Garnett Genuis on M103: “‘Islamophobia’ can mean different things”

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

On last night's show, MP Garnett Genuis and I debated the need for M103, the recently passed Liberal motion to "study" "Islamophobia" with the ultimate aim of somehow eliminating it:

I don’t believe there is a problem. Sheer Bull Shit from Canada’s bleeding Heart Government. The heart of Canadian stupidity and naivety. Canada’s don’t want the problems that Islam brings and has brought to Europe. And, why the hell would we?

@ron Voss…spot on.

One of the things that will come of this motion is similar to the “gender related” policy review. It creates careers in the bureaucracy for SJW graduates with worthless degrees. “Islamophobia” being by its nature chronic and incurable assures lifelong careers.

It can’t be defined because it is not a real word. Based on the definition of phobia: A phobia is an irrational fear, a kind of anxiety disorder in which the individual has a relentless dread of a situation, living creature, place, or thing. Individuals with a phobia go to great lengths to avoid a perceived danger which is much greater in their minds than in real life. There is no irrationality behind anyone who fears Islam.

M-103 is Islamophilic through its implied, special focus on the protection of all things Muslim, to the detriment of free speech. Let’s start accusing our government of Islamophilia , an affinity or fondness for Islam and see how they like being labeled.

MAURICE POTVIN, “Garnett doesn’t get to define Muslim bigotry or Islamophobia for me, or pass laws to make us all ‘be nice’. He can kiss my ass.”
While not said in the most eloquent way, nonetheless, well said Maurice!
Remember that Genius said, “it’s a problem (that is, anti-Muslim bigotry) that we see in Canada … it is reasonable for legislators to condemn”, therefore, presumably Garnius is speaking here for the Conservative caucus.

Garnett Genius was one of two Conservative MPs who spoke at the debate in the House that occurred on March 21st, two days before M-103 was passed. He took great pains to emphasize that Islamophobia was ill-defined, saying, “Why, then, are we divided? It is because the word ‘Islamophobia’ can be used to mean both discrimination against Muslims and criticism of Islamic doctrine or practice.” He went on to explain, as legislators, the importance of clarity in the words that they use, saying “As members of Parliament, our principal tool is the words we use. The suggestion that we should shrug about the meanings of words, about the definitions of things we are being asked to condemn, is clearly wrong. We are in the words business here. We should not, therefore, shrug about the meanings of words. This is my sole basis for objecting to the text of the current motion.”
In this segment of the interview that Ezra had on his show with Genius, Genius declares, “anti-Muslim discrimination and bigotry is a problem; it’s a problem that we (presumably speaking here for the Conservative caucus) see in Canada…it is reasonable for legislators to condemn anti-Muslim bigotry”. In total, in this segment, Genius made reference to “bigotry” seven times.
During the full interview, Ezra, who one should remember is a non-practicing lawyer, tried unsuccessfully to pin Genius down as to what he meant by “bigotry”.
It was sad to see as this representative of the Conservative caucus squirmed and got all tangled up trying to explain what he meant by “bigotry”.
The Oxford dictionary defines ‘bigotry’ as “Intolerance towards those who hold different opinions from oneself”. For all I know about Islam, its doctrines, the implications of sharia law, and the intention of its adherents to achieve global dominance as a caliphate, I must say that put me in the class of being a ‘bigot’, which, like Islamophobia, is an over-used word by the ‘progressive’ left.

Well i think it means anyone who will draw a political pension in the future is guilty of Islamophobia, how does that sound Genius? Now go turn yourself in for punishment.

“Islamophia” is the term that is hurled at people who know the truth about Islam!

I believe in the one true God, the God of Israel. Junior thinks he’s god but I know that God has some things in store for this evil dictator, and his evil cabinet of traitors.

Islama phobia is a non word. You cannot have qn irrational fear of people who want to kill you.

If you’re condemned (or criminally charged) for being Islamophobic (as the inevitable legal legislation takes its course), it’s because you’re not Sharia-compliant and therefore a criminal blasphemer. You will be listed in a newly created registry for “race” offenders. Does this mean you will be rounded up one day by order of a future Ayatollah of Canada?
Trudeau’s pro-Sharia policies (such as segregated genders in public schools, condoning girls on their period being considered “dirty”, allowing for Imam’s calling for the genocide of Jews, etc.) are dividing Canadians like no previous PM, including his father, has ever done.

My computer is stuttering as bad as Trudeau these days. In fact I just watched baby doc at a news conference and to my dismay, during his french segment there was the unmistakable barrage of ah ah ahs. He is well versed in ah ah ah both official languages.

WE are diverse. If we don’t have a certain amount of murderous donkey diddling camel humping clit cutting barbarians, we won’t be diverse. Diversity is our strength. Justin said so. Hail Justin. Did I mention wife beaters, public pool fondlers, and honor killers?

How are those middle east cabbies treating you Maratime gals?

Human emotions can not be controlled by a man made law. This vague law will ensure that blood will flow on the streets of Canada.
commented 2017-03-24 15:24:42 -0400
No need for m103. Muslims and islam is getting some backlash here because islam is causing war and terror and killing off huge numbers of non muslims especially Christians in the middle east. We’re supposed to sit here in Canada and pretend it isn’t happening? There’s a need for muslims to denounce the violence and oppression by islam world wide and if they can’t do that then islam will continue to be regarded with suspicion and doubt.

Islamophobia-A made up word that means whatever a muslim wants, he gets. Justine seems hell bent to finish daddys work and destroy this once great country. He,s actually turning out to be a bigger douche then his old man, Pierre only tried to sell us out to Quebec and the commies.

Of course Jihadi Justin did not want amendments. That would have limited the scope for which they are going to use this bill!
commented 2017-03-24 14:40:57 -0400
Only one way to get rid of Islamophobia and that is to get rid of Islam in Canada. Send all the Muslims back to their Country’s of origin.

This would also greatly reduce the chances of the Liberals being re elected.

If Islamophobia can mean different things, then that gets the questions:
1. Where is that list of different meanings?
2. Which one of those in this “nebulous” list is used in the M103 motion?
