From award winning psychology professor to cancelled courses. R.I.P. critical thinking on campus

David MenziesMission Specialist

An award winning, student favourite Laurentian University Professor has been removed from teaching an introductory psychology class for requesting that students sign a waiver agreeing to his use of vulgar language.

It isn’t as if Psychology Professor Michael Persinger has a gratuitous potty mouth. He was teaching a course on the effect of language which of course would include naughty words. How can you teach a course on the psychological effect of naughty language unless you use some naughty language by way of example?

In trying to give sensitive students a heads up and a chance to remove themselves from the class, he was instead removed by an apparently overly sensitive superior who relates more to a little bubble-wrapped psych student than the adult who is trying to instil knowledge and prepare students for the real world.

I can hardly wait to see how members of this current generation will function once they graduate to reality - that place where there are no student councils and no university provosts to complain to.

Good luck kids, and good luck world!

Haha, just tried to find his critical thinking course on youtube; didn’t find it; but seen another lecture he does on remote viewing / mind reading; and a theory where all 7 billion brains of the planet can form a hologram and communicate with each other. LOL. wtf.

I challenge your conclusion. In the real world they might not have the student council and not even the university provos to complaint to, however, they will have the Canadian Human Right Commission (aka the “thought police”)

My son is in his fourth year at that university and he said Persinger was the best professor he has ever had and was probably the smartest person he ever encountered. Most of his fellow students agree and have complained to the school to have him reinstated.

Just common sense has to tell and forewarn the world that these University Administrations’ and their PC system is well past the tolerance of accepting the insanity that these institutions advocate in order to sustain any purposeful use toward education and knowledge of the universe period!
So far as I can ascertain, most of today’s’ University and College Curriculum are an entrance to the road of insanity!
The education is useless simply because by it’s own definition of rules one is not allowed to use the foundation of natural laws of the universe because doing so would deny the invisible University law of having to be Politically Correct in regard to every act of living that one might exercise???? :)

Apparently, only one person complained about it after ten years. You’d think that they’d take that into consideration. But, No!

In the cause of enlightenment, I shall use naughty words in my comment. This just to elucidate on what the Professor was talking about.

Bet it was a Mother Fucking Muslim Cunt who complained !

I hope that I did not offend anybody with my answer, if so, I am sorry.

IF you remove tenure this will all go away.

It is most definitely not the “fault” of the students. The fault and idiotic action rests with the University Administration.

These bubble wrapped little baby university children are an embarrassment to our society, but it is not entirely all their fault. Even though everyone is responsible for their own self, their own actions, all people are still part of the society in which they were raised and strongly influenced by their parent(s). We live in a “bubble wrap the children” society, so it is not all that surprising that when they grow up, they expect that same level of bubble wrap. This is why it is not good to shelter you children from the real world, otherwise they will not be prepared for the real world when they grow up.
