybe once. But Canadians, we’ve heard the same thing over and over and over. Justin needs to diversify his speech writers.

A typical, smug, sanctimonious liberal Canadian. No wonder the world has contempt for us.

Michael Martin, you put your finger on the issue. This brainless tumour is the master of Orwellian Newspeak. Black is white, up is down, diversity is unity, death cult is enlightenment.

Bang on Michael. Liberal Canada is back, buckle up and hide your wallet because the ride is just starting. It will be far worse than in his daddy’s time.

Junior bad mouths Harper and/or blames him for everything under the sun every opportunity he can. Statesman? Hardly!! Whoever originally stated that must have meant it as a joke. Junior is an idiot plain and simple, an embarrassment.

This child is so naive he thinks his hollow rhetoric will result in any substantial change in the world. If the MSM would report accurately on his statements his bubble would burst and we could see exactly what’s in his head; confetti.
commented 2016-09-21 14:24:40 -0400
The ones who did show up likely had ear plugs in, so that they could get through his BS. They were more than likely paid to attend. Listening to Junior is likely listening to someone scratch a blackboard. He sounds like a child, not a man. He’s a pansy, and should be planted in a field somewhere.

These UN wonks are sick of empty rhetoric, tired platitudes and amateur theatrics – they certainly are not interested in political/intellectual lightweights – they respond to only one thing, leaders who can hurt them or who can buy them – the wee spud offers neither

Empty head – empty words, empty wallet – empty UN hall

Got to love that feel good message… in Canada diversity unites us. Seems to me we’re more devided then ever. Gay against straight, white against black, male against female, east against west, liberal against conservative. It seems like in the last ten years all these old scars have been dug up and reopened. Every special rights group champions their cause as if it is superior to all others and it’s become more about the tax payer compensating them for thier “diversity” then being equals. We fight against each other while our government imports rapists, thief’s, and murderers by the thousands in the name of diversity.
If you ask me we could use a lot less diversity and more equality.

Statesman?? Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha. This POS Trudeau isn’t even a man or a half successful politician, leave alone a statesman. Mind you if you define a successful Liberal politician by the lies told or by the amount of money wasted on himself and on unrealistic goals, then bin Trudeau is highly successful.
A total embarrassment to Canada and the Canadian people.
I believe I have heard that speech before that the drama queen gave at the UN. In fact I listened to it again and I’m sure I have heard him give it before somewhere.

Whenever I see Trudeau, particularly when see him giving one of these pompous, arrogant, condescending, platitude-filled diatribes, I’m reminded of a line by Kathleen Turner from War of the Roses, “When I look at you lately, I just want to smash your face in”. Only for me that feeling did just start lately. I’ve had it from day one.

Yup, the Little Spud got about as much attention as a little potato falling back to the ground fro the harvester – TruDope & Obumer & Clintoon – are fast becoming the worlds Joke of the decade. The Movement is moving ahead – with force unlike known to the tyrants of our world. Rational peoples everywhere are getting really pissed with empty headed tyrants and are beginning to awake to the reality of the solution. Our God is much mightier & compassionate than their god!

The bloom may even be coming off the rose for some, not all, the media. Though I have pretty much abandoned Canadian news networks for Fox news I was pleased Evan Solomon was quite objective in questioning his fluffy house leader on this past Sunday’s CTV Question Period. It was pointed out how little actual has been achieved the first year, just a lot of “consulting”. Farmers would call it “all chaff no wheat”.
commented 2016-09-21 12:23:04 -0400
Didn’t he give the same speech during the 2015 election?
commented 2016-09-21 12:17:57 -0400
Ultimately, he’s a goof and a loser. The local CTV announcer said that he received accolades for his speech as they panned the hall showing all the empty seats. Just like Shiny Potato’s intellect. Nothing there. He has no gravitas. But he’ll take a selfie and the media will be eating out of his hand as Canada starts to slide down the slippery slope…

How about we learn from Europe’s mistake and recommit ourselves to uphold Canadian values.

A collection of his favorite platitudes, this would be embarrassing if he was speaking to a small room of his groupies in an untelevised speech. That this empty suit represents Canada on the world stage is beyond belief. Thankfully he’s too dense to realize how sad he and his party really are and of course he would get the compulsory after speech tongue bath from the media and his hangers on

Fuck Trudeau and his diversity is good bullshit. Is that the only words that asshole knows? What a fucking moron.
