In some parts of the world like the Middle East, it ain’t easy being gay. Over there you’re better off staying in the closet unless you’re in Israel, the one country where you can be openly gay safely. Inexplicably, that’s the country condemned by leftwing nut-bars from Queers Against Israeli Apartheid.

You’d think the egregiously horrible treatment of homosexuals in other parts of the world would be the primary lobbying focus of the gay rights group Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD). Isn’t the ultimate human right the right to exist?
But GLAAD issued a press release recently not to condemn the incarceration and murder of homosexuals in places like Iran but rather, to implore Walt Disney Studios to include gay characters in the next Star Wars sequel:
“As sci-fi projects have the special opportunity to create unique worlds whose advanced societies can serve as a commentary on our own, the most obvious place where Disney could include LGBT characters is in the upcoming eighth Star Wars film.”
If Disney wants to re-imagine Darth Vader as Garth Gaydar, that’s up to them. There were already rumours that gay characters would appear in the next Star Wars instalment before GLAAD amped up their "Gay Star Wars" campaign so, I ask, do they have their priorities straight?
It seems for GLAAD, it’s more urgent to alter the narrative in a futuristic fantasy world that doesn’t exist, rather than going after the bad guys in the real world who torment and even execute men and women based on their sexual orientation.
If Disney does cast an LGBT character, that character better be a good gay guy or GLAAD will make sure there’s hell to pay!
Is it just me or is the world getting more queer by the hour?
