“Get Out” director survives horror of high expectations with follow-up film “Us”

One of the most difficult things to do in entertainment is to follow a great act, particularly when it’s your own.

Director Jordan Peele exploded onto the scene with the Oscar-nominated first movie, Get Out, and one year later, his new movie Us crept into theatres.

So how did it match up, and did he beat the expectations?

The pressure to push boundaries and deliver the people what they want is great, which is why I was more nervous for Peele than I was for the family in the movie that’s being chased around by their dopplegangers.

But if you like the horror genre, this film does it well, and most of the high praise in the critic score on Rotten Tomatoes is well deserved.
