GQ delivers “turkey” of a Trump-hating column for Thanksgiving

David MenziesMission Specialist

How low can the mainstream media go in its vilification of President Trump?

The headline of a recent GQ column says it all: “It’s your civic duty to ruin Thanksgiving by bringing up Trump”, with the subhead, “This Turkey Day, consider making life HELL for a few of your relatives.”

The accompanying photo-illustration depicts Trump as a human turkey who is about to endure multiple knife wounds.

The column is unfunny and cringe-inducing, offering this bitter advice:

If you’re headed home to a household that still thinks a sex-offending game show host in rapid cognitive decline was the best choice for a president, it is your civic duty to filibuster Thanksgiving.

But aren’t holidays like Thanksgiving all about enjoying the company of family and friends? Isn’t it all about giving thanks?

Talking politics at the dinner table is fine and there’s nothing wrong with a feisty debate but where’s the logic in embracing a scorched-Earth policy?

Why would anyone want to “ruin” Thanksgiving simply because others at the table harbour differing political viewpoints?

GQ has done themselves in, once with that useless NFL QB being voted “Citizen of the Year” and secondly with this diatribe. Their target demographic is upwardly mobile white males. These kids are very opinionated and with the economy surging up due to Trump I think they’ll side with the President.

I give GQ another year and they’ll fade away.

Some still just can’t get over Hillory losing.

Before Trump, no matter how much the writer disliked the president, there was some degree of civility. Now, because of the MSM’s behaviour toward the president, it seems to be OK for anyone to go off like a lunatic. Obscene, rude, insulting, threatening articles in supposedly respectable publications are now common place. Try saying or writing anything like that about Obama and the country would boycott you.

The most interesting part of the insults toward Trump is that they are personal attacks. Ad hominem attacks. Nothing intellectual. Nothing more than a monkey with a hammer.

I guess ya gotta feel a certain amount of compassion for ‘people’ like the penner of that nasty GQ piece.
I mean the ‘person’ who produces such an uncalled for, Son-of-Sam like, ugly, mean-spirited and hateful piece of hysterical anger must be such an ugly, mean-spirited, hateful, angry and hysterical six-year-old, themselves. I wonder what Thanksgiving was like in Berkowitz’ head…
Boy, this lefty-progressivism is really evolving…somewhere – cue Twilight Zone music.
…and GQ?
Well…who really cares what a silly metrosexual-magazine has to say about anything anyway. LOL.

GQ is an American men’s magazine and not intended for a Canadian audience. They have Thanksgiving in late November, after all.

If GQ wants to ridicule their president should we not leave them to it? They know him better than we do.

Gentleman’s Quarterly is basically about style and men’s fashion. To them Donald Trump appears like a turkey, and a really badly dressed turkey.

Canadians can smirk while still being respectful.

Stephen E:
Did you offer them a gizzard?

GQ always deals with turkeys. They had Trudeau on their cover.

To be perfectly honest, I don’t have a clue about what GQ is. And I can gather I can keep it that way.

GQ looked around at the rest of the mainstream media throwing an endless temper tantrum, exposing their bias & utter hypocrisy and generally showing that they’re childish leftist propaganda spewing hacks and said “we need to get in on this”.

It’s a war and the first and second casualty of war is truth and decency.

RICK PLESNIK you are right of course.
I left out the greatest Canadian lefty organization – the CBC, fully subsidized by us Canadians albeit without any of our consent – or at least the majority of us Canadians.

These same leftist regressives who support ruining Thanksgiving will arrive empty-handed; scatter when it’s time to do dishes & clean up; lecture everyone until someone threatens to toss them out on their a$$; and will fill Tupperware with leftovers. Little do their realize that when they finally leave, the family’s applause can be heard from next door.

GQ has been swirling the toilet for some time now.

Not forgetting McLeans is subsidized by the Canadian Taxpayer………..!

Nothing is sacred in the Left’s attempt to vilify Trump!

MUTA WEEN said; “We never hear about the circulation of these magazines. I can’t imagine who is buying them.”
The obvious answer is that left wing Idiots are buying them, and that is the crux of the problem with magazines like this and others existing. If no one supported or bought them they would not exist.
It’s like a bully in the school yard, as long as there are other kids egging him on and following him around he continues to bully.
If there wasn’t any support for magazines like GQ, Mcleans, Newsweek etc. and news outlets like CNN, MSNBC, NewYork times etc. then they would not exist would they?
So, as I see it we have too many left wing assholes and downright stupid people that live and love to wallow in this kind of behavior. They love to hear the lies and even start to believe the lies and misinformation, because they are stupid and do not think for themselves. They need the left wing magazines and news outlets to continually tell them how to think and what to believe.

With magazines and newspapers folding like a house of cards GQ with columns like this are on their way out ….and the sooner the better.

Just the Left displaying their ignorance, in their usual manner. In addition they are very good at kissing brown hairy Butts especially when they need the brown hairy vote, if their Left Wing dogma is to stand a chance come the next election. Marxist scum, the lot of them.

Reminds me of a dinner at a cousins’ place. Their son knew I didn’t care for Obama and his politics. Two of his cousins from the other side were coming to dinner. Democrats who worked for Obama’s election. I told him NOT to mention that I didn’t care for Obama but within one minute of everyone being seated he announced my view of Obama.

They were shocked and couldn’t figure out why. So I told them very quickly. They disagreed. I said its dinner and lets move on. Since I was sitting between them it was a very icy situation. Little of their conversation included me.

And the funny thing is that the son didn’t like Obama, too.
