From Mrs. Universe to refugees: Citizen journalist explains what the Media Party got wrong -- and why

Christopher WilsonRebel Commentator

Christopher Wilson interviews Rebel Megaphone Blogger Dean Skoreyko about some of the more sensational media stories we've heard so far in the federal election.

We cover a number of election related stories from Aylan Kurdi to Mrs. Universe, detailing where and how the Media Party got it wrong and demonstrating why Rebel Media and citizen journalists are so vital if we want an informed electorate.

So Sylvia, you are, in fact, against religious people in politics. What about humanism? Does a belief in evolution prove you are rational? If so, prove you evolved from a single celled organism and we will listen.

In Canada we have the right to religious freedom and to worship who we please, even if we believe that the moon is made of blue cheese or that there is no God and we’re just an alien experiment. HOWEVER, when you mix that religion with politics and start making policies based on your religious beliefs, then it becomes MY business.

The Christian Alliance Church, Evangelical Christians, believe that the earth is only 6,500 years old and all scientists are liars.

They believe that without Israel there can be no Armageddon and therefore no Rapture. Therefore Israel must be protected at any cost.

They do no support abortion or homosexuality and believe that those who aren’t born-again are “lost.”

WHO is the most PROMINENT member of the Christian Alliance Church in Calgary, Alberta? Canada’s Prime Minster, Stephen Harper.

Does this help you to understand where a lot of the policies that have been made in Canada stem from?

I am NOT against ANYONE’S religious beliefs, but religion and politics don’t mix and what is happening in Canada right now is a perfect example of why it doesn’t.

Terry, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that the world is in grave moral decline, and also in a physically precarious position…but not because of so called “Climate change”. Instead, there is a pending catastrophe, called an EMP …which as a rocket scientist, I know something about. And yet, almost all of our politicians and MSM celebrities are totally unaware. Back in January, 2012, Premier Allison Redford and her entourage visited our office. When I brought up this subject, their eyes totally glazed over. It’s no wonder the PC’s in Alberta were so ignorant that they couldn’t see their disastrous defeat coming. Problem is, that Rachel’s NDP are equally ignorant of the fact that the only reason they won the election was because the electorate was totally ticked with the PCs. For some background info on why “Climate Change” is a myth, check out the talk given by Dr. Patrick Moore, “Confessions of a Green Peace Dropout”, on Youtube.

Alex: no comment?

Terry said, “Levant worked as a lobbyist”

Operative word, “worked”. Past tense.

So Terry, “Once a lobbyist, never to trust to be impartial again?” or does that just apply to right wing people?
commented 2015-09-21 13:29:46 -0400
Terry said, “And since then pretty much every generation has forecast End Times within their lifespan. And it hasn’t happened.”

So the logic here is that since there are people who inaccurately predicted the end times, therefore it will never happen.

Good logic, Terry. (not)

“‘When I see the conflict of interest, I put a zero value to the substance of the commentary.”
Alex, are you aware that Levant worked as a lobbyist for Rothman’s Incorporated, and as a lobbyist for the Alberta oil & gas industry, specifically for Achieve Energy Services Limited Partnership? That he allowed Stephen Harper to run in his stead as a CA Party candidate in 2002?
In light of your views on conflict of interest, does that impact on your perception of Ezra’s credibility when “reporting” on these issues?
commented 2015-09-21 12:55:40 -0400
When I see a full page add supporting the oil industry. I put as much value to it as I would a commentary from Michael Spratt or an add from the Tides foundation. My dislike for lobbyists can be debated later
Journalists are taught to practice responsible journalism. For the CBC it should be imperative since they are publicly funded.
Yes the Sun News has some inane reports. Perhaps 1.1 Billion dollars a year can help them improve.

Err….yeah. And since then pretty much every generation has forecast End Times within their lifespan. And it hasn’t happened. But lots of people are making lots of money selling lots of books about their particular theory. WND is one of the most transparently vulgar about it, but I guess that’s because they publish the books and sell survivalist gear on the side.

I’ll let someone wiser speak for me…
“As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.
“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Mathew 24

‘When I see the conflict of interest, I put a zero value to the substance of the commentary."
Interesting. So when, let’s say, a lobbyist with deep and long standing ties to Conservative Party and to the oil and tobacco industries “covers” stories to do with any of those issues, you put zero value on their coverage? Have I got that right?
commented 2015-09-21 08:50:41 -0400
Does the conflict of interest not make the commentary inane? When I see the conflict of interest, I put a zero value to the substance of the commentary. Inanity seems automatic to me.

