Does freedom of speech cover Avengers movie spoilers?

David MenziesMission Specialist

There has been some speculation that a recent news story detailing the mob beating of a man who spoiled the new Avengers movie was fake news, but hold that thought for a moment.

If you're one of the Marvel movie fans who waited 11 years for Endgame to wrap up its long-running story arc, is it still pure freedom of speech for someone to shout plot points to fans waiting in line at the theater?

Maybe I’m becoming intolerant in my old age…but I don’t have any sympathy for assholes who act out their asshole behavior in public, and then – cause and effect – Karma puts boot to ass! Like Jihadis blowing themselves up…accidentally; bullies getting a beat-down – from their victims; scumbag politicians being thrown out of office, and other crooks being caught red-handed – and being made to pay the price.
Too bad, so sad. LOL!
Think of it as Mother Nature cleaning house or Social Darwinism at work, if you’re one of those evolutionists…Don’t forget, Satan’s running things here on Earth, these days!

I can’t even remember the last time I was in a movie theater…it was sometime in the last century!

Do you have the right to flash a huge roll of cash in a seedy part of town? If you came by the cash honestly, you absolutely do. Do you then have the right to walk through a darkened back alley with the cash? Of course. You absolutely do. Will you then get mugged, and maybe beaten or worse, and then have that money stolen from you? Probably. Will your attackers be guilty of a crime and should they be charged and prosecuted? Absolutely! But none of that means that your actions don’t make you an idiot. Just because you have the right to do something doesn’t mean that acting upon that right isn’t stupid. You also have the right to poke yourself in the eye within a sharp stick. It’s your eye, you can do what you want with it, but that would be REAL stupid. What I’m saying is, stupidity may be a human right but all actions have consequences.

If you shout plot points outside the theater. “I will taze you and watch Supernanny while you drool in the carpet”…

If you don’t get that reference your not a true fan.
