Generation Trudeau: Trump says Canada should pay reparations for War of 1812?

David MenziesMission Specialist

President-elect Trump ruffled a lot of feathers with his plan to build a wall and make Mexico pay for it, so how would students on campus at Ryerson University feel about Trump coming after Canada to pay reparations for the War of 1812?

Watch as I put the crazy proposition to them and even go further.

We tried to make the question as outrageous as possible but it seems for members of Generation Trudeau, if you preface the question with, “Donald Trump says”, they’ll believe anything.

It is like beating puppies. I mean we are talking about children here.

Anyone heard the looney claim that Trump plans to invade Canada.

The reality is far far worse. What is worse to Canadians in regards to Americans? That Americans don’t give a crap about Canada, don’t think about Canada except maybe once a year, if that, and really have nothing to say about our country.

That’s the tough truth with the “Please notice me” mindset of average Canadians. Our identity is too wrapped up with America. We want to be “unlike” Americans, but that still isn’t a thing. Being unlike is not a real identity. We are obsessed with America and Americans, lets be honest, are more interested in Australia, a nation smaller and thousands of miles away, than Canada.

Down here in the US, we do not teach much real American history any more. It has been replaced with liberal philosophies that have a tribalizing effect on the young skulls. Colleges offer courses entitled “Zombies in Popular Media,” and “Lady Gaga and the Sociology of Fame,” so what do we expect. Junk in junk out. These kids most likely do not know what the War of 1812 was about and who the agressors were(certainly not the Canadians). As far as talk of reparations go – it is mostly foolish talk and the student who thinks many groups are entitled to them is obviously a product of left-wing inculcation. My people came over during the Great Irish Potato Famine, ca. 1850 so maybe I should start a petition to demand reparations from UK taxpayers now living who had nothing to do with the policies that contributed to the famine. Perhaps I will demand that all Irish get free baked potatoes for the rest of their lives paid for by UK taxpayers. Seems fair.
“Should we not be victorious, you will not here of me again…”

It’s obvious they don’t like Trump much, but most had a decent answer.
Menzies, you had better be careful with your “fake news”, cause CBC will coming after you.

… and offer you a full time job. Ha.

Glen Craig—-Most Canadian University students don’t know what Century World War ll was? The US students fared better.

You would find the same level of ignorance inthe USA about the war of 1812. If you found any knowledge of it at all it would be the Battle of New Orleans. The fact that we burned the Shame on You Whitey House would be greeted with disbelief.

David: You are mean!!!
You realize these poor kids will now be writing essays (that is if they still do that kind of thing at University!) on how Trump tried to get repaid for 1812.

Suzanne Peck: Suzanne…this is a joke, a parody, an experiment to demonstrate exactly how unaware these young kids are. They will believe anything, like fake news. Tell your friends y’all have to start learning more about what is really happening in the world. Learn from the many people on this site who are well versed on politics and world issues; you will learn alot.

Suzanne Peck read Jamie’s sarcastic comment, maybe it will shed some light on who the actual idiot is.

Bet you’re at the top of your class in Ryerson, SUZANNE PECK.

Since the Americans lost the war (1812) against Britain, and Canada was a British Colony in 1814 when the war ended, Mr. Trump could consider paying reparations….not to the British, but perhaps to the first nations (eg Tecumseh’s descendants etc), since they were the most affected by this war. Why on earth would Trump expect reparations when they lost? Such an idiot.

Not with you on this one, David. Seems to me your responders generally got it right. No “lack of knowledge” responses here. Good for them.

Actually David, as much as I support the Rebel I found this piece a little weird. Your approach and your false assertions to these young and probably “brain washed” minds that they would not or could not initially take you to task, equates to mocking a mentally challenged person or" beating a puppy" . Unfortunately our school systems have created a whole generation of young people who can’t question , who believe everything they hear.

Not as dumb s the usual Ryerson bunch, as they didn’t jump in as high.
