The Canadian government says that they won't release their internal documents on the return of the #GarbageShip until next year, after the election is already over.
In my experience of filing access to information requests with the federal government, the rule is that the longer it takes for them to fulfill, the more they're trying to cover up their embarrassment.
As you know, we have been tracking Catherine McKenna's beautiful container ship filled with Canadian garbage on its voyage back home after a years-long vacation in the Philippines. We here at The Rebel are excited to see the Liberal Party welcome this filthy cargo back to our shores.
You can see all of our coverage at GarbageShip.com.
This ship was all part of a “garbage colonialism” scheme where first world countries routinely send trash to the developing world while telling ourselves that it will be recycled.
Naturally I wanted to know what was going on behind the scenes. Catherine McKenna has two dozen staffers working on her social media, so there must be memos and emails concerning her iconic “Anchors aweigh!” tweet. And with President Duterte of the Philippines threatening a “garbage war” with Canada, there must have been some texts or briefing notes exchanged.
But, I'm getting stonewalled. Is it something they said that they don't want us to see?
In this video I'll go over the response we got back, which you can view right here.
