From edgy to “hurtful”: Classic Lou Reed song now deemed “transphobic”

David MenziesMission Specialist

There was a time when tranny trouble meant the gearshift was slipping from "drive" into "neutral," but in this age of 169 genders and counting, tranny trouble can pop up any place and continue to confound and confuse us.

This time it happened when the University of Guelph student association was selling bus passes to students and inadvertently caused a “hurtful” incident.

You see, there was music playing in the background and one of the songs was Lou Reed’s Walk on the Wild Side, a song which is apparently now considered “transphobic.”

An obligatory apology was issued on Facebook and while the actions of the student association are unintentionally hilarious as you’ll see, there is an aspect of this that’s not so funny.

These politically-correct peons will one day graduate and perhaps get positions in law, academia, government and human rights commissions.

And that’s when they can formally change the rules, making it illegal to be insensitive, further clamping down on freedom of speech and expression.

It’s all about using the apparatus of the state to force us to take a walk on the PC-approved mild side.

As Lou Reed would say "…But within my little world, nobody tells me what to put on the albums.”
I think Franken female is entirely appropriate in some cases , there are convincing tranny’s who would agree. Some actually are Franken females.
I doubt Menzies is ever going to let us in the ‘peanut gallery’ modify his speech, and I would stop reading if he did.

Space Moose, I concur!

Sorry the word had this meaning before you decided to appropriate it. You cannot just decide you own the damn word all of a sudden.

“And the colored girls go
Doo do doo, doo do doo, doo do doo”

And were happy to do so…music gigs even as backup singers are hard to come by when you are trying to get a foothold in that industry….just ask Holly Cole.

Maurice Potvin:
That’s why Canada legalized assisted suicide!

I mean, Stephen Hawking loves this earth so much, he thinks people should be eliminated to save it.
Quelle difference?

Identity politics enforcers are fascist drones who have no sense of humor or empathy with artistic nuance…. they are the living dead.

“I can’t do anything I want to. I mean, I can’t have my own TV show. I can’t have my own movie. But within my little world, nobody tells me what to put on the albums.”
“You can’t ask me to explain the lyrics because I won’t do it.” (Lou Reed)

I just realized, the left is soooo backwards they are not a threat as long as we pay attention to their ridiculous antics. Almost like child proofing your house and helping young children grow up. I did it with four boys, I suppose I could now help a few SJW’s grow up. It is now our civic duty to do so. We conservatives now know what we must do.

Western civilization is toast! All you who embrace logic and common sense, say goodbye now. Hey, we had a good run! It’s time to check out for that big, broad rational world up in the sky. I pity those who are still young and have their lives ahead of them.

We are being ruled by a bunch of hair-triggered neurotics that filter everything as a direct attack on them. It’s no wonder there are so many screwed up souls in the world, that don’t stand a chance. It’s quite pathetic to say the least.

Next, the Rolling Stones song Brown Sugar will come under fire from BLM.

PC freaks don’t always keep jobs long, but they always get the boss jobs. But Boy do they cause trouble while their there. I’ve worked for a couple of them, and eventually lost a job due to the confident tone of my voice. You have to weather the storm, and wait for them to get fired due to their own incompetence.

How about lola (Kinks) do they like that one?
Snowflakes think they invented aberrations in nature. The instigators know they didn’t , but stepped it up a few notches by inventing new ones nobody had until they were introduced to them.
I wonder what Lou Reed would have to say?

Lou Reed and the Kinks were from a time when Western worlds were still free to express their opinions and the only ones offended were our parents. As it always has been and should remain. SJW’S are indeed the death of free expression.

It surprises me that the Guelph Stupid Association did not also apologize to Black Lives Matter for playing the song. The chorus is ‘…and the coloured girls go, do de do do do de do….’. This was written by a white guy so clearly cultural appropriation of black culture and using the term coloured, now defined a racist term.

Hence the Guelph Stupid Association is clearly racist itself for not recognizing these hurt feelings and threat the coloured students felt…oops….I mean Black students…I mean Afro students…I mean what ever the correct term currently is in vogue.

Every time I hear Dire Straights ‘money for nothing" I wonder when it will face the censor’s scissors but somehow I don’t think maggot will be seen as an improvement.

SJW’s have created a new branch of the thought/language police…. songwriters will be subjected to this nonsense, and lyrics making a social commentary will have no place in society, unless, it falls under the approved narrative. Transphobic Lou Reed???
If there was an “offended party” on campus, why not ask that person to clearly explain what their reason is for being offended….listen to what they have to say, then; tell them to get over it!
