FOI docs: Notley COP21 delegates billed Alberta taxpayers $2K for Paris limos

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Host | The Gunn Show

Service Alberta Minister Stephanie McLean likes to boast that her NDP government is so much different from the luxury loving administrations of yesteryear. McLean likes to think her NDP are far removed from the limo aficionados in the Federal government too.

In the wake of the Jane Philpott limo scandal, McLean claimed the NDP are always careful to safeguard public dollars. She even assured the Sun Newspaper chain that neither she nor her fellow cabinet ministers would ever use an executive car service. They travel like the rest of us unwashed masses in the Alberta proletariat.

Except they don’t. I have the Freedom of Information documents to prove it.

Last year, when the Premier’s entourage went to COP21, the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris, they hired a car service. And it wasn’t cheap. The Premier’s crew hired an executive car service to the tune of 1495 Euros. That’s $2,218 Canadian.

To show their gratitude to the driver for a job well done, the NDP bought the limo driver’s lunch. But you and I paid for it. They expensed that too.

Stephanie McLean is on the record saying her NDP government does not use executive car services. They do. Maclean didn’t tell the truth and she didn't think anyone would ever fact check her.

The NDP are counting on the mainstream media to give them the benefit of the doubt. We didn’t.

The NDP aren’t different than the Redford Tories. They have the same contempt for taxpayers and the same appetite for luxury. They just wear orange ties instead of blue.

perhaps you should take into account that the Paris bombing was on Nov.13.. two short weeks before the conference. The city was essentially in lockdown. Public taxi and busses were in total turmoil. Security was beyond tight and drivers for visiting government officials would need to be vetted. Try taking things in context!! YOU make yourselves look like idiots when you write things like this.

So how did the NDP get in to form the Government ? Didn’t somebody have to vote them in ? Could it have been the voting public of Alberta, that didn’t pay attention to the Destruction wrought by an NDP government in Ontario some time ago. You mean to say they had no idea of the damage they would be subjected to after voting these radical leftist, politically correct morons into office. In Ontario we again voted in a Liberal government also filled with politically correct morons even after suffering years of their previously failed policies. Same with our Federal government, just more of the same politically correct, out of control, spend like crazy, left wing fools. It’s hard to muster sympathy when you had a choice and didn’t choose wisely. Yes it’s a sorry state of affairs all around and will soon be getting seriously worse. What will it take before we stand and say enough ? There is going to be more abuse of our tax money, more unnecessary spending, more taxes, more job loss, more political correctness, more rights afforded non citizens, more undesirable refugees, more of our rights and freedoms impinged upon, I’m sure we all have our own list. Canada is going to suffer an agonizing future, and the only response as I see it is going to be a fight to merely survive. What we have known in the past will never be again, just look towards Europe to see the expected future. So the fact Notley blew some of our money, won’t even register as a newsworthy item soon, we will be taken up with more life and death struggles.

Oh come on now.
You know we taxpayers are very generous folks. Every year each of us gives away thousands of dollars to those needy, caring charities, the Municipal, Provincial and Federal governments.

Why not just eliminate the middle man, ie the worker and give the "raise directly to the NDP & Liberal governments. It will save a lot of time.

It is very clear the plan is to further destroy & increase poverty among hard-working Canadians. That is okay though once we have given our country away to the Islamists our glorious leaders can live in gated communities and not be subject to Sharia law the way the rest of the Canadians shall be living. I guess this means the NDP politicians and Liberals have nothing to worry about because they are “special”.

How in HELL did ANYONE think the NDP was going to be an improvement? Alberta needs a tax revolt, yesterday if possible. What about a class action? I don’t live in Alberta, but please, for the sake of your children and grandchildren, do SOMETHING!

Rob Greely damn rights, if it was about being green they would do it in that fashion. But of course we know it is about money and self promotion.

I still can’t believe we live in an ndpee province, every morning feels like the worst nightmare I ever had, trouble is I can’t get rid of the horrible feeling every day. Imagine just how much worst it will be with this garbage carbon tax nutley will bring on in the middle of winter, couldn’t come in at a worse time. It’s like she wants to make us to freeze in the dark and starve. Our lights come on around 4pm, furnace on and off all 24 hr. A day, then the escalating costs of absolutely everything we buy. What AN ABSOLUTE EVIL WITCH, SHE IS LAUGHING AT THE PURE HARDSHIP SHE WILL INFLICT ON ALL OF US. My young son with 4 kids is already struggling, my aunt is already struggling, how will we survive this insanity?

When it does happen we need to put these pigs in a work camp for a stretch.

I actually want us to hit rock bottom, it is going to happen so get it done with, these leeching scum need to learn that the well runs dry eventually and when they have no means of paying others to perform services such as policing they will have no one to protect them.

Mongrel-Klein also made his people take a cut first and give up their pensions to a point. He actually practiced what he preached , damn i miss him.
These elitist pigs are all the same.

It would have been more appropriate to just tip the driver. Anyway, this is how brain-dead they really are.

Actually there is a difference between the post-Klein Tories of Stelmach, Redford, et al and the current Non-Democratic Party government besides the party colours. The Tories figured out that if one lives a luxurious lifestyle at tax payer expense, there needs to be an economy to provide jobs to enable the income to tax. The Non-Democrats seem to think taxpayers don’t need jobs to enable income to tax. So while the later Tories were not the best, they at least ensured an economy that the people had decent jobs.

Who would have thought we would be looking back on Redford as the good times?

Sheila, THAT’S why they hate you.

@ Steve Hicken…. The problem is we should give a rat’s ass. At the end of the dippers term( which better be as soon as possible) , if you add up all the 2 grands then you will observe quite a sum of money. Stephanie McLean looks like the typical Starbucks latte slurping dipper skank, with her nightly table on hold at the Red Star I’m sure.

Dump Knothead and her sick-o-phants

After college they couldn’t make enough of their own money to live large, so they got elected by promising to hand out free stuff. Voila, let the good times roll!

Robert Mcclelland commented – “Lefties are never happier than when living the good life with other peoples money.”

You knew these freeloading commie types in College – they were the ones who made every major bash of the year and partied the hardest without ever bringing a six-pack to the parties.

Right. As the bills for the 4 year Fabian frosh keg party come in this is like the bill for the paper cups.

Alberta – giving government to these junior commies was like giving the car keys and your Gold Mastercard to your teenaged son and his frat buddies with no strings attached.

And who signs off on these expenses, and who accepts this deceptive behavior from a Minister?