“Applied Metaphysics of 1979”. How so very very interesting. Have you leaped from the limitations of the old and into the limitlessness of the new yet?
commented 2015-09-21 06:58:53 -0400
Dan: I’m reminded of my early days in television, when our station would interview a small group from the “Institute of Applied Metaphysics”, based at the time near Tweed, Ontario (Canada’s flying saucer capital). They had selected a date in October, 1979, as the end of the world, and would regularly provide us with a monthly update, as well as preparedness tips, guidelines for conduct in the afterlife, and so on. Nice folks.
In early November, 1979, I was a bit surprised to receive a call from the head of the organization, asking to set a date for their next interview. I pointed out politely that their apocalypse had failed to occur, and that that might tend to lessen their credibility in the eyes of our viewers (not to mention the level of amusement our crew always got out of the tapings.) She informed me serenely that the world “as we know it” HAD ended on the date foretold, but that we had now entered an unanticipated transitional period in which we were all living (matrix style, I guess), in an illusory world, and she wanted to announce the date when the veil would be lifted.
Fans of apocalypses get very good at retroactively rewriting their forecasts, I’ve noted.

Alex: I wasn’t commenting on conflict of interest, real or perceived; I was commenting on the inanity of a blogger for the Rebel interviewing another blogger for the Rebel about how wonderful the Rebel’s blogging is. That’s pretty close to masturbation, in my book.

Packed? Where are you going to go?
I already live out in the middle of nowhere. When the SHTF and the crash comes, the infrastructure breaks down and you urban liberals are all eating each other, Ill be chowing down on wild meat and garden fresh produce and sipping spring water.
When you suburbanites are hiding from rape gangs or goat molesters wanting to convert you or chop off your head before they eat you, I’ll be sittin’ pretty with a well stocked pantry and armory. The neighbours may be few and far between out here, but they’re salt of the earth, very handy, independent and neighbourly, and they’re all armed…
What happens, happens, I’m just sittin’ back, with my feet up, and a view of the lake, waiting for…whatever happens.
I hope it doesn’t all fall apart like it’s doing, I like my little comforts and luxuries…and can you ever have enough toilet paper?
So Terry, just for you ( I hope you’ve diversified your assets accordingly) :

Michael Spratt commenting on election, CBC…………………………………………………..Wife running for NDP.
Ian Capstick political commentator on CBC…………………………………………………..Partner to NDP director.
Terry, is this not just as funny? In fairness to Capstick. He discloses his partisanship. Michael Spratt is being portrayed as an objective commentator.

Dan Mancuso, should you be wasting time on this site? Weren’t you worried about the World Net Daily’s prediction of the end of the world, or something? Or are you already packed?

Terry, I live in the vain hope of ever seeing journalism in the MSM. I see you like hanging at THEREBEL.MEDIA. Good! If you hang around long enough, eventually some reality just might rub off on you and then you’ll love it too! Kool!

The Media Party are holding a stacked deck on an uneven playing field with too many players and bought refs.
I say fight fire with fire. – LAWFARE!
Use the real courts and the kangaroo courts – the kangaroo courts are ‘free’ – and attack the Media Party’s corporate minions with the legal system – just like the Islamists, the socialists and the homosexuals are doing to Christian and Jewish heterosexuals.
Attack their lies and their collusion, their treachery and treason. Go after Lacroix’s gang through the bureaucracy, the rest, through their bottom line.
Once you take the Media Party down, then you can go after the robot factories…rounding up all the commies and organized criminals in the public and private sector unions and then ‘house’ them where appropriate – in a jail or a nut-house.
Only then can you begin the arduous generational task of reversing all the programming, indoctrination, damage and destruction.
Or maybe it’s just too late…

A good idea to review this MSM corruption and show how they are working against democracy BUT! I have to say wow, don’t think I’ve ever seen two guys get so caught up in the ahs and ums. Counted 35 from Chris Wilson and 117 from Dean Skoreyko. I probably missed a few too. For a short 10 minute piece that was really hard to watch. About half way through I began to wince at every ah and um, went back after and counted. C’mon you guys really. Hope you go back and watch this piece of yourselves. I’m sure you will wince too.

Christopher, thanks for a good report; it’s good to see reporting with integrity, something that is in very short supply in the red-green MSM these days. The only place I expect to see such integrity reporting now is THEREBEL.MEDIA.

The red-green lunatic MSM are now completely in bed with the lunatic fringe parties, i.e. the Liberals, and the NDP. I expect to see integrity reporting from the MSM now about as much as I expect to see JT make an intelligent comment…

When you spend three hours reapplying coating to your lashes and doubling up on Crest whitening strips you miss out on a little war history. It’s inevitable.

Socialists are the most ignorant on the planet, to equate a veteran (I am one) to Hitler’s brown shirts is reprehensible. As a veteran I also know for a fact that socialists hate the military and love terrorists, just read what they say. I had a woman start screaming at me as I was getting out of my car (Veteran plates), I looked their way and said “what is your problem”? She stated that the military needs to be disbanded as it is a waste of money, she went on to say that if the money was taken from the military and given to people on welfare then they can have a better lifestyle. I started to laugh and said if you want a better lifestyle then get out and work, she responded by saying that she is a single mother and therefore cannot work and anybody with a half a brain knows that single woman cannot work so they are “forced” on welfare and to live in poverty. Where in the hell do people learn this?
