From dignity to stigma: “Ordinary” work “now seen as something for failures and foreigners”

Tanveer AhmedRebel Commentator

Here's a telling irony: In Australia recently, 160,000 new jobs were created — to serve in the booming Disability Pensions "industry."

It's no secret that in the Western world, more people than ever are on disability and receiving other government benefits, rather than being part of the workforce.

But what's behind this trend?

The decline of Christianity, for one thing...

The so called mentally ill will blame stigma for not getting a job. They say that the stigma is worse than the symptoms of their mental illness. Because of this, they feel like they do not have to find work, and have a medical reason for milking welfare.

With all the “newcomers” to Canada, there will be a lot of job opportunities for SJW degree holders. That is how Baby Doc will be able to increase the job stats to prove that he is doing a good job.

While the imports can barely understand a word of English or French, the government SJW will drone on and on to them about feminism, diversity, social justice, social license, et cetera, all the while earning as much as six figure incomes.

Australia, other than the weather, is just like Canada.

Harley, yes there’s an incredible amount of money that goes into “research” grants for subjects that are of no interest or use to anyone other than the researcher and his or her circle of assistants. I’m talking about billions of dollars annually that pours into stuff like, oh here’s a good one: studying the professor’s ancestral diaspora in a country known for its warm climate (this translates into getting a fat check from the taxpayer to hang out with your relatives in your homeland for several months). All she needed to do was come back and write a paper about her research findings.

But you see, as the education bureaucracies grow and grow (and it’s in the nature of bureaucracies to expand themselves continuously) more and more of our tax dollars are being “invested” in creating jobs for bureaucrats, whether they’re university professors who want to study their relatives or Deputy Assistant Strategic Procurement Directors in hospitals, or any one of thousands of non-jobs with big pay checks and impressive titles. If you’re one in one of those sjw-inspired degree programs you’re going to line up for these gigs. If you’re lucky enough to get hired, you can live a life of a limousine liberal and feel good about it. In a way the education bureaucracies are now dedicated to cranking out the bureacrats of the future. For those who don’t make the cut, there’s welfare. And who’s footing the bill for all of this? Those working stiffs doing the jobs that all these leech-crats look down upon. No wonder populism is gaining in popularity.

I walk past the the newspaper racks every morning not even pausing to scan the headlines. I do the same with the trolls that post here. They have nothing to offer and their opinions are irrelevant.

Just had to add this. I remember someone getting funding to study dinosaur farts. To calculate the amount of methane produced. So it could be compared with today,s methane production from animals.

This started many years ago. Higher education was good, The trades were for dummies like me.
I remember the shock from friends who went and got student loans to get these high paying jobs only to find out that a skilled trades paid substantially more money. Yes the trades paid more than many of the useless degrees in many areas. I also got the, you are not as important as we(educated) are. How can you be paid more money than us. When I responded with well, you do not actually create or produce anything, Just a blank stare. Education is a business, tailored so mommy and daddy can have baby get a degree in something anything as long as it is not the trades. I work with many races ,they are proud and dont seem to be triggered by hard work. Today young people do not seem to understand there is no APP that will build a house , fix a car etc.

If you’re a kid coming up through our education system today you will receive constant subtle and not-so-subtle messages from your teachers, guidance counsellors and the education bureaucracy that any career that involves working with your hands, or otherwise doing useful things, is for dummies and low lifes. If, on the other hand, you want to be respected and earn big dollars, a degree in social justice-oriented studies is the only way to go. This attitude is reinforced by the universities where you can spend the formative years of your adult life indulging your inner sjw and getting top marks for expressing your opinions and feeling superior to the rest of the world. We have millions of people graduating with big egos, big expectations and no marketable skills. To at least some of these disappointed and disenchanted new grads living off the taxpayer seems more pleasant and preferable to doing work that they have been taught to believe is for low lifes.

Once again “Jay Kelly” proves he is nothing but a paid troll. His boss must be content with his efforts or “Jay” would have faded long ago. Such a busy little beaver posting article after article, he does deserve that raise.
It is humorous that he pretends to know what actual work is.

Whites seem to have a harder time accepting that they can’t do any better than an entry level job. So when they are stuck in these jobs, they have a really poor attitude.

The interesting thing about many so-called ordinary jobs is that they tend to be very well paying, require certain skillsets that few people have anymore, can allow for flexible scheduling, and present opportunities for mobility and regular employment.

I find that Whites don’t like these types of jobs, but Hispanics and Blacks come to them without hesitation. Why? Because these jobs have no barriers, racial or otherwise; and they get to associate with honest, unfiltered people. There’s no virtue signaling going on, so everyone knows what’s up. Truly a level playing field without the needless mindgames.

Tanveer Ahmed is right on the button with this one. In Canada we have a remarkably low awareness of class structure and classism. It makes us uncomfortable when we hear that are apples are being picked by Mexicans who fly up for two months, or that our carrots are being picked by Jamaicans.

There is a smug Canadian attitude that the reason so many are on welfare is because of the Left, and that on our own we would pick our own fruits and vegetables.

The truth is that overwhelmingly Rebel readers and their families would not be willing to go into the fields and pick carrots. We want to buy them cheap, but truth is we would rather buy a vegetable from California.

People on welfare claim to have mental health concerns so that they do not have to work some entry level job. Keep these videos coming.

Dr.Tanveer puts forward a convincing analogy, but at its core the social stigmata of labor trades and low end service jobs is a matter of class bigotry. Smug leftists with a unmarketable degree in arcane political science would rather live on welfare than work at McDonalds or sling rebar – this is beneath their arrogant bearing – mom’s basement or a failure to launch subsidized apt is more their speed.

I have nothing but respect for immigrants who are willing to work and improve their employment fortunes – they are more Canadian with Canadian values compared to the endemic coddled suburban slackers with junk humanities degrees, who look down on them .

Canada’s “participation rate” is higher today than 40 years ago.

These Globalist , Communist, Socialist left wing people are truly sick people and lazy . They have to depend on the government controlling every aspect off therye lives as they cannot think for themselves . They are truly sheeple and cannot live outside the herd mentality . Obvious to history they like repeating losing ideaology and expect different results repeating therye failures over and over again and become violent because of these failures . They then blame other people’s beliefs for therye failures and cause anarchy and mayhem in the quest for the NWO . 🇨🇦
